Thanks for watching! - Zábava
this is my U-boat I talked to Bob about a year ago I decided what I wanted & he finished up his current projects & went with this model very happy !!!
I've been inside a type VIIC - U-995, it was at the Laboe naval memorial in Germany. It was quite cramped on the inside, but an interesting experience to be inside a real Type VII, I would highly recommend the museum.
I watch this video once a week.. your attention too detail amazing! Thank you !
You have done a masterful job on this boat, Bob!
What a fantastic job mate I've been modeling for over 50yrs and this is one of the best modeling skills I've seen in a long time. Congratulations 👍
Amazing rust work! I'm currently building a rusted tugboat; these tips will help immensely!
Wow Bob great job you've done there an amazing piece. Good music too.
That my friend is an awesome Uboot! Great detail. A masterpiece!!.
nice work with your submarine - i love it how you done your work - fantastic !!!!!!!!! great job - pls more
That submarine is beautiful. You made it look like it had been screwed up by real rain and shine.
Real hot shot Tips!...thanks a lot . As a modeler I really appreciated it.
Wao..!
Very impressive model and the tooth paste trick is good.!
Congratulations friend, amazing and fantástic job. This submarine is giant, I enjoy your vídeo. I send you a strong hug from México City.
I always enjoy your videos...always masterpieces Bob.
Beautiful Bob. Wish I was that talented. Customer must be well pleased BTW, it was a pleasure meeting you.
Just amazing work! Keep it up!
It looks so cool, I get mine on Christmas 🤗
Looks brilliant. Great skills 👍🏻
Really great job! Well done. I learned many useful tips. Tnx.
Very nice work !!!
Wow Mate, very talented great job and good tips.
nice work Bob!
very nice Work looks great
Nice job. Congratulations.
Hey man, I´m from Brazil and I liked your job!!
You did a great job here - looks really good. A very minor suggestion is to add a bit of marine fouling (sea grass) along the waterline. I've done this by "dry stippling" using a mid to dark green. [The reason: antifouling paints weren't that effective back then and usually seagrass would appear after 4 moths or so on the hull after the boat was in the water..]
Well done, I'll try this on my own model (german submarine type ix c/40). this video will help.
leendert from the netherlands
Awesome job.
Nice painting tips will use this on my first German Uboat :)
Well done!!!
Good job !😊
You could try using weathering products from AK interactive or Mig Ammo if you want to. But great weathering!, the Arkmodel U-boat is definitely on my wish list for Christmas.
Outstanding
Exelente work exelente congradelations
Thank you for these video.
Maximum Respect. You are Master.I never did this weathering, but i wanna learn it.I always have some excuses like》Oh my modell has no weathing cause it it is new and coming straight out of Bloom and Voß😁
However i should learn this on a smaller modell and then when i know how to do it,goin to a bigger modell.
Anyway.Great Work🔝
Fantastic Job pal !!
Excellent work man! This is helpful
My lovely ship!
well so beautiful model, stunning painting and weathering, very nice job you've done in the sub, I'd like to send some help my suggestion is to invert the propellers, these submarines turned props outboard to pull ahead, so as you've put the reverse, the prop with left hand blades is to be port, and right hand to be starboard, that is more correct and real.
BEAUTIFUL MODEL , AND , BUILD ... EXCEPT , FOR THAT DAMN SNOWBALL FLAG ! !
Amazing!
Good job
nice job I'll try that on mine
Hi Bob,best yet great effect.Bill in Ireland.
hi have you always been good at modelling..ive just started and I suck..great job..thx mark from the uk..
MARK ATKINS RC Absolutely not! Everything I know I taught myself or learned from others. It's taken me 17 years to get to this point. Don't get discouraged!

Great work my friend! I got a German Submarine TYPE IXC-40 (U 190) that what will I start. Great tips!
Krylon primer , perfect !
Well done. Torpedo los!
A German u-boat is my favorite submarine
I only have two questions can apply this to different scales such as 1/72 nd scale and does it smell minty fresh.
Fantastico . De museo..
