That voice sounded like the watcher
@@mithrandir404 I can tell you who it is if you want
One of my favorite aspects was that Druig and Makkaris relationship wasn’t in the script. It was put it after the amazing chemistry between the two actors
came to the comments to see if someone had already said this lol. I absolutely *loved* their chemistry. it just came off way more meaningful and authentic than any of the other relationships. it’s unfortunate that they’re semi-background characters though.
czcams.com/video/FDeHfFJuuG8/video.html 🕷🕷❤️
it really is the best part of the movie and i stand by that forever.
I only watch for their like 3 1/2 scenes
Druig and Makkari did in two scenes what Sersi and Ikaris where supposed to do throughout the entire movie.
actual perfect comment
Yeah, Sersi and Dane had better chemistry.
Yeah, chemistry is everything...and Gemma Chan/Richard Madden didn't have it.
Drukkari supremacy. We need more of them asap
@@donkeydarko77 idk why they didn't have became they are friends for years now
even Dane and Sersi had more chemistry
Also Ikaris and Thena also had little bit of chemistry i saw
I really got the feeling that Thena was dealing with some sort of PTSD from the memories she had of previous worlds dying to the point where it was breaking her mind causing confusion, lashing out, fear, etc. The part where Gilgamesh says the Deviant attack triggered her was a big giveaway for this too.
And the last cut scenes make me thing that thanos was having the same PTSD too
One of the reasons why they're not just "a robot"
That's....... that's exactly what it is???? It's literally mentioned in the comics. 🙃
@@jaypenhypenjay3654 they're not "robots." They're synthetic beings. This simply means they're not made using an egg and a sperm. They still have emotions and feelings lol.
@@Orion_TheyThem that's literally whst i said
Makkari and Druig were never meant to be linked at all, but Chloe saw the immediate chemistry between Lauren Ridloff and Barry Keoghan and tweaked the script to incorporate their relationship. And now hilariously Druig and Makkari have now become fan-favorites...just goes to show what an incredible job those two are doing
"Is he related to King Arthur?"
Actually, yes. Dane's ancestor was Sir Percival of the Knights of the Round Table, Arthur's cousin. In the comics, Dane wields the cursed Ebony Blade (Sprite and Thena mentioned it and Excalibur) and operates under the name 'Black Knight'.
And for a time the Black Knight was actually leader of the avengers
I knew he was related to someone of the round table with King Arthur, but I didn’t know that Sir Percival and King Arthur were cousins.
The Black Knight in the Marvel comics Anti-hero who can be good or bad that it seems Kit Harrington will be playing this character in future films. But the introduction of Black Knight means there are now Vampires in the MCU and the voice you hear in that scene is actor Mahershala Ali who has been cast to play Blade the Vampire killer in the MCU. And because the Ebony Blade is now in the MCU, it also means Excalibur will soon be in the MCU and this was carried by the character Brian Braddock who is Captain Britain. So with Black Knight, Blade and Captain Britain you have 3 new 'British' Marvel heroes in the MCU. In comic Blade was British, but because African American actors can't do British accents, he has been American in movies.
@@Delboy0 oh I was thinking Kit and Blade could start the midnight suns/sons idk
@@Delboy0 and if they introduce Brian they have to introduce his sister Psylocke
The sword at the end is the Ebony Blade, the Sword of Black Knight (goes into King Arthur/Captain Britain etc)
Also Stan Lee didn’t write ALL of these stories, he created a lot of the main characters, Hulk, Thor, Ironman, Spider-Man etc and wrote a lot of comics but a lot of the comics that the films are based on he didn’t write. For example, the Infinity Gauntlet (the story of Infinity War film was based on) was written in 1991 by Jim Starlin.
The eternals/celestials in particular were Jack Kirby’s creation and a damn good one at that
@@moldyzucchinis3251 and that was Kirby ripping himself off. He created the Eternals after DCs fourth world (aka Darkseid etc) and DC cancelled his run early due to laughing sales. So he went back to Marvel and created the Eternals etc.
Stan Lee CO-created a lof the main characters.
