Cool tractors for sure! My Grandpa purchased ours brand new in 1937, we have a good collection of them now.
Awesome!
That’s the fastest you ever been on tractor LOL you got some guts for sure LOL
🤣🤣🤣
Cool tractor , that thing looks fun , thanks Ross
Lol....let's take it here and make some bad decisions! Epic!!!!
You just know I gotta push the limits 🤣
That tractor sounds like the peterbuilt truck in duel lol! Obtw thanks for the ride in the roster
🤣 thanks for watching!
I would rebuild the carburetor, fix the brakes and give it back to her. Maybe re-pack the bearings in the front wheels to eliminate the wobble It looks like a Chrysler six cylinder flat-head with an updraft carburetor. I have seen later Co-op tractors at antique farm machinery shows but none that old. Great fun! I keep wondering where you live? I live in Evansville, in southern Indiana.
I live in Jackson county.
Whoo hooo! High gear in the pasture😂😂😂 thanks again for the comic relief, I could just imagine standing there as you went whizzing bye👍
Glad you enjoyed it 🤣🤣🤣
Lol!!!! You’re havin tooo much fun Ross!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣
Only had a screen in the pan. That was the oil pump you referenced on the side of the block opposite the distributor. Oil filter was an aftermarket option as someone else mentioned.
That’s interesting. I’m considering adding on a filter. But maybe that’s unnecessary
We used to keep Fram bypass filter systems in stock as back in the days of those engines oil filters were not standard with the car. With the bypass filter, you simply got oil pressure from the available oil gallery and route oil to the filter, and return it back to the crankcase. The only difference was how you mounted the filter up on top of the engine. That engine sounds like it has a marine cam. Those were a little more radical grind than car and truck engines. Chrysler made flat-head engines for about any use, from 5 on a common crankcase in a radial pattern for tanks to about any other use one could think of.
That’s what I’m thinking of adding on. I think any kind of filtration would be helpful.
@@rosstheoliverman You are probably too young to remember that even up into the 60s, heaters in cars were not standard. Today one can order a heat delete in a new car. I think the delete option is more money. In the 40s and 50s, one could order gasoline-fired heaters for really cold areas. The Corvair cars had gasoline heaters standard. Our local school had a new Chevrolet Corvair for a driver's Ed car. It was one of the first produced. One day, the driver's ed teacher who was also the industrial arts teacher, went to the rented garage, and when he turned the heater on, the front hood (trunk) blew open. Dirty points in the heater caused a gasoline surplus and when the points did cause the ignition coil to make the ignitor work, there was a boom.
Best video yet I was so load 😅😅 my wife come in the den to see what I was so load about
🤣🤣🤣
Loud. That’s LOUD, Tim.
#1! That's never happened. Always enjoy your videos. Good luck with all your projects.
Ha! Someone has to be first ! Thanks Dan!!
Like old tractor man dounds like a hotrode
It’s definitely a fun one!
That's a pretty neat thrill ride, something to have fun on
Yes it is!!
We had an Empire tractor made from a surplus Jeep, that thing would fly. That tractor reminds me of our old Empire.
I’ve seen those. They were similar style of simple construction
@@rosstheoliverman My brother and I played Rat Patrol with that tractor, Dad made sure he was around so we couldn't run it like that. Lol.
I really enjoyed the ride you had me laughing ! That would be a lot more fun with a big block 454 lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
I think if it went any faster it would be too scary to drive. That’s a lotta steel moving and then the driveshaft is spinning between your legs.
454 on that? Oh heck yeah 🤣
Good job Ross don't let fear and common sense rule you
Holy that thing is a squirrel 😂
Yes sir! This horse is wild 🤣
Wow - that's some horn on that thing. Ran a lot better once it was fully warmed up. Really did seem fast, too. Watching the scenery go by was more like riding in a vehicle than on a tractor. That tractor sure doesn't need a SMV sign on the back! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Last time I saw a wobble like that was when I was pulling a 36 foot JD elevator down a 4-lane highway about 40 miles from home. Shortly thereafter that wheel broke off and I had to leave the elevator along the highway and have an equipment dealer pick it up with a flatbed to get it home.
I’m hoping that that is just a bent rim and not a serious problem. I’d hate for it to go past me on a hot lap 🤣
Excellent!
Thanks!
You are a very smart man. I enjoy your videos and the music you play.
Thanks Jack!!
That MOPAR engine sounds awesome Ross👍👍
It sure does! It’s wild 🤣
It sure will get up and go!
It definitely moves right along 🤣
Great video, I like the old tractors.
Thanks Timothy!
Cool ol tractor !! Thanks for sharing I’ve never been close to one.
Thanks for watching John!
