I definitely struggle the most with my movement in fights, along with not using my mobility items in time to get away when I need to. It’s so easy to freeze up and forget about basic movement in fights (strafing, crouching, sliding etc)
I do the same thing! I’ve had to start having my shockwaves out when I’m just running around in case I start being beamed otherwise I might freeze up if I get tagged and forget which hot key I have my shockwaves on. 😂
This is a problem with less experienced players, I’ve been there too. I used to play red vs blue rumble a lot and my movement is smooth now.
Pick twin mag, sharp tooth and purple combat smg + 2 slurp fishes to heal. You’ll improve a lot going there.
The thing I struggle with the most in endgame is just finding the last people. A _lot_ of people love to just hide out and camp at endgame instead of being active and fighting. It's led me to lose a couple of games because of it, and it's really irritating.
It’s hard when the final zone is in something like the jungle because there’s just so many hiding places. For me I like to stay with my back towards the storm so I can’t be flanked and if possible be somewhere high to scout out the terrain.
Happens to me as well. I'll drive over bushes and everything looking for ppl hiding but I also play aggressive lol
Same here. After a while of not being able to locate people, especially as the circle gets smaller, I get frustrated and my anxiety spikes and I'm convinced they're sneaking behind me somehow. Lol😅
Exactly I always wonder big streamers play, they always have big circles within last 2 players and I'm here struggling with 8
You can hire the Bull Shark NPC at Creeky Compound, who will do a scan of the area every so often and ping opponents. It's a risk, because if you're trying to sneak about in endgame, you'll have to make sure he's not in plain sight to give away your location. But it is a useful perk to spot anyone near you.
Even if the final opponents are out of the ping's reach, I've even used Bull Shark as bait before, and commanded him to move elsewhere, drawing out the final opponents and letting them fight while I third partied at the end lol
The best advice is honestly not to overthink it. Play with confidence, follow your game plan, and be smart about your fights.

There are a lot of things I struggle with but, personally, find confidence to be the biggest stone on the road: knowing I'm bad at shotty fights can throw me back so much, also the swapping and experience in general to have ideas on what to do in random or complicated situations.
But I like to think is a matter of experience and learning as I've already got so much better with movement and aim thanks to your guides and tips. We gotta keep evolving!
I think it comes down to experience 100% confidence is just something that builds overtime
I can’t overstate how helpful it is to keep track of players once it starts getting down to maybe 12 or so at least in duos. It’s crazy the times I’ve my duo has gone down close to the end and the last few people don’t seem to realize they’re the only ones left and are still hiding. Timing is so important in this game.

I struggle with endgame/placing second, especially when i get opening tags on people just to end up choking. Just need to be more comfortable fighting under pressure. Started playing in Ch4 S2, can't wait to see how I'll be once a year passes
Just recently came back to the game. Played from S1-SX and gave it up with all the changes. My brother convinced me to come back due to zero build making it easier to pick everything back up without getting totally stomped. And I've been loving your guides for that mode to help me get back into it.

I struggle a lot with sound and visual sound. I rarely find the gliders, i can’t tell where the other players are or how far away they are. And I don’t have a good strategy for catching other players off guard when I do know where they are. Figuring this out would level me up for sure. And this bites me the most in endgame.

It's interesting. My average finish over the last month since starting to watch your videos has increased a ton (from the 40s to around 10th now) and my average elims per game have improved from 1 to 3 to more like 7 to 10 now. However, I've quit getting wins lol. This is a great video that showed up just when I needed it to. Today I finished second and missed the win by 4 hp. It stung.

