- The Nagant M1895 Officer Carbine Deadeye used to be a head clicker, but in recent patches, its spam ability has lost its luster. This gun is great as either a sniper or a quick firing pistol, yet almost never both at the same time. This guide should tell you how to use it. It helps if you like Kung Pow!

Tip: if their head is narrower than the distance between the horizontal lines of the crosshair, they are over 100m away and thus out of headshot range. If it is bigger that that gap, you can get a headshot kill (give or take 5 meters). This 100m measurement is true for all Deadeye sights but relevant here due to the 95m effective range.

If it's a player with a Nitro and double Dolch, then headshots are easier because the ego trip they are on has made their head hitbox is 2x its normal size.
@@Rob_Kankerboef - I mean. of course, but it waiting that extra ten seconds while they run toward you unaware brings them from "will do 99% damage and leave them sprinting for cover" to "laid out on their back" it's a pretty handy measurement.

As someone who likes to sneak into mid range and likes being able to keep firing, this gun has always been awesome for me. That said, the pain of not killing with a headshot is very real.

No. Anything with a deadeye scope is not a sniper it's a mid range skirmishing tool. This one excels at being an aimpunch machine and it's whole variant line is basically cowboy dmr.

While I love the standard carbine, I can just never find an excuse to take this thing into a match. I just feel like the vetterli deadeye fills the same role but does a better job of it as that sort of pseudo-sniper that can also spam a bit. I think the other problem is that the carbine's irons are just so clean and nice to use, it often seems harder to hit long range shots with the deadeye. It's definitely as rewarding as it is incredibly frustrating to use at times, and that might make it worth it for some people.
this. I loved the carbine pre and post-nerf, but the deadeye? why the hell would you take that when the regular version has such nice sights already?
@eanfran yeah I really like the deadeye scope on the vetterli but it just doesn’t click for me with the carbine. Maybe I should give it a second chance and get some proper use with it
@eanfran you can still click heads with the regular one, the scope is unnecesary cause the gun is effective at close range, so why the need of scope?

If id have fanning on my hunter , i'd always take the nagant silencer as a secondary, because that loadout is actually really good at mid and close range. I REALLY liked the jokes and references today, are they getting more? I think it suits the kind of weapons you talk about very well, great work

My cheap load out is Romero talon and silenced nagant, with fanning it covers all my midrange around a compound
This is definitely one of my favourite guns in Hunt, but that added recoil nerf really sucks.
Straight up pointless to run now. It more expensive than the winefeilds and the custom ammo is pointless but ignoring that you can't be aggressive with it anymore because you'll miss every shot because of the recoil.
Just use the winefeilds, they are better in everyway now.
@notpc6981 idk the deadeye is hard to use especially since it can take 4-5 shots to kill especially if you dont land a headshot. velocity is slow and if you add HV the recoil is bad even with steady aim. Im a 2+KD players who also plays a bunch of other FPS with recoil and bullet lead. its just not good, well the scope version that is.

So, I tried this weapon a bit after this video (even got the mastery in a few days), and I must say, it's amazing. As another comment already said, it being viable at a lot of ranges is really what makes it stand out. I usually also don't like scoped weapons, but here the scope is somehow a bit nicer than on other ones. And yeah, while I don't use spamming on range, up close no scope spamming and seeing the two killing shots hit is just incredibly satisfying
One of my favorite guns in the game - especially as a starter. Not a lot of traits needed to be usable and good for close up and mid range fights. I take a chain pistol with it -more for the ammo pool and as a last resort.

I think you’re undervaluing the officer carbine. That thing can be utterly nutty. Also, never bring poison ammo, it significantly reduces your two tap potential. This goes doubly for the officer pistol since you completely lose two taps.
'Kinda bad, then kinda good, then kinda bad again' is such a perfect way to describe the OCD. Good stuff as always man.

Ah, my favorite gun in hunt. A gentleman's weapon really, viable at all ranges (besides 100m+), and beautiful to look at. Not overpowered or overcosted either. Really a great parallel to the old CoD: Modern Warfare Dragunov.
100m+ is pretty much any fight outside of a compound, though... Soft headshots are enough to make me buy a Vetterli

Yeah it is my opinion that the non-carbine nagant officer sights are the best iron sights in the game

I love taking this thing with the cavalry saber, great weapon.
My favorite loadout is OCD with Saber.
Great at medium range below 100 m, and the saber is super deadly in the sub 10 m range. Only thing you have to worry about is long range rifles and hidden shotgun users (both of which seem to be things you should worry about no matter your loadout).
I don’t even play the game but these videos are very entertaining.
Also love the kung pow references. Watched it with my dad and became one of my favorites.