Absolutely, it does get a bit tiring when people think Stan was the be all and end all of Marvel.
@@melvyncollins7305 The majority of early Marvel was due to Stan, Jack and Steve Ditko. Once you get to the 70's its a whole other story.
The thing I really liked about this film, was how the main protagonist, was essentially a pacifist. She was a caregiver, and provider. Not a warrior. And they point that the reason she was the one to lead them, was she had the most compassion, and empathy for the people of Earth. I dunno, I just, liked seeing a main hero, who wasn't the main hero because of their ability to kick ass, but because of their ability to care for others.
Thats a lovely point
Yes, and honestly, this is why I love this movie and am so sad when I see people hate on it. They think a hero needs to be all bad***, they don’t even think that compassion can be a good quality for a hero
@@taylorhall1988 yeah, it's one of the things i liked about the first Aquaman movie too. How the final "fight" isn't really one. He shows up and is like "Bro! You're doing all this 'cause you think the land dwellers killed mom! Well she's right here! Let's stop this killing over literally nothing!" and the villain agrees! He's like "oh....well....shit....I feel bad now." and surrenders.
I'm so infatuated with both this movie and people's reactions after watching it. I know the story in the film itself isn't as good as something like Captain America Civil War or Iron Man, but there's something about this movie that continues to draw me in after watching it. Maybe it's because it's been so divisive. Also this film has some of the best cinematography I've seen in a long time. Chloé Zhao is truly the director to beat at the moment shot wise
Kingo leaving was because he refused to fight his family. Any of them. Regardless of the stakes, it wasn’t worth it to him to choose between fighting one group of his family or another group of his family. He had so much love for all of them that he’d rather sit on the sidelines and let whatever happens, happen. Anything, even death, is better than destroying your loved ones, regardless of their faults or poor choices.
Absolutely. I'm glad he stayed true to himself and stayed away, instead of doing that showing up at the ladt minute to turn the tide of battle trope.
Also, from his perspective he could live with the outcome either way. If the emergence was stopped, Earth would survive and he would continue to enjoy it. If the emergence happened, the will of their god would have been fulfilled.
He literally said he agrees with Ikaris though.
@@Tremain He agrees with Ikaris that they don’t necessarily have the right to kill a Celestial and prevent the trillions of lives that they would create but at the same time he refuses to fight his family over it and loves humanity and wants them to survive
Damn bro.. that had some serious feels. Nice wording!
The Eternals were actually created by Jack Kirby (who also created Thor, Captain America, and The Silver Surfer) not Stan Lee. They actually gave credit to him at the beginning of the movie.
And most marvel stories were not written by stan, but alot were written by stan and kirby in early marvel, but not later marvel.
@@TheCell111 Yeah most of the characters that are credited as Stan's were as equally created by jack. It sucks that he's been overshadowed.
@@eggnotegg Cause he died way too early and Stan Lee has become the face of marvel ever since.

Well, i guess that kinda explains why i don't like any of thosw characters haha
The mysterious voice at the end was Mahershela Ali as The character Blade. Kitts character Dane is Black Knight. He’s a superhero with a magic sword. Since they are connecting him to blade I assume they will have him lean into the supernatural more going forward.
Dane's line about his family tree being complicated stems from his ancestral connections to historical figures who weilded the Ebony Blade which is cursed. That's why he hesitated to open up the box. The voice is setting up another character who will be joining the MCU soon. It has been speculated that the voice sounded like that of Merershala Ali who is signed up to play Blade in an upcoming film.
Actually it's no longer speculated. It was confirmed that it was Blade at the end of the movie.
The director of this film (Chloe Zhao), confirmed in an interview that the voice heard in the post-credits scene is that of the actor (Oscar winner) Mahershala Ali, who was confirmed by Marvel as the actor who will play " Blade" (the vampire hunter).

I personally liked that a character actually said "I agree with the bad guy but not enough to kill my friends" and just peaced out, that is a very interesting and realistic choice. Also the fact that it could be argued that the good guys were wrong, after all celestials create new worlds and STARS preventing the eventual heat death of the entire universe. That said this whole thing felt like a DC movie in that they tell you that you're supposed to care about this people and their relationships but it does nothing to actually get us to care.
