- Prototype (stylized as [PROTOTYPE]) is a 2009 action-adventure open world video game developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Activision. The game was released in North America on June 9, 2009, and in southwestern parts of North America as well as Oceania on June 10, and was released in Europe on June 12. Versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were released on July 14, 2015 alongside the sequel as Prototype Biohazard Bundle. Separate versions of the games became available on August 12, 2015.
The game is set in New York City, where a virulent plague known as Blacklight is spreading through Manhattan. Those infected are mutated into hideous monsters of varying form, with an uncontrollable rage to kill all uninfected life-forms and a military black operations force called Blackwatch has been deployed to keep the infection from spreading. At the center of it is the protagonist, Alex Mercer, an incredibly powerful shapeshifter with no memory of his past. Parallel to the game's storyline is the ability to play the game as a sandbox-style video game giving the player freedom to roam Manhattan.
Many reviewers compared and contrasted it with Infamous, another action-adventure open world game released one month prior to Prototype, by Sucker Punch Productions which features a superpowered protagonist with developing powers in an urban world. However, the gameplay and animations of Prototype are very similar to The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, also by Radical Entertainment. - Hry

Alex looks innocent in this because we can still see his eyes. In the second game, his hood hides his upper face, giving an evil look
Yeah I remember that, his face are always all shadowy in the second game, only visible when the eyes start to glow

Only thing I disliked about prototype 2 is the main villian Is Alex , the people who played prototype 1 knows how is he and has a close connection with him but in 2 they literally made him evil
Started yesterday this masterpiece and finished it in one night.

Since Mercer's limbs were severed repeatedly in that shitty game, and this ending shows he can regenerate his entire person from a SINGLE strand of organism, despite his main body being consumed, Mercer can still be alive.
And we can all agree that the story of Prototype 2 was fucking stupid, it disregarded all of Mercer's development in the first game and kills him off. And some the company that made the games is defunct, I'm going to say that Prototype 2 is non canon, since it's so stupid.

What I basically did was hijack all available tanks and helis, they deal massive damage. But it took me like 20 minutes because I would either get blown off across the map by some hunters or got killed by the boss ultimate attack.

I wish I could have finished this game. But there was honestly some mechanics that were so FRUSTRATING. I couldn’t get past mission 29. It literally takes all the worst parts of the game and puts it in one place. I couldn’t stand it. Sometimes I’d even get strike teams called on me just getting to the mission zone. Absolutely infuriating. So I just settled on watching the ending instead 🙃
