This was the only video that correctly demonstrated how to remove the fixture and change out the light bulb. Thank you for your help. 👍
Thanks for making this video, helping my wifes friend and I was getting so pissed...hitting the nuts to get the corner to release was great advice. Thx
thanks! I'll give it another try in the morning. The trick is the tapping! This girl appreciates you.
I could not have completed this task without your tip of keeping the nut on the end and smackingit!! Thank you sir!!
Dude the tip to hammer on the bolt is genius. Popped right out for me. I've changed bulbs a few times on my 2017 and dealt with struggles. This worked perfectly. Thanks a million.
Okay
Wow, you made this look so easy. And it was! Even this 64 yr old Grandma did it. Thank you! 😊 You are a great teacher! 👍
THANK YOU for the tip on tapping the screw!! My roommate and I were having the hardest time trying to get the light fixture out until we saw your video
Very helpful trick, watched this after a mechanic couldn't get it off and told me to take it to the dealer. Took a few rounds of hammering but was so satisfying when it popped off. Thank you!
Thanks for that tip! I was struggling so much getting mine out. It did start to strip the end of the bolt but I may have screwed the nut off too much. But now I have a working break light. I appreciate you
Woo diy Videos like this saves us from mechanics trying to rip us off 😓 thanks for the vid 😌
2:45 great bro. Mines was hard to take out. This method is awesome
Just bought an alantra with a blown left blinker bulb, you were a GREAT HELP. Thank you for a good video.
Sooooo glad I looked at this before trying to change my husband's brake light. You explain everything very well!
You were trying to change the brake light?? Not him?
Great video. Our brake light went out and before I attempted changing it I found this video. Very glad I did. 5 stars!
Well done. Thanks. Tapping the bulb assembly out from inside the trunk is much easier than trying to pry it out from the outside.
Thank you so much for the video. It same me time, headaches and money by avoiding a visit to dealer to replace a light bulb. God bless you.
Thank youuu😊 How did you know we needed this video? We were STRUGGLING to get that light off to change the brake light bulb. We tried the screwdriver🪛 to pry it open too😆 When we hit it with a hammer....GENIUS!!!! Keep the videos coming. We appreciate YOU!
It was 3:33 on his watch that’s how I know this was the right video
That tip to get the tail light out worked like a charm! Thank you for that.
You're a charm
I'm sooooo glad I watched this before replacing my tail light. Thank you so much.
I'm pretty upset that I didn't think of this. Brilliant. You are much appreciated.
Wow. This is so clear and concise. Love the trick. I’m gonna try today but thank you so much.
This video is great, I can't say the same for the layout of the car. The most complicated light bulb compartment by far and this is my 3rd car.
Wow I tried to take off the white pins whereas they aren’t supposed to be out 😁 thanks for the video 🙌🏽
Mines was super hard so I stopped to avoid breaking it,, ima going to try your method 👍🏽
Thx so much for the tip on how to remove the lens. Genius! It worked for me. Without the tip, I would’ve been there for days and probably would’ve given up. A tip for other users: Use a hammer if the socket head doesn’t work, and tap hard. It really does require hard taps, but eventually it will let loose. Thanks again my friend!!
You're a genius
Great vid my guy! Best instruction so far will be doing this way after work
Thanks! Great video start to finish! Was smashing the shit out of the bolts with a hammer didn't work. Ended up yanking it off with a zap strap. Took quite a bit of force.
ARRGGGG! I wish I saw this 2 lamp assemblies ago. Simple and easy. Your a genius.
No kidding. Thank you!!!
@@TheDr1066 Absolutely genius! thanks man. wish I saw this before my two difficult replacements. haha
Thank you... So easy I'll do it myself. And never pay for another light bulb install.
Thank you much, I thought I had to remove part of the trunk liner. Ufff you made it super easy. Thank you again bro
This is a great and detailed video on How to get that tail lamp off, yes it’s extremely hard to get off, I took mine to my gas station and took 2 guys to get it off, I wish I discovered your hammer trick earlier. Subbed to your channel:)
Glad I watched this prior to doing it myself. Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!! Appreciate it!! I did it all by myself
Excellent. All I needed to know about this process is in this video,
Great job. Comprehensive yet concise instructions. Thank you.
excellent! thanks, clear, concise, nice trick too!
Thank you SO much. I changed by brake light bulb all by myself!! Great video😊😊
This is exactly what I needed, thanks for breaking it down and showing how to do it all so simply!
Its not that easy. Several people did exactly what he did and the light would not come out. I have seen dealer mechanics try it and needed additional help from other mechanics to get it off. Its not as easy as you think. The steps are easy but not actually doing it.
This video just cut so much struggle time out for me. That hammer tip blew my mind. THANK YOU
Thank you so much for the break down. A huge help. Cheers my friend.
Thanks for doing this.....BIG help and sped up my repair!
Tapping the fixture out didn't work exactly for me but I did find another trick on the internet that helped. Get three 24 inch long strips of duct tape and stick half of the length to the outer tail light. You should end up covering a good portion of the surface of the light and have the three "tails" of duct hanging out. Once you've loosened the 10mm nuts and unplugged the electrical, pull and tug the duct tape backwards and the fixture will just pop out.
I couldn't get the damn thing out, even with a hammer-- but the duct tape worked like a charm! THANK YOU.
Bro thanks for the tip… will the duct tape leave glue residue on the light?
👍
@@Pedronqr I was gonna ask the same thing!!
Bless your soul this helped me out so much
This video saved my patience lol!!! Thank you so much!!! Awesome tip:)
Thanks, I'm doing 2018 brake lamp today👊🏾

