- This is the Mooer Red Truck. It is a multi-effects pedal that includes boost, overdrive, distortion, a number of modulation effects, delay, and a tuner. Is this the best all-in-one effects pedal? Probably!

I love how everything lights up. Easy to see what’s on
i love how it looks like a toy fire truck, but is still a great, respectable product. the world needs more good guitar gear that looks fun, in my opinion.
I love that I can look at it and know exactly how it works . Great as always !
I don't watch many pedal reviews anymore, but I'm glad you made this one! Thanks, Shane!
Thanks for watching everyone. 20:54 is where I let you know what I think of the pedal too! Enjoy!
Hey man, what do you think of Keeley Tone Workstation? It's a similar take on analog multieffects
I haven't tried it mate sorry.
I'm impressed, finally we have a good multi-effect pedal that doesn't sound like a toy
I really like this multi effects pedal. Seems like it has most everything of what's on my pedal board and takes up less space!
There is no doubt about it: your demos / reviews are always the best and the most usefull & informative on CZcams land. I have seen so many half baked / quick and pretty dirty reviews of Mooer/Caline/Hotone which are being trashed in 2min just because they are not the big names (I mostly think about the A team...). To me, your demos always trully represent the product wherever it comes from. Thanks a LOT for that honesty and true dedication to what you are doing. I bought several pedals based on your reviews and cannot be more happy with what I got. We need more guys like you on CZcams.
Im buying this next, bought the black truck and was blown away... hope they make a yellow truck, a truck for acoustic
Wow that first guitar has some amazing tone!
Yes!
Great review, as always. A lot of multi-effects units that aren't Boss, Line 6, Headrush, Digitech, or any of the other industry giants tend to get a bad rap, many times due to their comparably diminutive price tags. The whole, "get what You pay for" scenario, if You will. This is a prime example of how Mooer & Nux are serious contenders, well worth deeper investigation. One could argue that through a Fender Blues Reissue, in a sound controlled room, in the hands of quite capable guitarist, anything could be made to sound good. Although this may be true, it still comes across as a great, little unit, with all the basics, plus a few little extras, & very user friendly, like having individual stop-boxes, great for a novice just building their rig, or a seasoned pro looking to have all their necessities in one, sleek, affordable package. Yeah, I'm probably getting one of these.
I'm pleasantly surprised by this pedal board. I'm a fan of simplicity for the most part, so this is right up my alley. Great video and playing Shane! I love twin humbucker guitar you're using. What is it?
Unlike the other reviews this one is done by a guy who can play some nice sounding demo songs. Best demo of this interesting little thingy I've seen.
Nice review! Looks like a fantastic multi-effects pedal! Really like the FX loop and the price sits just right.
Torn by this as if you look at digital multifx pedals it seems pricey in comparison, but also has some cool ideas in it. I suppose we will see more and more of this type of analogue multifx now though, so interesting to see Mooer leading the charge!
Great review Shane I have one of these and they are a beast for live playing . The Dist and OD really cut through in a live band setting. Just bring your volume pedal with you and you are in business ! A great tough little rig , easy to use , neat and tidy . I also add a Mooer micro preamp in the fx loop and turn it into a 2 channel rig , with this set up I have plugged direct into a PA with great results. They just came out with the Black Truck too , you should review that one too. I have both as their price does not wreck tbe grocery budget !! Great job again Shane!
Would you be willing to PM me about your set up for taking the red truck directly into a PA or mixing board? Sounds like you have already accomplished it successfully. Thx
theres a latency issue in shifting from clean to distortion, there's a few seconds latency...
It’s cute. Lol 😂!! Seriously it’s a cool all-in-one board that has great tones from each effect. I’m sure if you have it set up to taste, it would be an easy mobile board for gigs! Thanks for the full review!!!🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤘🏽🤘🏽🎸🎸🎸🎸
Awesome video. I have a million pedals that I don’t know how to use. You just made it easy.
yes!! finally get to hear some blues rock with the Red Truck!! Think i may have to buy it now.