I struggle in worrying too much in end circles and being too much out in the open without finding cover. Whenever I find the last player, I know to put in damage but when I push the player I end up whiffing all my shots. The problem is my heart races whenever in a tense situation like that, I can’t seem to focus.
Ya i think those nerves just kinda go away with experience
i practiced on one of the custom zero build 2v2 maps and it helped a ton
One thing that helps me is to focus on your sight target rather than the opponent.. look at the X and use that as your eye to hit your shots and when you focus on that, the nerves go away.. i call it Following through on shots

I really struggle with the twin mag, which is ironic as so many pros use it as preference, my aim is good with all other weapons, it just seems to have such huge recoil. Always find a shotgun and business turret normally gets me the win, combined with movement/soaring springs aug.
I played very passive at first because, just as you said, nerves. (I started Chapter 3 season 1). But I got over it quickly. If I die, so be it, i try to take it and come back better. Obviously there are times where getting killed is unavoidable in some situations.
Great advice. I drop one of my items near the tower so I can get it back after I deposit the card.
I struggle with getting sniped. Usually top 3 situation and I get sniped from a bush
While it's getting better, my decision making in the endgame can be frustrating. I tend to play aggressive down to the last 10 people and then i tend to try and think my plan out, for example what gun to use etc. When it fails, it's always a case of shoulda, woulda, coulda....

ya it was hard to show in this vid cause i wanted to show the endgames but there was a player earlier in the game who i thought was decent that got away from me so i was just most worried about taking them out so i decided to just leave that AI since it being alive doesnt really change anything for me but it might give away someone else

I mostly die from choking the critical shotguns shots
I learned to make myself be more patient for my shotgun shots. When I rush I miss but if I take an extra half second I get a head shot.

Clix has a creative map with a shotgun room that helped me soon much. Clix aim training its called. I guarantee you see improvement.
The main. Reason i play passive is for 3rd partys thr amount of games ive lost to 3rd partying is to many to count.

I don't know if I agree with the island this season. It was that in the last two season for sure when the weapon it dropped was fantastic, but now that the shotgun it drops is kind of bad I've noticed it's just deserted way more often then it used to be and the fights don't always seem as tough as they used to be. I don't even really bother with it anymore unless I burned a slurp juice earlier or I'm bored. Aside from the week with the capture the island quest it just doesn't feel how it used to be.
Anyway the real trick to island fights is to just rocket ram the roof of the house when people are on it or trying to go on it. Nothing makes people panic like their high ground very suddenly not being there.
The hardest part for me is starting I usually dont make it past first zone and if i do its almost always a win

Agreed taking1 of the 3 radio towers most certainly increases your odds to win having that next zone visibility. However, easier said than done bc there's only 3 towers and most players are camping out waiting for someone to come and do all the work so they can spray them down while they are weak. Jake, do you hv any suggestions to help fight this? I've been using a turret to help but don't know how else to secure a radio tower.
I started being more aware of players around when I take the tower. If I notice a player trying to wait on me to finish boss I'll mobility away from boss so he's attn goes on the other person then I mobility back and 3rd party the person who tried to 3rd party me lol
Get there early and be aware that youre going to probably get third partied so pay attention to the routes other players will take to get to you. I have a question. You say in the video that creative maps are good practice. What are your thoughts on Bot Lobbies? You probably know there is a way to have any kind of match (eg solos) just full of bots. Ive played a few recently and found going into a proper match helped me think clearer and plan better.
Personally I dont think those are very helpful at all because it doesnt matter what you do vs the bots youre going to win the fight. Creative can be nice not only cause youre going to get in fights much faster than even br vs ai but also youre going to be playing against decentish players typically and sometimes even better than you would fight in actual matches. This forces you to have to play better and you will learn more from the fight imo. I dont know much about working out but id imagine you arent going to get very strong only lifting 5lb weights thats kinda how i feel about bot matches in terms of improvement.

@@EvolveJake for real lol, I hate that he used to have that happen to me a turn in the past not so much anymore. Thankfully your videos helped me a ton, just having an overall game plan and map awareness does a ton of good. Then add all the other stuff you talk about and it's like game changing lol
“Main goal is win” such loosers, main goal is to get in everybody’s face and roll, the shame I feel when the last guys is killed and I’m with single digit kills is overwhelming.
The state of Fortnite is sad to me. I find it hard to enjoy cause the only players I face seem to be pure tryhards or AI. Just makes the game unenjoyable
