  • Pokemon is enforcing the previous rules stated two months ago about selling league materials, including play promos, with stores already receiving bans from organized play for a year.

That's great to hear. I hope they were able to figure out who was selling that lot of 100 prize packs a few weeks ago and cut them off.

I have an entire video on my channel where I caught a store selling an expensive promo. Konami wasn’t very happy about it.

I honestly think a better way to handle this would be to create an app to handle and prove players are legitimately attending and participating in events and that the promo packs are being distributed in good faith. This would allow the stores to then turn around and purchase the single cards and sell them online and give players the opportunity to make more cash/credit on the cards before they rotate.

This is actually a decent idea.

Sucks that I don't play, so that's kinda the forbidden fruit for me. I get it though. Used to be the same for the build and battle prerelease kits only now I can straight up buy those at my LCS 2 weeks before a sets release. Still only 1 but would be nice if I could do that for these price packs as well.

people afraid, don't be, players will still be selling their cards and packs off. Stores my hoard their packs or their extras or simply lie about how many they have to give to players. But without packs on the market weeks before street date, it should create more pressure to go in and play. Of course some stores will still try to fence their packs through family and friends. I'm sure they have a lock down on tcgplayer at least. Time will tell how shops change. For compliant shops, this changes nothing. Pokemon are trying to push people to play, but they definately need to give stores a better help out in doing so. In time though we will see if this changes anything.

The funny part most players want stamped cards to sale and make money.
