To quote Model Railroad News magazine, “Well Charles Smiley has done it again …this is a very entertaining and informative video. You want stuff to model? It’s in here, though I can’t tell you what you’ll glom onto and turn into a feature on your layout. Maybe you’ll just watch this for an hour and 35 minutes instead of broadcast TV. What a thought!” - Auta a dopravní prostředky
My buddie worked for the S. P. & loved it. Got to ride on a local with him up to Goleta with him. What a rush. Miss the S.P. I like the explanations he gives in these videos of town names etc. Best train vids on u tube.
My father worked for Southern Pacific from 72 until retiring from UP in 2016. We lived on the Oregon coast .He started as a clerk doing teletype. I will never forget the smell of the coos bay depot. Some times he had to open 3 treaties on a 80 mile stretch of the Oregon coast .That gave me lots of opportunities to ride on engines and I even got to play cards on a caboose one time.
Trestles not treaties . I wish you could edit without deleting your post
Brings me joys
Excellent video--especially most of those Video8 recordings at the beginning!

Hello from Kansas 🇺🇲
Great video of this by the SP.
Have this exact dvd. I recommend for sure 😎
Superb presentation 👏🏿
👍
I always thought the change from Daylight red-orange and Black Widow motifs to blah dark gray made SP equipment very bland and certainly not 'colorful'.
shouldn't paint so fast,spsf
