This is sport. She might deserve a crown but she still has not got her medal just because she was too self-confident and did not pay attention to new rulings of FS federation : if it were in Vancouver, she would have won. But it was 4 years later, her jumps were technically easier than Adelina's ones, and her steps too. It's a real pity for her, she is an amazing skater, but she lost this battle before it stared because she even had no official coach who could inform her! This is sport..

      @@cath1176 what a foolish man..
Adelina- flutz(using inedge jumping lutz), too-foot landing, unclear edge uses in step sequence.
Does she really deserve gold medal? Absolutely NOT.
She CANNOT do clear lutz. Adelina's 3Lutz should have been underscored, but it did not because of unpartial judging. Yuna's was just texbook.
Adelina did too-foot landing. Do you need more explains? Lol
And More triple did not mean more higher technical score of jump.
Jumps is been scoring by quality and execution ability of jumps, not by numbers of triple jump. If your saying is true, Mao should have got highest tech.score because Mao had 8 triples.
How did you argue that Adelina's step is more harder than Yuna's? You should have know that moving arms a lot is not meaning more harder step sequence. After studying figure, if you would watch Adelinas free, you know that. Her step was full of just unclear edge uses. Plz dont overestimate Adelinas figure technics.

If Mao and Yulia hadn't fallen, she wouldn't have even gotten a medal. Yuna had a higher BV in the short and still adelina with the weakest combination and mistakes was tied with her?! (that was BS) besides you have those two scores (short and long) AND you also have PCS, the VB was only 1.5 of difference, something very easy for Yuna to compensate because she know how to do things better that sotnikova, do you know that the GOE is? Do you know that mistakes makes you loose points right? Why it's important to do the jumps in the correct way. Well Sotnikova had A LOT OF MISTAKES that were ignored, she was helped by the judges since the short program because there's no way that she had the same level of GOE that Yuna with all her experience and polished movements besides CORRECT TECHNIQUE. That's the problem, not just the technical elements (even if you don't count adelina's two foot landing, flutz etc) with only the GOE Yuna had this in the bag since the short program. Her step sequence and gestures are what I like about her. Not only she has top techniques but also, her artistry is the best in history. Actually there are no better jumpers than Yuna, and never will be, for the simple fact that her jumping technique is literally textbook perfect -- not to mention her jumps are aesthetically perfect, as well as so big in height and distance that they can only be compared to male skaters'. The only thing that's arguable is that there's never been anyone who has jumped as well as Yuna in the history of the sport. ^^

This is an olympic program, not because it was skated at the Olympics, but because it achieved something that every skater hopes to achieve: at each moment it felt like an Exhibition skate. It was free, it was sensual, it was poignant, but above all, it was real. She wasn't pretending for the judges, and she wasn't constantly thinking about rotation and transitions and the stuff of junior skaters.
She skated like a woman who has nothing to prove, and that is why, she is Queen Yuna.

Comparing to other female players they would fail definietely. And you mentioned 2axels and it is very difficult for others but easy for her. It is called inner bound position and jumps naturally. @@lina9242 I don't blame the winner girl of Sochi event, because it wasn't her the real problem, but a bigger situation than her. That russian athlete was quite a victim of what happened. Many people, unfortunately, don't even recall her name. What I honestly think, even after 8 years by now, is that the quality of the winner's skating was impossible to compare with that of Kim Yuna. There were made so many technical errors like the Lutz jump with a flat/inside edge (not called by the tecnical panel), more than one triple jump was underrotated, the combination 3-2-2 had a step out after the final loop jump. The step sequence was not intricate like that of Kim Yuna, the same for the components score. I feel sorry for that skater, it was not her fault. Yuna, from the other hand, is even now an example of fair athleticism and beauty in her sport, so she will be forever recognized as the best figure skater in the world. She has gone over the medals, she is eternal, like a hero for new generations of young people and, of course, future skaters.

This drug-use extends to Russian girl figure skaters of today, as verified by the fact that Russian girl figure skaters were caught doping in 2016 and now in 2022 at Beijing, and by the the fact that the current and longtime doctor of the Russian girls figure skating has a history of getting busted for doping athletes -- once before he was hired by the team in 2010 and twice while the team's doctor.

Yes of course. The giveaway was the huge marking up of Sotnikova vis-à-vis her previous best performance.

If one Russian wasn't going to win after the fall then the other was marked to-so ridiculously high that Yuna couldn't catch her. They fixed the rotation of the judges and scored the Russian just outside Yuna's world record.

To skate beautifully like Yuna, only natural talent and steady practice are possible. I admire it every time I see it

I don't care how many quads girls can do nowadays, I still think Yuna is the best🥰