Perfect wrap up. Also helped my figure out what my problem with even the DC movies I like has been. THANKS!!!
Hahahah should've read the comments first, I just posted that and you got to it 7 hours before me hahaha.
Agreed. Kingo stuck to his guns, even though he knew what it could mean.
I agree with your assessment it makes sense, but how are we sure that Arishem was telling them the whole truth? Or the truth that all for that matter, maybe he was just telling them what he needed to tell them to get them to comply.
@@marcreid8978 Well we don't know if he was lying or not, but i think the fact that he is letting them justify their decision instead of just destroying them at the end is a good sign.
I was really suprised how much I liked this movie. The negative reception it got when it released in theaters was wild. I expected some straight up donkey dookie but what I got was a pretty enjoyable film with some cool visuals, fun action sequences, new concepts & some neat characters.
Yeah, I don't get it either. Like it has obvious problems and I'm not going to act like its some perfect movie, but it doesn't do anything worse than the average marvel movie IMO.
It has some of the most genuinely breathtaking scenery in the MCU, and has probably *the* best *scaling* as far as size I have ever seen in any movie, not just in MCU. Like that visual with the Celestial (blanking on the spelling of his name, Asherim?) looking over the Earth is fucking incredible. I'm so worried that if the Celestials ever appear in Marvel again that it will fail to capture the scope like this movie did.
czcams.com/video/FDeHfFJuuG8/video.html 🕷🕷❤️
The reason why Sersi hadn't turned the deviants into something else before is because, as she mentioned before to Dane, she can't turn living things into something else. That's why they were all surprised when Sersi turned a deviant into a tree.

@@chinmaygyamlani Definitely a one and done. It didn't get nearly enough hype as it should, but that doesn't mean they can't bring back characters in other movies.
They pushed a lot of the release dates back because of the Strange 2 reshoots, so I seriously doubt there's any room for Eternals 2 with every other upcoming confirmed thing.
For me I love the concept but as for the execution it's alright
I just love the fact that Natalie doesn't know anything about Kit Harrington's character at the beginning and yelling "don't die ,don't die"😂
1) Thanos was an Eternal. He wanted to stop the Celestials and that's why he had his mission.
2) The Uni-Mind at the end was caused by the emergence. The Eternals connected to Tiamut and that led to the increased power boost.
3) Kitt Harrington is going to play as a hero called "The Black Knight". That sword was the Ebony Blade and it was forged by Merlin. This is his family secret.
4) It was MESSED UP hearing Kitt Harrington and Richard Madden both saying "I love you Sersi."

He was actually part Eternal and Deviant in the comics. That's why this movie makes no sense and is terrible.
To answer some of the questions, Dane had the Ebony Blade, it's basically a dark Excalibur that gives magical resistance/immunity and can cut through basically anything but at the cost of gaining bloodlust and lost sanity, it comes from back in Medieval times with his ancestor Percival from Arthurian legends (often called Percy of Scandia in the comics). the voice at the end of his credits scene is the voice of Mahershala Ali portraying the character of Blade, a half-human half-vampire vampire hunter. Blade has movies that were made prior to the MCU existing with Wesley Snipes in the title role and Marvel confirmed a few years back that Mahershala will also be getting his own Blade movie at some point.
As far as the MCU goes, you currently have Hawkeye and No Way Home left to watch, then you'll be caught up on Phase 4 until Moon Knight in March and Multiverse of Madness in May. I would highly recommend watching the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies before watching No Way Home if you haven't already, I won't say much more other than the trailer shows that some of the villains from those movies show up in No Way Home.
