Thanks for that clip, another little gem. I like the interviewer, she seems genuine. "Oh, I could have gone on for hours" - every man needs a woman like that.😉

I started listening to Zappa in 66. Followed him right up to Jazz from Hell, which it was…. Still it was kinda hard not to take “ broken hearts are for assholes “ personally. I figure if you listen to Zappa long enough he’ll get around to you. No doubting the man’s genius, but perhaps not the most compassionate individual… if you’re into that kind of thing.

Really enjoyed this interview. I saw the Mothers at Cobo Hall, on a double billing with John McLaughlin. Frank Zappa vs John McLaughlin, Jean-Luc Ponty vs Jerry Goodman. Imagine that. I like Hot Rats and Waka Jawaka. He made many other albums, but those two are favorites of mine.

Frank in a suit. He did testify to congress back then when they were putting parental warning stickers on certain albums for adult language. And he was doing cultural ambassador stuff like he said during the cold war The Czech prez was a playwrite and knew Frank. He was popular behind the iron curtain. Has a statue in Lithuania!

Big , big fan here , but one thing i didn't like about Fank was his massive cynicism on so many things. i m cynical too, but he had no hope for just about everything it seems . i still wonder if that jail time he had in the early 60's for being busted for a small thing like making a sex noise tape started that all. i can see how it would but he was so down on having any positive views on most subjects. Also , didn't like that any new form of Rock came out he seemed to put it down ,: Punk ,new wave, synth bands, ect.....
