I am so happy you didn't play background music or use subtitles! This was my first time disassembling a laptop. The "Dell series 3000" I bought around 2015. And it has been working well all the way up until this point. Today, I got a black screen with a multicolored meshed pixel square dead center and I couldn't do anything beyond turning the laptop on and off. Every piece of advice said I had to go in to fix the problem. Thanks to your guidance, I was able to learn how to do it.
Nice! Glad to help.
This video was great! I used it to replace my daughter's HD with a cloned SSD. I could not have done it without your help! Thank you for submitting this!
Glad to hear it!
Wonderful! followed the tutorial and managed to fix my laptop. Thank you
Anyone else have this laptop and just have awful case failure? Poles inside for the screws in the bottom right corner breaking off. Chunks missing from the tips of the front corners on the bottom half. The case around the hinges cracked.
On another mote, lovely video. I think I've used this twice now.
You are a champion,,great video without a ton of background music ,,just what I needed ,,,step by step n very informative and accurate ,,thanks
Well done perfect timing and great recording this is what we like on CZcams
Thx for the tutorial, helping my friend to upgrade his crashed harddisk to SSD.
Thank you so much! Just replaced CMOS battery and applied thermal paste.
Haha where’s the re assemble part?!?
Just play this in reverse
You were a MAJOR help!!! Thanx!
Very Helpful, thanks for the explanation.
Remember when laptops had doors that were easy to open to access the hard drive and RAM? Good times....
Thanks a lot man! Great video!
A few years late but thanks. Those four screws under the keyboard I would have never found. Thanks.
I just took one apart to replace the CMOS battery, which is inconveniently inaccessible without removing the cover, and noticed some minor differences. For example, no screws below the DVD drive, and no hole for pushing the DVD drive out. Also, the keyboard needed some yanking before it came off, because it is secured with some kind of double sided tape.
Great video, like other commentors, this was exactly what I needed!
I am watching a lot of videos about disassembling but none about assembling it back :D I mean for the simple stuff RAM , drive etc
Excuse could you clear something up for me to whether that black square close to the RAM slots is the processor or graphics card.
How’d you just remove the keyboard ribbon cable so easily and how do you move the retainer
Thanks , verte hard to dissaseble
please suggest a cheap and good scredriver. or tell me what size and type I need
This is good, my friend borrowed this laptop and when I got it back the port where you plug the power cable into was not “plugging it in” to the computer. Like the actual part it plugged into was pushed back or something. I need to get new screws but will follow along later, thanks.
Hi this is exactly what I’m opening mine up for right now. Same exact one same exact issue as u described
@@peacanpie8291 oh word, I ended up opening it and found the thing the power cord was suppose to plug into was moving around, wasn't attached to anything. I ended up posting about it on reddit and from other people responses, I hot glue the thingy down and it seems to be working just fine now.
@@lamar5588 wow thanks for the reply with knowledge. I think I’m going to try to open mine up on my own. My worry was that it needed to be grounded/soldered but if hot glue works, then I ought to be able to try that.
@@peacanpie8291 hopefully you can solve it as easy as I solved mine but you won't know till you open it. Fingers cross you'll get it working again!
There is a plastic piece that sits partially beneath the motherboard in the front of the laptop. Mine fell out. Can't see how it goes in. Part of it is wrapped in silver tape. Can you please explain.
Thank you so much
great video
Perfect! This is exactly what I needed to know. I would have broken all kinds of things forcing it open without knowing where the other unforeseen screws were - Thank you!
I never woulda guessed that backwards baseball cap man.
got drunk and spilled tequila on laptop so thqnk uou
Where is the CPU located
I can’t see how he’s taking the display cable out :(
first 5 minutes. It is a " do not try this at home if you are not totally sure" kind of things. the screws are NOT coming out so easily
So, no replaceable CPU? That sucks
Will never buy dell ever again... dont' feel like upgrading ram by looking at this...
yeah, this is pathetic. Keyboard removal just for a RAM change.
I broke all screw. LOL