As far as other stuff to watch in the MCU I'd recommend the non-Disney+ shows, there's 11 (arguably 12) of them with 28 seasons between them, they are Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Inhumans, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders, Punisher, Runaways, and Cloak & Dagger. Some would argue they aren't necessarily required viewing, but Marvel does seem to be using at least some of those characters again, so it would be helpful to better understand who those characters are and everything. At the very least watch Agent Carter, as it's Peggy's show that takes place after Captain America 1, and the 6 Netflix shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders, and Punisher) as Marvel has pulled characters from those already, and will likely continue to do so, that cuts you down from 28 seasons to 15. I'd also recommend the 3 Fantastic Four movies, if only because you're almost done with the X-Men movies and because Marvel has announced that they are making a Fantastic Four movie. Most agree the 3 Fantastic Four movies aren't exactly the best movies, but they'll at least give you an idea of who the characters are and everything for the upcoming movie.

Hey Nat!!! just saw this movie too! As to your question, Dane Whitman is the direct descendant of the Black Knight. The sword in the end credit scene he was planning to hold is the legendary Ebony Blade. Wielding it (or just possessing it i think), makes him at par with Captain America in terms of abilities. In fact, in the comic books, the Black Knight actually became the leader of the Avengers at one point. Problem is, the Ebony blade comes with a curse. Every time it kills, it traps a soul in the blade. And the wielder begins hearing all those souls he killed over time. It thus drives the wielder mad over time.
There is actually a scene in the middle of the movie, when all the Eternals are in the ship, where Thena is wielding a sword and Sprite asks if it is the Ebony Blade. Thena then answers that it is Excalibur. This causes Sprite to remark that "Arthur always had a crush on you."

Stan Lee didn't have anything to do with the Eternals comic characters, they were fully created by Jack "the King" Kirby, written and drawn by him, and first debuted in 1976.
Although Stan Lee had a hand in co-creating a TON of Marvel characters, he mostly stopped writing in the early seventies and Jack Kirby went to DC Comics to work on some of his creations like the New Gods, but then came back to Marvel to keep working on ideas that interested him, stuff like "ancient aliens" and we saw a lot of that in the Eternals movie! = )

I loved watching your reactions, and share your hope that we get a proper sequel; this truly was a beautiful chapter both in the sense of the MCU and as it’s own story. I share the opinion that this movie always needed a follow up and these characters are meant for multiple appearances; it’s the only true way to really naturally get us so invested in 10+ new faces.
I really loved how some of these relationships just feel like they happen without explanation. That feels so much more like your real nonbiological family. You know that group you've been with for life where relationships evolve through time? That's what this film feels like. Just spread out through centuries and told from their perspectives. Marvel always had a knack for character perspective. In the case of finding out the moment one of these relationships evolves we don't need to see it if it doesn't serve the story. It just hampers the story down.
I love the diverse cast in this. The actor who plays Gilgamesh is credited as "Don Lee" but is actually called Ma Dong-seok, and played the badass husband character in Train to Busan. You know, the one that fought zombies by punching them. Standout actor of this movie for me, loved his performance
I love that it feels natural too. A lot of people have qualms with forced diversity and shoehorning it in in a way that takes away from lore/character, but it makes perfect sense here to have these guardians of all of humanity represent... well, all of humanity
He was incredible in Train to Busan (and was my favorite part of Eternals).
@@ztlabraptor211 And also they are literally made, not evolved or gentrified in any other way. So there's no "lore" excuse for an all-white cast, for example. Totally agree with your thoughts, that's why a lot of people thought it should have been broken into a Disney Plus series like WandaVision, Loki, What If, etc. I personally would have been down for keeping it as a movie but making it longer; a 3-4 hour version like the Snyder Cut of Justice League, because again like what you said at the end. makkari’s speedster scenes were definitely my favorite out of quicksilver and flash, the “slow motion” scenes for other speedsters is so overdone. her scenes were insanely cool to watch.

Every comic written by Stan Lee is a very very generous statement. Eternals is Jack Kirby’s baby, Stan was not sole creator of everything you’ve seen, hell x-men flopped and got canceled when he was writing it
Marvel is collaborative and every character you’ve seen is thanks to multiple writers and artists, but yeah Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were basically the ones to build the bedrock and a good portion of the A-list marvel characters
Yep, Eternals exists because Jack read Chariots of the Gods one too many times. Stan had nothing to to with it.