Боги,как они красивы❤️
Good
Which Primer what habe Rusty color do you use?
nice video bob, ps i'm looking forward on testing an trimming my engel akula.
May i ask in your opinion, are the moulded details too heavy for a 1/48 type vii? i m quite torn between this arkmodel and engel's type vii. thank you for sharing your video. very nice work.
I find the details just fine, myself, but I'm not a stickler for rivet-by-rivet accuracy. If you're after a perfect model, this is not it. If you're after a perfect model for R/C, this is close. I find having slightly larger details on things such as rivets a benefit for R/C operation as you're operating at a large distance and small details get lost. I highly recommend the Arkmodel kit.
thank you for the painting ideas, I really like the acrylic medium and pastel. I figure chalk dust would work similarly? and have been any attempts at fpv subs? a camera in the conning tower would be a great perspective, or is it too much of an issue with water?
Unfortunately, wireless video signals are in the GHz range, and as such do not penetrate water at all. I find it much better to simply mount an HD camera in/on the boat and download the video back on shore. I have several videos that feature onboard footage such as my recent Type VII in 1/32 scale (Maiden Voyage)
RCSubGuy right! I hadn't thought of the signal issue, though I figured it had to be a technical problem, every hobby seems to be adding fpv view to a wireless headset after the popularity of drones. but running an umbilical isn't exactly practical to maintain signal heh.
Hi Bob, you make reference to pastels in your painting instructional video .Here in the UK they would be seen as pencils with chalk centres, but yours appears to be something else. What do you use?
They're called chalk pastels here.
Which Color you used for the Airbrush stripes ? ( min 8:00)
Loks awesome your Paintjob !
I Start with weathering next week, first time i use a Airbrush, hope it will be good ..
What paint do you use
Toothpaste is interesting I use chipping medium and then just toothpicks and Q-tips
Ware on the bote is the vent for balist tanks go
👍👍👍
Where is your shop in Naples? What is it called.
I just want to buy one built!!!
i see a lot of connectors inside the wet hull. are they also stainless or does water not effect them over time anyway? have you done any special thing to prevent the water going into the cable itself? great painting skills by the way
The connections see a small dallop of grease on the exposed connections, which is more than adequate to protect them due to the very low current that runs through them. As this model operates at very shallow depth, pressure forcing water into the wires is not a concern.
RCSubGuy one more question. you told that the ballast module will pump air out of the ballast tank so water will get sucked in as ballast. the pressurised air will go into the electronics space. does this mean that in theorie the water from the ballast tank can go to the electronics area when the airpump is working while the sub will be on its side so it woll suck water in the pump? wouldn't it be more safe to use a bag in the ballast tank full of air connected to the pump. when he air is sucked out the bag will get smaller and makes space for je water but water will stay seperated from the air
I'm afraid you're mistaken. In this build, air is vented out of the cylinder via the solenoid. To surface, the periscope breaks the water's surface, the air pump is engaged, and air is blown into the ballast tank, displacing the water.
RCSubGuy maybe it was an other uboat in your movies. i watched several of them on a row but you talked about that the air in the electronics area got pressurised with air from the ballast area if i am not mistaken. maybe i am wrong. but if not how can you have a fail safe system if you go to deep or loose radio connection? for that you should have commpressed air on board i would say or is rhe fail safe. full throttle and planes up?
This model is ballasted positively buoyant. No matter what happens (barring a catastrophic leak), it will always surface.
great video. new to the hobby. just one comment. spraying your garden hose with power meter behind it.... 99 out of 100 times probably no problem. but then there's that other time.
Oh heavens! Guess I should build a shed around it in case it rains, too, right? ;P
ok, I understand your issue. What I meant is that you could simply avoid to add a flag to increase historical fidelity, because it was mainly used while staying in the harbour for political propaganda and was removed on action. Anyway, great work!
I live in Charlotte County. Could I come by and see what you have for sale? And I would love to see your shop? JC Rotonda West, Florida
Hi bob, can you give your paint reference ? Nice job . Hello from France
just saying but there would be a tone of rust around the breech and in the breech where the water drained out
Hi there. Considering to get one but yes I have a few concerns about quality like you mentioned in the video because it's made in China...?
