- Newcastle United's final game of the 2023/24 season ended in an 8-0 defeat against the A-League All Stars at the Marvel Stadium on Friday.
Eddie Howe's side, consisting of numerous Academy products making their full senior debuts for the club, conceded three times in the first-half as Ben Old opened the scoring inside five minutes before strikes from Nicolas Milanovic and Adam Taggart extended the A-League All Stars' advantage further before the break.
Apostolos Stamatelopoulos' second-half brace and late efforts from Jake Hollman, Jordan Courtney-Perkins and Bozhidar Kraev rounded off a tough night in Melbourne, concluding United's post-season tour of Australia.

After reading the comments from your last vlog mate, people are fuming especially ausy fans who have travelled almost 1000km to watch nufc and only ever dreamed of being able to see them live, I can see Eddie's point of view 3 games in 5 days days but if we are going to do something and be paid for it then we should do it properly for the fans, this was a total mistake and behind the scenes I bet our owners are not happy
Well, was indeed a disaster. Good on the fans that were still singing down 7 goals. I think is just more attention and consideration for friendlies that are pre season as opposed to post season. Even with a lot of younger players its clear we didn't play with heart and that's not ok. Hats off to all the fans that paid their good money and did not get anything like they expected. The club needs to either take this more seriously (for a friendly) or not do this. The few million quid isn't worth the bad look imo. In any case, howay the summer transfer window!

I mean if the Aussies were Championship level, our under 21s aren't even Conference level. In fact many are been released. But why Dummett and Ritchie didn't play is beyond me.

Trying to claim after the fact that this is a u21 team is fairly disingenuous when 32 year old Mark Gillespie started and people payed good money to attend. It was advertised that the first team for Newcastle would play, we didn't get that. But no Pro should allow themselves to be beaten by 8-nill. The All Stars was a team mostly made up of younger players, with some older lads around for guidance. So making excuses saying the team was young is just pathetic honestly. Hopefully next year when the EPL clubs come looking for extra revenue, we get to play a team with some real mana.
