I'm back with the new update to Power Drill Massacre from the upcoming steam release. There was a few new features added that I definitely wanted to make a video on. Enjoy!
I love this game, despite what most people think I like just how much of a nightmare it feels like, one of those you have half asleep kinda feel.
I agree, it's what I enjoy about puppet's earlier games to be honest. They had a very dreamlike atmosphere that creeps up on you!

This actually gives extra fear, unlike other first person horrors games you do indeed have a quite big space to run from the chaser...but here? Is so tight...

It seems easier to run away from the killer in first person because you dont get stuck on the halways, but it's a much scarier experience.

That nope at 15:38 was gold, most people would think that way irl. This game seems less intimidating to me in first person, good show.
In case ya didn't know, staying in that room for too long will cause the door to be closed and locked, meaning you can't get out. Then after a bit, the power drill killer will show up and eventually catch you since you can't escape the room. You then wake up in a cage, with your character crying. The killer then tries talking to her, and then eventually kills her......yeah I think I said too much.

Puppet Combo are one of the few indie developers whom of which perfected the VHS era of horror gores and slashers. There's just something scary about grainy and static signals on CRT TVs.
I find it genius that PC managed to take a power tool that under almost no circumstances would be a good weapon and still make an amazingly tense horror game about it.

The flickering white border is really tacky and annoying, but besides that, it's freaky as hell. Should add an option to make that go away. Flickering lights bother people, including me.

Once I played Nun Massacre, I knew that Puppet Combo is the best horror game developer.
Power Drill Massacre and Nun Massacre are both so similar.
There is no ambience which is already as bad as it is.
Then there's the fucking audio cues.
In Power Drill, you can only determine where the Driller Killer is at if you listen for his footsteps.
In Nun Massacre. If you don't use the radar, you can either count on the static or slight audio cues to determine where Mother Lucy is.
I can't wait for the full release of Power Drill Massacre.

Okay so about the screams at the end, I believe firmly that this IS indeed Megan being tortured to death and will explain why:
A) the sound. First things first, it sounds like agony not rage and does so throughout. My proof that it is indeed Megan is the ending of Night Watch, in that game there is similar screaming but it is lower and more masculine and occurs right after the killer stabs into Jim. Also thr screams here ARE high pitched at times if you listen closely, they’re likely low due to how drawn out the pain is in comparison to her high pitched screams throughout the game which were more a blend of shock and sudden pain.
B) the radio mentions that Megan is missing. I haven’t been able to see any logical explanation for this assuming she escaped. The main argument I’ve heard is that she was lost in the woods but I question that, 1) why was she not able to eventually find help? And 2) why didn’t the killer chase her? He is familiar with those woods and clearly doesn’t get exhausted. This to me is the most compelling, if she’s missing it makes sense for her to be locked deep within the mill
C) the entire escape feels more dream dream like (well more nightmarish than the general gameplay) the hall is incredibly long, has an unnaturally bright light at the end, has red lights at the start and a ghost girl running through it. It’s likely that Megan got captured by the killer and perhaps in a nightmare or hallucination tried to escape. The ending feels like nightmares where you try to escape but see no end in sight, this explanation I admit is boring and generic but to me is the only explanation and doesn’t ruin the narrative
D) it thematically feel like a better ending. There is no victory for her, no escape, tonally it matches the plot of the game as a hopeless horror fest of paranoia and pain. I’d say this works better than the alternative ending because we don’t know what truly happens to her, only guess based off the horrific audio

To paraphrase Black Mage, that was so scary I shit your pants. If Puppet Combo ever get a movie contract people are going to die of shock in theatres.

Nah, in the game when you play at a gas station, theres a mini game of this game and qhen you beat the minigame the end says that she survives but is traumatized or soemthing like that

I like the game but if we're being realistic you would be a terrible killer if you used a power drill as a murder weapon, like the protag could just pick up the chair for defense or what does the killer do when it runs out of battery?

They were completely isolated, and the heavy stress and shock from the car crash probably made her not think straight about going into an abandoned building for help. After all, it doesn't look like they had too much options in the matter anyway.

I’m a bit disappointed that the only change is adding 1st person, I think it would be really cool if there was a special key you could find that would allow you to open the sugar tunnel doors and allow for a fast travel of sorts. It would also make the building bigger as incentive to use them.

in my opinion i dont like the first person pov the tank controls is what made it feel more scary and yes i tried the demo i know there is a option for tank controls but it just dont feel the same between the original demo and the steam demo
