Good points! This is an interesting topic. I can't wait to hear more about exactly how to add that higher level value to clients. Thanks!

Do people still prepare taxes? Yes
Like my wife tells people all the time: Turbo Tax and software like it is only as good as the answers you give it.
    Same with any "automation".

I have been thinking a lot about this topic. Do you think that one could get by with only an associates degree in Accounting, or should they stay in school and get a bachelor's degree? I am worried that bookkeeping will become increasingly automated and there will only be a need for cpa's and accountants? I would love to hear your thoughts!!

Does your course offer a “How to find clients” portion or just the “How to use Quickbooks” piece?

Hi Sam, thanks for your question. I'm actually working on a new course right now that will be more comprehensive and focused on bookkeeping and building a bookkeeping business to go along with my existing course which is primarily focused on the QuickBooks software. Make sure you're signed up for my email list so you hear when that course goes on pre-sale!

So what are the automation options for small business? Is there automation available? I work at large public university and we recently worked with Robotic Process Automation to process data entry. I would like to know any company or software that has automation for small business.

If all journal entries are done by the machine, will the bookkeeper still be checking on all transactions and make sure the machine did them correctly

but why would people hire a bookkeeper to do the analytical stuff ($80 an hour???) instead of CPA once the bookkeeping is all automated? you sound just like the folks who are also defending their CPA careers. They're all going to very downsized like bank tellers - still needed, but just one or two at each branch instead of 10+ at a branch decades ago

CPA's will always be needed - bookkeeping Software will do the rest. 5 yrs? min 10 yrs perhaps. for full implementation

@@stevemyers2092 you mean just external auditing, right? CPAs doing other stuff will also be automated?