Well the comics deal with universe uber beings in different ways depending on who was doing the comics, so it changes over the decades. Many were shown in the "Infinity stones" series of comic books with Thanos.
Lauren Ridloff whom is also in The Walking Dead is actually deaf which I wasn't certain of, so her scream near the end of the movie really caught me off guard.
I really, really enjoyed that movie. It's probably one of my favorite in the MCU. I actually got more attached to these characters than for Sam, Vision, Hawkeye, War Machine and others in the movies they first appeared (I'm talking before the tv shows on Disney +). Here, at the end of the movie, it feels like you learnt at least one important thing about each character, about their personality. I don't understand how people couldn't care about these characters when for the first time they all feel really human (even if they're not ahah). So many interesting themes are developed: love, family, mental illness, second chances, loyalty, beliefs, betrayal, helplessness,... It's a love letter to our planet, to humanity and to these human feelings. Moreover, the relationships between the characters are in my opinion pretty well developed. It's not like one big family in which everyone has the same relationship. You can see that some characters are closer than others, that some characters resent other characters,.... For a 2 hour movie with this huge cast....I think they did pretty good.
Earlier in the movie, Sprite named dropped a sword called the Ebony Blade. That scene when Dane opened the chest, that’s the actual Ebony Blade. One specific detail I know from the comics is that the sword itself has a curse in which it feeds off your dark personalities.
Eventually, just like in the comics, Dane will become the Black Knight.
Dane is Black Knight in the comics so they're giving him the sword for the next movie. As for the mysterious voice, it's probably Blade, who'll have his own movie soon
I haven’t ready any of the comics. But I must say I’m pretty stoked for this. Can’t wait for a darker MCU, with DSitMoM, Morbius, Moon Knight, Blade and as you say Black Knight.
The voice was blade, it was there way to hint him since as you mentioned blade has his movie soon
The ending credits with the bf, the sword, and mysterious voice is setting for “blade the vampire hunter” (mysterious voice) and Dan as the “black knight”
Omg I was waiting for this one for so long
i think this is one of my favorite marvel movies. im very easily entertained, but this one was just so satisfying to watch!
Same! The only thing I dislike is that there’s a lot of stuff that got cut out but that’s it. This movie is amazing!
Eternals is a movie you need to watch for yourself. Ignore all the negativity directed at this film and just watch it. I really enjoyed it, and watching along with Natalie with her love of characters made me enjoy it even more. An underrated modern day adventure. Thanks for your fantastic reaction Nat 💛
Was waiting for this reaction!!!!
what i like is that ajak coming to the realization about Earth being special isn't singling Earth out as the best, but acknowledging that many other planets probably had different forms of intelligent or dominant life; plus we find out at the end that there are other eternals across the universe that came to a similar impass.
Dane’s secret is that he is the “Black Knight”
It’s kind of like a family curse. The sword he was looking at is the “Ebony Blade” and it corrupts its user the more that it is used. Think of it like the ring from Lord of the rings…. Lol
I'm a street-level superhero fan (Daredevil, Batman, Green Arrow, etc), so bigger scale stuff doesn't usually work for me, but I enjoyed this one. Well-acted, well shot, effects looked really good.
this is one of my favorite marvel movies. i am not even really sure what draws me in but i cannot stop rewatching it.
I love your energy throughout this video 😂
I liked the Eternals. I’d agree it isn’t a top 10 MCU movie for me but I understand that the Eternals ushers in bee story arcs for the MCU. I thought First Avenger was ok but after the journey of the MCU. The movie is much better after knowing what it leads to. Same as with The Dark World. This type of movie watching where the pay off might be years away isn’t for everyone. But it’s great for me.
I'm definitely ready and excited for more Cosmic Marvel stories, the bigger picture to the Marvelverse, not just humans. The marvel universe has some really interesting judeo christian ties to mythology from its inception from it's writers, as well as we see here in the eternals other mythologies like Gilgamesh or Icarus or Thena. I know for Thor Love and Thunder we're going to be seeing whole pantheons of gods with Gorr the God Butcher going on a tirade against all gods. I know we're going to see Zeus and some other Olympian gods enter the fray.
