    That place at 1:44 when second violin comes in is actually so stupid to count, I don’t know how many times I missed that entry 😅 ( luckily I still have some time until we’ve got to perform) Also the only reason I chose 2nd was to avoid those arpeggios in the 3rd movement ( was pretty easy as my duet partner is 5 years older than me) but I still have to practice them „for bow technique practice“ 😒😂😂

    Why is it concerto for TWO violins is transformed into something where first violin is dominating all and does not show musical respect for second solo violin. Unison is a musical line same for both soloist, but here we see a player who chose to ignore composers wish and by that she undermines her musical partner.

    • @UlimorUdamenta
      @UlimorUdamenta Před 3 lety +1

      It was intended by the composer, Vivaldi's works always highlighted the 1st violinist, no matter how many solo parts are playing. It can be theorised that he played those parts himself or his star pupils, so it would make sense for the 1st violin solo part to be super extravagant.

    Wherever Vivaldi is played there's always someone who's german or has german origins or is a fan of germany that has to point out that Bach (or Bach's version) is better....I leave to others my deepest comments, which would be very disgraceful in this lovely musical context...

      Well, that depends on the piece, though for the Baroque Era, certainly very much of the time (particularly for the Baroque Concertos, of which I've never herd one that was not the case... well... minus the way that some people play them quite seriously, though that's not part of the piece itself), I would agree in general with this statement though.

      Baroque is brilliant...I love counterpoint, fugues, trio sonatas, passacaglias - has to be played on pipe organ for me though. Have a listen to any Bach, that's where I started. I then moved upwards to Buxtehude and sideways to Bach contemporaries...Handel. For me it's the way there are separate parts with their own melody all meeting and moving apart. There are some brilliant videos on here where you can watch a visual pattern of what you are hearing so you can follow the parts. Enjoy your journey into Baroque. :-)