Do you have any video showing the construction sites explaining everything in detail, such as where do we have to really be careful, and so forth, because I never made a RC sub...so I'm trying to gather up knowledges/skills how to handle these RC subs. before buying and doing something.
Thank you
A full buildup front to back? No, sorry. I don't have one for this boat. The hull goes together exceptionally well, however, just like a big plastic model kit.
puff some fine ground charcoal...that gives the surface a battle wary look..........
Donde puedo encontrar las ametrayadoras del submarino las estoy buscando
did you use airbrush?
Yes, lightly for weathering panel lines and recesses. The rest was spray paint, pastels and acrylics.
Did I hear Wright $500 for the model kit and no brass etched parts?
where can i buy these models?
www.arkmodel.com out of China.
yea you know i leave in greece and i like this subs like hell and i thought if you know any sites that i can order them or something?
Currently building Lindberg’s 1/72 IJN I -53 Japanese submarine. Want to thank you very much for all the tips. You did a beautiful job on it. But honestly the company (not you) that builds it is charging way to much. When you said the price ($500 USD) I thought for sure it was the cut-a-way version with the detailed interior. Mine is 58.5 inches finished and I paid about half that in Canadian dollars, which would be about $190 USD. You should put the swastika on it. It’s history and the hell with these SJW’s and their safe spaces. People need to grow a set. This is historical fact, and facts don’t care about you feelings. But again beautiful build and thanks for all you advice.👍👍🇨🇦

In real u-boat
Sorry your background music is too high. It is covering you up. Good luck.

I get annoyed with the scale sizes nowadays I used to work in 1.24 model cars years ago that's what I started off with then stopped for 10 or so years family started now back into it even bigger with 1.35 sca military kits I got a 1.35 patrol boat it is so cool i wanted it in a larger scale so found one in a 1.48 its beautiful n only 60 bucks for the kit, but this is whare it gets annoying I got a 1.48 scale Matilda 2 tank thinking it would go with the size and shes smaller than the 1.35 tanks I was so peed off! I don't understand why they do this make it larger in ships! If my 1.35 patrol boat was tiny I'd understand that the 1.48 is ment to ba an accurate scales of the the real thing but the 1.35 goes with the 1.35 sized tanks n atv armored vehicles etc I do!? So yeh annoyed at kinda wasting money on the Matilda 1.48 when shes smaller than the 1.35!
I love the Trumpeter uboat for around 450 with the leds and open hull with the clear panel side so you can see all the crew and details that kit looks absolutely stunning I love this u boat in either kit I'm saving one just now but keep dipping into it buying other kits and the new modern resin figures for my British husky atv diarama for Iraq
Good type ww2 ww1
EN FRANCAIS CE SERAIS MIEUX
The flag without the swastica is not historical . better leave , the flag is used only in the harbour , never in open sea . Great work
but fantasy model .
Of course I know that the flag is missing the swastika. You have no idea the backlash that I and other have received over displaying the swastika on models or even playing the kriegsmarine anthem in the background of one of our videos. The flag came like that from the manufacturer, likely for those same reasons.
The model is displayed in harbor trim. What is fantasy about that? 99% of it's time will be on a display shelf, not in the water.
Please, please, please, turn the music down.
What happens if the U-Boat has just come out of the builders and gets bombed.by allied fighter bombers? Then there would be no rust.
artists masking fluid..............................................
Put the swastika on the flag or leave it off completely. The flag ruins the looks of the model. Awesome job btw.

about the flag youtube regulations!😶
Very many say, very many face author((((
hate the fact that hitler ruined a religious symbol meant for buddism...
You paid such attention to detail but either did not put, or you blocked out the swastika on the naval flag. If you are going to do a WWII German U-Boat, you have to make it authentic. Political correctness will be the death of us.
I agree, Warren. The flag was the one supplied with the kit. Too many people prefer to ignore our history, whitewash it and pretend it didn't happen. Provided we learn from the mistakes we, as a race, make, we should not hide from our past.
