Here's an interesting one: the English Forces at Agincourt, including Knights, archers, and armsmen, replace the Greek contingent at Thermopalaye.They must either delay the Persian army until Greek forces arrive or inflict enough casaulties as to force them from the field.

Would you consider reintroducing the ironclads again but in the battle against or with the Spanish Armada....they would be near invincible to everything but the possible fireships. Or even a group of WWI machine gunners defending the within the thin narrow gap at the battle of Thermopylae. keep up the interesting work
I generally like the supplementary forces you've used previously, but this was a good change. I'd like to see something involving the landsknechts; maybe going back to defend Rome from the Goths or to join one side or pick a side in the Teutoburg campaign.
I have an interesting one, WW2 Germany with a modern logistics system (Either the 1980s West and East German plus Austrian miliary and civilian stuff likes trains and trucks or the current 2023/2024 German and Austrian ones). Whichever you think would give them the bigger boost and would be a better insight into how the Wehrmacht worked than simply tanks, artillery and planes.
They lose even faster because this requires even more fuel that they dont have. It goes the same for all of the wonder weapon arguments. The MAUS, the rocket planes. They all require fuel (and rubber for the trucks) that the germans just didnt have

I like both methods of added futuristic units to existing units as well as replacing them and both methods should be used again
as a hema practicioner, ill say that havier armour impeding mobility is kinda a myth. what actually happens is that you will run out of stamina significantly faster than someone wearing lighter armour, so its more of a stamina thing than a speed thing
Just imagine if Spanish Tercio were presents at Nicopolis and not the french medieval knigths! Sultan Yildirim the thunderbolt Bayezid would have been up against a real challenge!
This alternate Timeline would have Muskets everywhere by the early 15th century
Battle of Midway but with a modern Carrier Battle Group?
For exemple in Lepanto battle the Spanish Tercios they were decisive and shower clear superiority from the Janissaries in the boarding hand to hand; they have a best armies in history.
mind you i suspect lepanto was as much due to ottoman overconfidence and better handling of the allied galleys.
Better leadership, not even better or more organized troops makes the biggest difference in these cases. Even an army overmatch or less militarily effective under a good leader can execute some effective delaying battle and retreat mostly in one piece.

Basically Spain would just be stuck in the heat.
This was enjoyable, but I recommend the format you used for the "WWI soldiers" and the "Rangers at the Alamo".
The main problem would be the (very) slow rate of fire of those early arquebuses, plus don't know if their range was similar to Turkish bows. Probabilly you should double the spanish force, at least 10.000 men strong, to stay sure of a victory.
PS. didn't the turks were crushed few yrs later by Tamerlane, that ruthlessly exterminated so many of them?

intresting i wonder how a 17th century tercio fair, they would be similiar but have distinct difference, much more firepower than a 15th century terico and better artillery plus they would also have somewhat different fighting methods, tercios had by the thirty years war started to adopt more modern doctrines such as volley fire and fought in a maner not dissimilar to the dutch.
If you study medivial history, you should have heard of Gjergj George Kastrioti aka Skanderbeg, king of Epyrus. If he was in nicopolis he would have smashed the ottomans.He destroyed ottoman for 25 times with all the armies composition they had at nicopolis and even better composotion after they took Constantinople and emploed cannons in 1445 1465 and so on. He destroyed ottomans armies at every battle where he was outnumbered, and never got beaten in battle against ottomans when he directed it.Look it up, the guy is legendary Christian commander unknown by most.

it would have to be a total replacement. If it was just a unit the crusaders would fight about how to use them.
Maybe instead of sending a small number of soldiers further in the past, you can do one where a lot of less technologically advanced soldiers go into a battle more recent.

Spain has a history of humilliating the Turks
I have to disagree there is no way on Earth 4,000 Spanish Tercio could defeat Ottoman army even with their superior technology, simply because out of 25,000 at least 15,000 were Sipahis! Sipahis were effective not because their armour rather because they were extremely mobile force with bows and javelins. So they would never charge against pikemen as claimed rather keep their distance and engage in a skirmish. Their bows and javelins had less penetration than guns but their rate of fire was many times higher and Tercio was very lightly armoured so they could not last long especially with low numbers. 4,000 of them were going to be just slaughtered, slow formation of Tercios could never force them to engage in melee. So the amount of Tercios needed is much higher or crusader army had to be more complex with units which would force Sipahis to engage..

Armour does not greatly reduce mobility. Please stop perpetuating this myth! Full plate battle armour only weighed about 60lbs. A knight could run, jump, climb a rope/ladder , etc in their armor.
Regardless, it's a shame things didn't go this way historically. Oops... did I say that...