I luv this gun. I've gotten shot by an enemy and turned it around with a quick headshot. I've been in the second floor of a building with two teams around and had a match with 7kills. But my favorite was a team wipe. Ambushed the first enemy three pops, to my left my teammate got bomblanced and the dude almost got me but two quick rapid got him before he got me, then to top it off looked up the hill and killed their third with a solid headshot. By far my favorite non meta weapon
I don't even play nor I have ever played this game but I love this series.
I love this series of videos (and am looking forward to the next Q and A) because it helps sparse out the strengths and weaknesses of these off meta weapons. As someone who pulls away from meta options in most games do to mental injury getting a clear idea of what guns are good for helps a lot when putting together a load out. Your video on the Martini Henry helped me come around on that rifle and I have been enjoying it immensely.

Given the significant buff to poison rounds that came out this year with the Serpent Moon event, this gun is worth revisiting.

Another side-effect of HV ammo is it gives it a "Normal" recoil pattern. It just goes straight up rather than side to side. So you should probably always bring HV if you have it.

I love the movie kung pow. Betty is the best character, especially with his incredible ability of seduction and magic. Easily the best scene in the movie imo is the squirrel part, actually makes narrative sense in such a strange and confused movie

I never play it this way though. It really does feel more like a dmr with a short range scope. I actually like to duel and get a kill with two shots, so a headshot is usually a surprise for me anyway lol

my go-to loadout has been normal nagant officer carbine (non-deadeye) with a saber, can say I have better options at possibly better prices even but it's just so fun

Solid gun. With about 2k hours i gotta say, its a yeeter of men. 2 taps at close range with a near guarantee to headshot within 50 meters if they stop for so much as a moment.
Its also great for precise firing at ranges iron sights would be making body shots

Ya know, I even referred to dying while flushing out a team so my buddies could drop them as the "My Face To Your Foot Stance" last time I played Hunt with my buddies.

i personally take any chance i can get to use this gun when im playing with friends, at actuall sniper distances it wont do much but at close to medium range its a god send and when you play with friends its PERFECT to finish of people at sniper ranges when they have already taken hits which is the reason why i rarely take it when playing solo, in my opinion this gun is as close to a support weapon as you can get and if youre a decent marksman i think you will be very happy with the results if you take it out when playing with friends
Deadeye scopes just don't do it for me. I love your videos on the Spring'Com'Dead, this one, and the nagant precision deadeye, because i love all three weapons, but i just prefer their iron sight variants. the deadeye pains me

Well at least you got some useful footage out of those games
dunno, i saw someone using it well and decided to go back to do my officer carbine/cavalry saber loadout cause it's fun as fuck, and decided to bring in the deadeye carbine instead. wound up with 2 team wipes, the first just being 2 frags in 2 seconds with the saber, what the quake 3 arena announcer would call "excellent" and "humiliation", but the second team wipe was two one tap headshots on two poor bastards with that carbine deadeye. both wipes were satisfying as fuck.
This sounds like a fun loadout! Poison ammo would probably work too for that loadout, although then you gotta pretty much only use saber for killing AI other than immolator
@@Ajattaro Yeah, the saber is the main weapon for AI, so long as you have something blunt like knuckles to deal with the immolators, you should be fine. Whispersmith and Silent Killer are strong traits for the loadout.
@@TheEveryDayC Silent killer with the saber is so satisfying to use, and probably way overpowered. Bows and crossbows are the only other weapons that you can 1 shot kill without making a sound.

My only real gripe about this gun is that by the time I've got it and the high velocity ammunition, you're approaching berthier price and youve passed vetterli prices. I do enjoy the normal officer carbine since I'm normally at mid range. However all variations of this gun are really fun and easy to use. In the end you've got a gun that can compete no matter what range you're at.

@@MrBandoftheHawk yeah it's a while back. The rapid fire kick was also less. So people would just double tap people in the head. And people didn't like that you had such a rapid fire weapon in hunt.

Officer carbine is large slot, Nagant precision is medium slot.
Nagant precision costs like 30 hunt dollars too as opposed to 200 on the officer carbine
I actually enjoy using this variant. Plus if your hunter has no traits it can be quite good. Also I've had surprisingly high success finding this carbine in quick play

It doesn't deliver enough imo for a 3 slot weapon, and the ammo reserve is too low compared to a winfield
It's a chore to use and honestly you are actively putting yourself at a disadvantage using the gun.
Low ammo and long reload, terrible recoil, low damage at range, fire rate bursts hurt when looking for a follow up.
The only thing that it has is damn near no sway so your first shot is golden.