Curse your profile picture... 🤣
@@ssicamon1927 whose? Mine or Cz?
@@walterroux291 @CZseventyfive pfp, lol! I thought it was something on my screen and kept wiping my phone. 😅
I actually really enjoyed this movie and I watched some of the deleted scenes and there are a few that o wish made the final cut
The voice at the end is Mareshela Ali who is playing blade. They are setting up what is called the Midnight Sons which includes Blade, The Black Knight, and Moon Knight.
Dane (played by the actor that played Jon Snow) that magical cursed sword is the Ebony Blade, and that ring he gets hint that he will become the Marvel character *Black Knight* and the voice that talks to him in the after credit scene is the Vampire Hunter BLADE whose a half-vampire "day walker" also from Marvel Comics
So kit harington's character is the Black Knight, mysterious voice was Mahershala Ali as blade
So, we GOT Kit Harrington (Jon Smow ---> Dane Whitman), Richard Madden (Robb Stark ---> Ikaris), Ramin Djawadi (music composer) and a character named Sersi (the other one is spelled Cersei).
The GOT connection is strong with this one. And I truly enjoyed it.
Almost all are Greek Demi-Gods. I'm surprised and not at the same time they didn't include Ariadne!
Hilariously about Makkari and Druig, they weren’t written to have love interest in either of each other but the two Afters had such great on screen chemistry that they wrote it in
Perfect timing, I literally just watched this movie for the first time today. I like the characters and I also enjoyed the DC easter eggs/references in this movie.
Basically The Eternals was Jack Kirby trying to continue on ideas he was never able to finish when DC cancelled his New Gods (Darkseid etc) books, so those references were absolutely appropriate.
It's a slow burn also it's a lot of mythology for the movie length that hurts it but it's acted very well and has really good allegories.
The first time i saw the movie, the pace bother me, it feels like it was kinda long but at the same time, it needed more time for the characters, it was visually stunning that's for sure.
But in my rewatch, ithe pace didn't bother me, i enjoyed more the characters and i got so many details and hints, for example: The intro text is a lie, it what the eternals believe, the movie has a lot of rewatch value.
Kinda same, I saw lots of problems with it on first watch but on rewatch the elements I did like somehow outshined the initial problems I saw and I really like it now
It had too many pointless plots. The talking deviant could be completely cut out of the movie and not affect a thing.
@@misterkite then you're cutting out the reason why they're on Earth in the first place. 💀
@@jasutin_desu That's explained by the celestial.
Dane is a Hero in the comics, "The Black Knight". The sword is the Ebony Blade (The sword mentioned when Thena was wielding Excalibur), a very powerful cursed weapon that corrupts the wielder with every person they kill with it. Dane's Uncle was the previous Black Knight, who was a villain. In the Comics, Dane was an Avenger. The voice at the end was Mahershala Ali, who is playing Blade in the MCU (Blade is a half vampire who hunts vampires and was played in previous movies by Wesley Snipes). Starfox AKA Eros was also an Avenger though his powers are a bit problematic these days as they boil down to making women fall in love with him (and yes it is as creepy as that implies) and yes he is Thanos' brother. Thanos had Deviant genes so they could have fought him if they wanted but the Snap actually saved Earth. It was them bringing everyone back that triggered the emergence as they needed enough people to trigger it.
The last post credit scene was the origin of the black knight. the sword could be one of three a magical king Arthur type sword, a cursed sword that if ever tastes blood drives its bearer blood thirsty . The black knight also had at one point the sword which was used to decapitate the celestial who's head was in GOG . Oh and the voice was blade. My guess is he has the cursed sword because it came from Dracula so it would make sense for blade to show up to warn him about it .
Just to let you know this movie is the perfect representation of everything Chloe Zhao wanted. She has revealed in several interviews that she got full creative freedom to do whatever the hell she wanted.
