The sun is not bad for your hair. I used to keep my hair covered up all the time but letting it out actually helped with scalp infections and gave me faster growth. Just try to keep it moisturised.

I also cut it and never had a goal of growing it long so I don't know how much that played a factor. But then I did the upside down thing and it went down to middle of my boobs and was really thick.

I learned this year to wear a protectant in my hair or hat. The underside back of my hair changed from dark brown to a blondish-red and severely dried it out. Had to cut off 1 1/2 inches ☹️
#6 is probably why my hair isn’t growing so fast. Here in Florida, it’s hot year-round (even in the winter, except for a few random days of cold fronts), but I don’t wear a hat 😅
