  • This is a project that was originally commissioned of me by a customer, but he ended up cancelling the order halfway through the build.
    I hate to see things unfinished, so I decided to complete the buildup anyway.
    The tower kit comes from OTW Designs out of the UK. This tower should be suitable for static display or for mounting on an RC hull.
    Be sure to check out my site at www. nautilusdrydocks.com for this and many other projects.

    Early in the war the decks were timber [teak]. Those supplies dried up and they could'nt get anymore. The later uboats used steel with a non slip coating . Cheers peter

    Bob, Outstanding work! I've been scale modeling now for many years. Mostly aircraft, but others as well. I'm considering Revell's 1/72 scale Type IXC/40 as a display model. From what I've seen this model has a significant amount of detail when compared to it's Type VIIC variant from Revell at a fraction of the cost, (just under $80 on Amazon). Do you recommend this scale as a display model, or would you say that this scale is better suited for RC?

      72nd makes it a sizable display model. I am a big model type of guy, so I, for one, love the big scale of these boats.

      La torre se puede pedir a través de mi empresa. Es un producto GRP fabricado en el Reino Unido. Envíeme un correo electrónico a bob@rc-sub.com y puedo brindarle más detalles.

    Yeah sure, u-boats were rusty old war machines. The more rust, the better right. This is just ridiculous..

    • @RCSubGuy
      @RCSubGuy  Před 7 lety +5

      effen0174 . So you're saying that all uboats were pristine vessels, that months at sea had no effect on their steel hulls, and that a finish like this is not realistic? Speaking of ridiculous...