Now it may seem like a company like disney might be very controlling of the directors (which is probably true for other disney movies) but fortunately Marvel Studios under Kevin Feige is very well known to be very respectful of the directors and actors working for them.
James Gunn has told that Marvel let him to his thing and the only directions he go was:
-Explain the infinity stones
-Introduce Thanos.
Yeah which was a mistake Marvel should have more control if this gets a sequel
-"to do whatever the hell she wanted"
That's the problem.
-"very respectful of the directors and actors"
Just not the source material apparently. I'm so tired of these tokenized, race swapped and gender swapped characters.
Edgar Wright never got that control with Antman which is one of the biggest shames of the MCU :(
@@rl8259 I hope there's a sequel with Chloe and with the same freedom. I love the concepts, it's one of the best MCU movies imo.
EASILY the best Marvel title intro. Didn't knew I needed Pink Floyd with Marvel until Chloe made me need that. LOL
Been waiting for this one. I honestly don’t understand the “hate” this film got. Is it one of Marvel’s best? No, but it’s definitely not the worst.
Are you familiar with the comics? This movie doesn't do the source material justice, but yeah it's just a bland movie
@@AnuarAzar I love it
@@SamWh1t3 glad you love it
I understand the problems with it I feel it was Chloe Zhao having trouble directing a bug budget block buster during covid restrictions. In the amazon scene shots feel kinda flat. I think the shots they probably had before covid feel the most dynamic and shits during covid being filmed feel smaller and awkward
@@AnuarAzar Maybe but it has massive Neil geiman and Kirby influences but almost no one knows the source material. Its very very niche basically being Kirby's passion project for a while. I don't think holding people in a bad light for not reading the comics works with eternals. Its not like a spiderman or batman comics its eternals. I think even guardians was more well known than eternals even before both had films
Jack Kirby was also big at Marvel. He created, wrote, and penciled the first run of The Eternals in 1976 or so.
I love love love your videos 🥳
@33:10 that was the Ebony Blade that Sprite mentioned to Thena onboard the Domo. It allows its' wielder to become the Black Knight. Dane is willing to do whatever it takes to find Sersi and her friends.
The mysterious man is Eric Brooks better known as Blade. He's portrayed by Mahershala Ali, and he'll have his own film set to be a part of phase five.
I feel like people hate the whole world building type of movies so it made this movie get a lot of hate which it didn't deserve. I however think eternals should have been a series because some of the characters just looked plain and lacked relatability.
True, but I also recognize it's hard to get this type of a cast for an ongoing series
I disagree, I think they just failed to execute the world building aspect of the movie very well. They needed to spend more time with the world building to make us truly care about each character and understand their motivations and actions. When Druig finally broke, or Phastos finally broke, it was understandable, but we (the audience) didn't really feel it as much as we should have. It would have been a lot more impactful if they spent the time to tell those stories in a richer way.
It's not really world building, it's our history and world with a superhero spin, not much "building" go on with that, Shang Chi has world building, it's constantly explaining and exposition dumping and people loved it, Eternals problems stem from character development entirely, it gives us ideas and themes but doesn't explore them even slightly, like it would've been nice to see Druig's cope with not interfering over the centuries of war or how Phastos dealt with his creations being used for total genocide, none of that is expanded on and it skips right past all of that development so we're left with wooden characters and cliché final battle moments instead of actual interesting plot development.
@@dontreadmyprofilepicture8817 I still think they did some world building. Introducing a whole new specie of life in this universe and also introducing the celestials makes it world building. The problem is they didn't have enough time to expand that whole concept and of course that also affected character development. That's why I said a 9 episode series would have probably done it well. As you said druig and phastos have compelling stories which we didn't get to explore because of the time limit. I recently watched the cuts of the movie and it's such a shame most of it could not get to the big screens because they were so good and me connect with the characters more than some scenes in the movie did.
I read someone saying that maybe the movie will be better if all the flashbacks happen in the beginning and not during the movie, and sometimes I think that will make sense.
