  • We can't deny that we've always liked the City. Since 2014, we've found it to be a stellar example of what a car in the subcompact, B-segment category should be like: sharp looks, a spacious cabin, a good engine, great features, and overall great value.
Times have changed since the City came out though. There are new players and updated ones. Even the crossovers are getting in on the action, as carmakers are offering smaller, more affordable utes to challenge the position of the established subcompacts, much in the same way that compact crossovers almost took over the industry.
Now we've got a new version, and it's got some good upgrades to help re-affirm the City's leadership in the class.
For starters, they definitely got the styling right. The Honda City really didn't need a redesign given that it still looks every bit as sharp now as it did three years ago, but the subtle updates are definitely much appreciated.

I can really vouch for the Honda City 2018, i'm from Bacolod, for an October vacation, me and my gf rented a 1.5 E for 2 weeks last year and drove from Q.C. up to Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte and up Baguio on the way back NLEX was literally a breeze, though I was a bit nervous going up Baguio because it was my first time driving there, but the Honda City really made those uphills and downhills feel like a flat road, and it was also my first time driving in Metro Manila but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, driving in Cebu is far worst with a lot of motorcycles zooming past and cutting your path.
My sister has a Honda BR-V, and with Hondas, they just feel very ergonomic, even if it's your very first time to drive one, it feels like you've been driving one for years and you can "feel" the corners, the sides, and where the tires are; in comparison, I rented a Toyota Vios a month later and drove it to Bulacan, the driving feel isn't just as ergonomic, I couldn't feel the sides, the corners or where the tires were actually treading on, I think if I'm able to drive a Vios for more than a week, I could get accustomed to the "feeling".