Luv it pal ur a trip
Thanks 🤣
take one fast tractor add one middle aged man and equals a wild 16 year old driver!!!! happens to me all the time!!!! LOL!!!!! lwill be watchin. back in the late 50s we had a neighor that had a old Longe tractor he custom baled with and the nieghbors said that longe would really run down the road!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣
Cool machine 😂
Yes it is 🤣
😊
Thanks For watching Richard!
Better start hunting for one to add to the fleet!!
I would love to have one if the price is right!
Put that wiggle song to that wheel shake lol
🤣
That thing goes faster than my first car...lol
🤣
This may be the best video on CZcams!! 😅😅
🤣 thanks Kevin!
That tractor is cool i laugh my ass off .😂
It’s definitely a good time 🤣
Oh my race track Ross on his new horse coop lightning watch out for wobbly wheels n no brakes lol sounded better it warmed up neat . From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
🤣🤣🤣 thanks Earl!
For it's size it looks durable .
It’s made of actual American steel. Some thing that we don’t recognize in this world today.
That's definitely a hors.... err tractor of a different color!
You got that right! 🤣
That governor is jumpy like my CA Allis. You might try putting a small spring on the governor rod and see if you can slow that bronco down. My CA spring just pulls down 90 degrees off the governor rod.
It definitely is something to get used to. I could see how it could shove somebody through a barn wall or something
Quite the little beast...scrap pile engineering at its finest!!!
They definitely didn’t spend a lot of money on engineering 🤣
Ludicrous speed
We’ve gone Plaid! 🤣
@@rosstheoliverman
LMAO!!
I’d bet that going to town gear was popular with the Mennonites!
🤣
That radiator cap I bet is not original. It says 16lbs and I wonder if that is maybe a little high for that radiator, but I could be wrong.
I wonder that too, most of the tractors are in like the seven psi range.
Sounds like it's got a big cam in it.
Gosh that things goes like everything. Can you do a bit showing off that air cleaner in one of your videos. I think it’s the same as a red face mm air cleaner mushroom
I know that some of the dress up parts are Harley Davidson
She be look’in fairly dangerous!😂
She’s a wild horse!!
Is that tractor made by clock shut? Little boys will play!
No, this was before their partnership
That’s what Vice Grip Garage would call your going to town machine. I don’t think there is a speed rating on tractor tires.
Tampico salt flats lol
🤣🤣🤣
A set of 18.4X38’s and probably at least a helmet and a guy could either have a lot of fun or meet his maker
Maybe both 🤣
What kind of tractor is that? I love it
It’s a Farmers Union #2 Co-op
When I was a kid I remember seeing one of the Co-op tractors but I never heard one run. Thanks Michael
It’s pretty neat! Thanks Michael!
Hey Ross that engine looks to be a Chrysler is it? Have fun. 😊
It is indeed a flathead six cylinder Chrysler
That front tire looks like a Dunlop for a Harley Davidson.....
It says Harley Davidson on it. The tractor supposedly came from a Harley Davidson dealer who collected tractors.
... also engine sounds like an old Dodge PU.....
So I assume this tractor has some family history to the lady who owns it? It's an interesting tractor but lacks some styling and is crude but I like it.
I think she just knew the people who owned it.
If it has a truck rear end it's probably geared higher than most tractors
It definitely is. That thing will scoot 🤣
take that 16 lb rad cap off use a 3lb .
I’ll have to check that! I never noticed it!!
A hayride wouldn't last long behind that thing😂
Put a fresh glossy paint job on the floor of the wagon and I’d say they’d slide right out from under like when those guys pull the tablecloth out from under the dishes.
I see it looks like the radiator cap is 16 PSI. Doesn't that seem more suited to a Peterbilt than an old gas engine?
I think it’s a little high as well. I may have to get a different one
I don't think those early ones had oil filters. That engine does look correct for a #2. I have a #3 and it'll easily do 30 mph down the road. Very cool tractors.
Thanks for the info! I was hoping some other people would comment who actually had one or knew something about them.
CO-OP had Chrysler industrial engines Massey Harris had the same engines I'm as bad as you are the neighbors think what the hell has Ross got into now my neighbors ask me all the time what the hell did you get now lol 🤣🤣🤣
That’s what I always heard. I know it’s basically truck parts in a steel frame.
I know about Co-op tractors because a local tractor supplier had parts. Did these come with 6- cylinder? Are you aware of Thieman?
I looked it up. Yes, they did
Yes they were six-cylinder. I’ve heard of the Thieman but never saw one in person.
an odd looking moter in that tractor
Hard pass. HAAAARD pass. I like to have fun but that’s too fast for me
🤣🤣🤣 It’s almost scary
Good job Ross don't let fear and common sense rule you
🤣🤣🤣 nope