What an awesome guitar in the intro
Thanks Shane for the comprehensive review 😊
This might be the competitor of NUX Cerberus
Most of the fantastic tone is due to your Fender Blues Junior. I play the Boss GT100 through a Marshall MGCFX30, and it is not that nice. However, the GT100 sounds fantastic via headphones. Please do a review of the Boss GT100.
Nagesh Cavatur +1
I only play with the GT100...it rocks!!!
Red truck vs. NUX Cerberus please!!!
raymond uncad definitely red truck would win ! 😊
@@ericcb2685 can it store preset parameters? I've tried the Cerberus... It can store 128 presets. 32 banks, 4 presets per bank... You could have 4 sounds in a song just by a single stomp and can access the other Banks easily. It's got wicked analog distortion. Analog drive and 20db boost. And did I mention that the distortion/drive can be routed in any order? So can the delay/reverb be routed... And all that parameters can be stored in a single preset you can access in a single press and the preset doesn't change even if the knobs where moved unless you go to edit mode...
But then again, all these things are subjective.. I like mooer's products, like the green mile, and free step... And if you prefer red truck over Cerberus, that's fine.. I guess we should just be thankful to have a lot of options now that's affordable and has quality with tons of features...
The Cerberus can also load IRs for cab sims too... I'd love to see a comparison vid.
I just heard Shane's review on the NUX unit. It's distortion sounded warmer and more organic to my ears. Although he's using the cheaper guitar here😂.
Please a red truck vs nux Cerberus
I'm late to the party but what do you think..
Mooer red truck or Nux cerberus?
Can you do a mooer red truck vs nux Cerberus plz kinda split between the two
Sourav Mohapatra better mooer red truck bro
Riiight?🤔
Really dig that Little Crow... Gnarly
I noticed one thing, you like “bright”.....nice demo
Shane how about a review of the Nux Cerebral and maybe compare it to The Red Truck?..
What I don't understand with this one or the Nux Cerberus is why they don't have a lock, hold or safe concert mode, disabling the programming function...
Great review..
Thanks!
I just got one of these as part of my rehearsal/backup/nanorig with my DV Mark Little GH250 and NeoCreamback-loaded 112 cab. I’m running it in 4CM and it’s really well made and sounds great. Blows away the Quattro I owned previously at a fraction of the price. Good demo too.
PS: make sure you have a Boss-style 9v power supply, as it doesn’t ship with one.
I was also looking at the Quattro, this better huh?🤔
@@taurushamilton2739 i had a Quattro. it's good, but i personally like this one better, and it's way less $. my main rig is a Kemper PowerRack, but i like the mini rig at times for straightforward tones.
Hey man! I watched your reviews about nux cerberu and this one and i have a question; witch one did u like more? I know they ate simmilat in a way but wich one has better reverb and efect? Im a synth guy not a guitar player im looking at used units and deciding between redtruck and cerberus. Cheerz!
Cerberus `
Great job as always Shane !! Sounds good too !! :)
Great review…I want one😎
the Nux board has less knobs but appear to off more variations...the reverb on this...what is i plate, room, hall. spring...only 1 type
and the routing on the nux is better plus has midi and more in/out points..and cheaper!
Awesome review mate. 👍✌️
Is there any way you could run the red and black in series? Think of all the fun you could have, all that and a tiny foot print.
Thanks for this!
This or Nux Cerberus?
nux does more, has routing and more in/out points plus midi and IR
This one has better tuner I guess but overall I like the Nux cerebus
It looks light, portable, good sounding and saves you from the hussle of cables between stompboxes for a simple setup.
Are the drive & dist effects analog ?
Angelo Giannatos yes
from 1 minute in when you switched to bridge, you where very vlose to the Santana sound, just a little more tweaking to perfect the Santanaa sound. AWESOME
Exactly what I was thinking.
Cheers!
Please check your tuning before you do a demo. Your guitars were out. Thanks for the demo.