For example you have Druig saying Phastos gave up on humanity, next you see the Flashback to understand that, but literally the next thing you see is him with a family and Sersi saying didn't you give up on humanity? Or something like that.
It's like the movie itself downplayed the flashback from 5 sec before a bit.
Love your commentary. ❤
The mysterious voice in the second end credit scene is Mahersala Ali's version of the Character Blade. (Half vampire-half human vampire slayer.) Played in the 90s by Wesley snipes
i understand how other people didn't like it the way i did, but the hate it's getting is just... too much
I agree 👍
Like captain marvel imo. Both had worse movies that received much less hate
I do agree it was pretty slow in the beginning but not the worst i still have never watched a single thor movie except ragnarok
bruh this movie is like Justice league of MCU movies. It sucks
It's getting Hate?
Oh, right, Social Media is full of Asshats that demand you bow to their Opinions.
I'm high as heck and a can't take my eyes off your magnifcent eyebrows.
Remind me to look out for Natalie sitting in the audience in my movie theatre, and just go home if I see her. 🤣
I enjoyed this especially from a historical fiction standpoint
I personally feel this one would do better as a series first since they introduce too many characters at once for the audience to connect with.
They're not taking any chances after inhumans
Totally what I said when I saw it at the theater.
There could be many reasons why they didn't make a show out of these characters... i mean, im sure it would be SOOO different if it had turned out to be a show!
Probably no Chloe Zhao, the story would not be this big, the special effects wound't be that great. And they wound't present these characters and this big of a cosmic mythology in a TV show! It reaches more people in the cinemas.
I totally disagreed. I thought every character was very well developed’
I had so much fun watching this one. I can’t believe the hate it got, and I got genuinely invested in these characters.
ANGELINA JOLIE was awesome and I felt so much for her sort of “dementia” parallel story arc.
Thena's dementia like symptoms really felt like the root cause was severe PTSD from her memories of all the worlds that she had seen die before then.
In the last post credits scene, the mysterious voice saying “Are you sure about that, Mr. Whitman?”, according to IMDb, is Mahershala Ali as Blade the vampire hunter 🔥🔥
i binged a few episodes and forgot to sub L
- i finally subbed [ you have a really good channel ]
I think this is probably the most beautiful MCU film: e.g. the cinematography, locations, etc. MCU films are usually so unsaturated, lots of blue screen locations, but these locations were all real. SO many shots could be printed and framed and put on someone's wall.
Great worldbuilding and mythology, and very interesting moral dilemmas. I just wish they expanded them more. This screenplay could be easily adapted in a miniseries
For a super brief high level Marvel summary:
There are the great abstract concepts of the universe: Fate, Eternity, Death... etc. These are all actual characters to pop into Marvel storylines when they do a massive event
Then, one step down, there are the Celestials, like Arishem, who basically create and run the universe, judging which planets and societies are worthy to continue
There are the Elders of the Universe: Characters like The Collector on Knowhere, The Grandmaster from Thor Ragnarok, Ego the Living Planet from Guardians 2 (Ego may tell ppl he's a Celestial, but that's just his ego...), Odin, and others around this power scale.
Then there are multiple power scales below that which comprise most of the characters we see all the time in Marvel comics.... from cosmic level characters, like The Silver Surfer, down to regular heroes, like Daredevil.
There is one being in all of Marvel that transcends all of that... and it is my sheer hope that with the MCU delving into the Celestials storyline, that that heralds the arrival of one of the greatest villains in all of Marvel history. (crosses fingers)
at the bollywood set, it cracks me up when they look at everybody outside and there's just a mocap guy holding a prop deviant head
Yay! Been waiting on this one, I enjoyed Eternals, hoping you do too!
Watching reactions to this movie make me realize why so many critics disliked this movie. Some people are just incapable of thinking logically without emotion I guess. Your reactions to all of Druig's and Ikaris' actions confirm that for me.
Maybe other people just see the movie for what it is: poor...
Interesting note. In the comics Thena and Thanos are first Cousins. The mysterious Voice was a Vampire Hunter named Blade.