Cuz of u
My hero for the day
This is exactly what I needed to see thank you
Great vid buddy! Descriptive and to the point!
Good trick. I saw one video that said you have take bumper off. I like your way better. Mine just went out. Thanks
Taking a bumper off for changing a light bulb. My goodness. I personally think Hyundai messed a big time designing this housing. I understand safety is required and you want to make sure the housing stay intact in its place. But this is far too stupid why not just install two more bolts making sure that stays together than this plastic crap.
Great video, clearest instructions I've found
2:55 50 Cent! Giving some great tips. Thanks!
Excellent video. about to try it out.
It's worked! Thank you.
Excellent instructions. Thank you so much!
Amigo...your a genius....yesterday I came back home ...neither my daughter or wife told me about the light on the dash...until I drove the car.
I have a slight idea how to do it .
But I think I will struggle a lot if I don't see your video first....muchas gracias
Thank you for this great tutorial video!!
Thank you!
Mine were very stubborn.
Bruh the smashing the nut was a great idea but it ended up stripping the nut stuck onto the bolt and however the bolt is held into the housing must have broke because now the entire nut and bolt is spinning. Gonna try a zip tie to take it off like someone else in the comments later.
This video made it so easy for me. Thank you
This video is the best, thank you!
AAHHH this saved my career 🤣
Very easy to follow! Thank you!!! 😊
Thank you man, didn't know it was that easy. Appreciate it 🙏🏽

@@starttofinishpodcasting3721 I have a hyundai elentra 2017, the mechanic I went to didn't know how to pop the taillights out. I watched this video, I used a hammer to hit the screw only once, and then the taillight popped out, it wasn't hard it only took me about about 2 minutes to replace the burnt bulb. I think your point is for some cars it's easy but for others they have different methods
Thank uuuuuu!!! Just got it done!!!!
Thank you for this friend !
Great video thanks a lot!!!! Really helpful
Thanks a lot , this tip helps me today .
Worked for me. Thanks!
Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you! This was easy to follow and worked perfectly on my 2017 Elantra.

Great video thanks for sharing
Useful information thank you
Very helpful. Thanks
good tip, thanks bro
Thank you so much +1 sub😊
Helpful thanks 🙏
Thanks very good video.. I did already 🙏
Thank you so much..I had to use a hammer to back out the studs. Also my 10 mm nuts were hand tight and easy to remove. My car is a 2018.
hey guys, what kind of bubs do I have to buy for the tail light.
What if the reverse light works but the brake light doesn’t? I changed the bulb but the light still doesn’t work. Do I need to replace the entire tail light?
Great tip best video
I was hammering so hard I broke my socket wrench lol guess I'll have to go to the mechanic after all
Hey where can I buy those little white clips
Simple the best 👍👍👍😊👍
Best way to get this light assembly off without damaging anything is to remove the bolts and the rubber plug then take a long socket extension and place it in the hole against a flat spot make sure it's not against the light caps or anything you will damage. The hard clip holding it is under the narrow piece of the light if you wiggle the light lose and squirt a bunch of lubricant behind where the clip is it should release easier from the clip. Then cover the light in duct tape leaving some hanging at the back to grab and pull it backwards. When all this is done get 2 people one to hammer the extension from behind and the other to tug on the duct tape. It will take some force but it will pop out. I struggled with this thing for months until this worked for me. Good luck it's a huge pain really poor design.
Wow easy after watching
Another dead end for me.
Even though both my brake lights have already been replaced, The housing is difficult to remove even using the trick in this video. Before I didn’t know that there’s actually a different kind of a clip that holds together the side housing. Despite trying everything I have another failure.
I went to the mechanic who I have been to for same issue before even he doesn’t want to get his energy wasted trying to prop open this garbage.
Next time which ever mechanic opens this housing for me, The first thing I’m going to do is break that side housing clip so I don’t need to go through this much of torture just to replace a bulb.
Everything went well up to 2:50 getting the assembly loose enough to take off. An hour later, I give up.
I have a 2018 Hyundai Accent and the dealership wanted to charge me $75 just to change the bulb in the centre brake light today. I haggled a little and he brought the price down a bit. He told me there’s some sort of panel so it isn’t an easy job. I’m not sure I’d have the patience to change the other brake bulbs, but at the same time I don’t want to be paying out all that money. I need to buy myself some tools for my car. It’s unbelievable what manufacturers will do to make sure you feel the need to have a professional do the job instead of being able to do it yourself.