Hello. I have a doubt and surely you can help me. I've never had this pedalboard in my hands, but I understand how presets are created. What is not clear to me is if each preset created is saved exactly as it was done, that is, are the parameters of each effect included in the preset (levels, tones, gains, etc.) saved? I'm asking you this because I read somewhere on the web that "preset mode only save the switch state, but parameters cannot be saved".
Great vid, mate!
If I didn't already have a bunch of pedals I would probably grab one of these. I think Mooer makes pretty decent stuff for the money. I think that quality per price wise, EHX stuff is the best compromise. And I think this thing looks more like a bus than a truck. Just saying.
The real thing will be when the Blue Truck comes alive
Hello can you please do a video on connecting a looper pedal and wah to the mooer red truck?
Nice guitar!
Good review, excellent
Dzień dobry który bardziej polecasz? Mooer Red truck czy nux Cerberus? Pozdrawiam
Chappers ALERT. Rob and Mat are going to be down under in mid Oct.
Loved the analog, the digital not so much.
It's "Earthed" earthed? aluminum?
I bought a 2nd hand one. I am a bit confused by the DELAY settings, how do I get a clean 'Slap Back' effect for playing RnR and Rockabilly?? I think 1/4??
Shane, your intro clip sounds different then most, style wise. Was wondering if that's a result of learning more with the aid of the fret zelot? Thx
The tone on this demo was markedly better than the tone on the Anderton’s review. That first guitar tone (distortion/delay/reverb) was very Santana-esque.
I know where there’s a used one. 🤫 🤐 😉 I’m getting it now. 🤙🏼
tank g or this red truck guys which one is better I'm in doubt??
Great demo but way too much treble, I’d like to hear it do a smoother hot distortion or od.
That was a cool video!
How would you compare this to the Caline C300? As you've also reviewed that one, so I'm interested from your point of view...
They are both really good. I think as an all in one this is one of the most versatile.
Nice playing!! 👏👏 how does it compare to tech 21 fly rig, kind of stuck between the two
Tech 21 makes awesome stuff, but I haven't done a straight-up comparison with them.
Hi, guitar players! Is this an analog multi-effects or digital multi-effects pedal. THANKS
What are your favorite settings for delay and reverb . Just starting out with both and would just like a ballpark setting for each, if you don’t care and get the chance.thanks
Does this unit have a chromatic tuner on it? Does it allow you to tune a string to any pitch or just standard tuning? I tune to E flat and use various other open tunings regularly.
Mooer red truck no power. Not working..please help.
How would you compare it to the Nux Cerberus?
Shane, what do you reckon when you compare it to their GE200? The GE200's got all the bells and whistles for only about $50 more.
From what i've seen the ge200 is better. Has that big screen too. Ola Englund has a review of it. Looks slick.
NO power supply? Really, weird
The pedal would be perfect if they had not forgotten to put an auxiliary input. In my opinion, this omission limited the use of this equipment.
Is there an amp and cab sim when using the output?
what's the guitar SX? sounds nice!
VTG series
I know Im late to this party, but does anyone know if you can control the boost with a foot switch?
Hi Shane, one question... when you save presets will they still be there the next time you use the Red Truck? Or, do you have to create and save presets every time you use it?
I have one now, so the answer to my own question is, yes, it saves your presets. (However, when you transport it to a live gig, check your time based effects settings to make sure the knobs did not get rotated accidentally and mess up the chorus and delay rates! Effects settings will always be where the knobs currently are.)
why is the boost a toggle switch and not a switch you can step on ????
I think it’s more for eq ing single cool guitars that are lower output if you are switching guitars during a gig since humbucker has guitars are typically more output
How do you disengage the tap tempo?
the nonise never went away with the humbuckers...
How does this compare with Mooer's GE200 and Black Truck? And for a player looking to upgrade from Mooer's beginner-level GE100, which is the all-in-one pedal to go for?
Amir Khalid GE200 is for someone who like modellers it's mostly digital
The red truck is analog and can be used for any genre like rock, blues
The black truck is actually for metal
Hope this helps you
Amir Khalid I would suggest you go for the ge200 if you're looking for all round performance ( it includes a volume/Wah/expression pedal)
The red truck would be for people who play live
Same for the black truck
Excellent review
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice demo, try it with less treble…..too bright sounding
Would a Noise gate work with this?
