In 1982 the Dramatics signed to Capitol Records as a quartet. L.J. Reynolds left the group and was replaced by Craig Jones. "Treat Me Right" appeared on 1982's LP New Dimensions.
Damn, I didn't even know my favorite group had done this! Wow!!! I was a teenager when this came out and my folks had this album but I didn't even know my favorite group had done this all this time!
i remember seeing them on a local dance show called The Scene and the host asked what happen to LJ and Squirrel and Ron just said they Squirrel had retired and LJ went solo that was like 1982 or so.So long ago.
So happy to have found this song I Have been searching for it for two decades- I remember when I was ten years old and my mom used to blast this song didn’t know the group who sung it but I couldn’t forget that baseline
O MY GOD, I DID NOT KNOW THEY SONG THIS SONG, I love this song, that Ron singing O wow, sound soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. his voice is soooooo beautiful. RIP Mr Banks...............................love your music.
Heard this amazing cut in the Summer of '82 [I was at Lackland Air Force Base] AND met a woman who told me NO Lies! -- TRUTH!, the Dramatics blew this one out of the studio!
I gew up listening to TheDramatics in the 70's with Willie Gee as lead...AWESOME! I heard this song on BAI early this AM and after reviewing the harmony knew it was Ron Banks immediately. This album did not get too much airplay but being a dedicated fan, my dad bought it from Bondys on Park Row in NYC😉.
I had 10 obscure songs that I loved, and to my surprise the Dramatics accounted for SEVEN. The mystery is that they have had so many employee changes that gave them such a diverse sound. And 4 lead singers plus Mr. Banks's legendary falsetto.
I've always loved this beautiful song. It's so soothing, so sentual. So sexual. Please tell me why in the hell can't qualify songs like this be done today?? Why
@@jacquelineburwell949 EXACTLY!!! The Dramatics didn't have the Motown machine behind them, but they had "The Voices". There was nothing better than L.J., Ron, Lenny, trading off vocals on a song.
Hey, Roger...this version of the Dramatics didn't last long and they didn't record a video. This was on the Fantasy label right after LJ Reynolds temporarily left the group.
I love this song 🎵 searched a long time for this song

This was on Capitol records. They signed to Fantasy when LJ returned a few years later.