Would this work for a bass guitar??
This may make me sell my flyrig 5 by tech 21
Coach cleats I have this but don’t care for the distortion. The flu rig RK5 has way better distortion.
How to control master volume?
Can I put a buffer amp in front of it ?
ugh, i'm in a group that doesn't use 440HZ so the tuner is useless cause it don't adjust, other than that..
is it have cab sim?
It's a shame you can only use the BOOST layered onto the Distortion or Overdrive Channels.
It would make more sense to be able to switch it in & out over those channels to make the LEADS stand out! ...
Apart from that, it sounds pretty cool
What do others here think?
...Joe
Yep I agree. Having a boost on a button would make way more sense.
@@intheblues friend of mine added a button instead of the switch. He can still only use it for dist and drive, but now he can just activate it on stage while playing
Black truck please???
Been looking at this and The Nux Cerebral. The Red Trucks Drive and Distortion to me sound better over all than The Cerebral. The only thing that turns me off a bit about Red Truck is the Modulaion. I played it at GC on The Black Truck (Modulation same as Red Truck) and hearing it in You Tube- The Nux Cerebral sounds more pro. The Red T's Mod section just sounds kind of cheesy. It makes me want to Buy the Red Truck and just add my own Modulation pedal. Or Buy the Nux and add my own Overdrive. The Nux appears to have more options/features though incl more Reverbs more Chorus's to choose from. But just for a a quick dial in with The Red Truck- just using mostly everything except the Modulation section it sounds really good. I really like the time signatures of the delay dial switch. You can go from a quick Rock a Billy slap to a longer Van Halen or Santana type delay. Although the Nux seems to have that same funtion Im sure it can be dialed in.
Which do you prefer mooer red truck, or nux cerberus?
The Cerberus is a better all round pedal but this is very good. Not everyone loves the overdrive circuit on the Cerberus though which is where this one has the edge from memory.
Red rocket, red rocket, oh truck... bugger!
Why someone hasn't made a pedal called "The red rocket" is beyond me. Awesome suggestion
I think they have! Obviously South Park fans! SP loved some zoo references!
Yeah a SP fan. Gone off it a bit in the last few years though - getting a bit too political
Better than the lame duck era of the middle of the 1st decade!
Yeah, hard to believe they've been cranking them out for 20 years!
The rk5 is better quality. Smaller, almost same price and comes with a power supply. Of course some less features like Flanger tremolo, but tech 21 rk5 is a better product for the purposes it was made . Just my opinion.
RK5 lacks overdrive and delay. The OMG of RK5 is distortion. Also RK5 has onboard amp sim for plugging direct to PA system whereas red truck is solely effects for plugging onto an amp.
does it work with right handed guitars? thanks :(
Nope you're out of luck mate. hahaha
damn! i hope they release right handed version soon.
Shane was demo'ing the international version of the red truck - It drives on the wrong side of the road. Get the Australian version, it drives the other way.
Why are all you demo-ers so obsessed with distortion and overdrive? Some of us would like to know more about the clean sounds! And why no close-ups of the settings on the different fx. I bought one to use with a pedal steel and I'm no wiser on how to set it after watching this whole video!
I bought a guitar to punish my mom! lol (Pink Floyd)
Still line 6, pods have the powerful, comprehensive distortions.
Less delay…..way too much. Live, just a little echo with only 1 or 2 repeats is good, unless you’re doing comfortably numb
You do you.
For me, the most annoying and illogical part of multi-effects is the tap tempo button! A particularly pointless invention in the case of a rhythm box, which already has a two-digit number display. Give me the third stage of the indicator and the rotary knob - and I will be in seventh heaven!
I discovered this inconvenience 15 years ago on my Roland Microcube. It is much more convenient to feed a precise rhythm pattern to the Aux than to tap the conscience of the built-in drummer!🤔
