- In this video, I give you a few pointers of things to watch out for so you don't get scammed on Amazon. It seems like almost everyone shops from Amazon these days, which is why it is surprising to me a lot of people don't realize that they may not even be buying from Amazon when making a purchase on the website. So that is why I'm making this video for you. To educate anyone who shops on Amazon and be as savy of a shopper as possible.

Basically, anyone can create an Amazon seller account, similarly to eBay and place items for sale on Amazon. So it's really important to verify who are actually making the purchase from before buying.
By not doing this basic due diligence, you can end up in a situation where you bought something fake, an item the seller doesn't even have or worse. Then going through the returns / dispute process is really a hassle in order to make the situation right. Best thing to do in my opinion, is just check a few things first, and THEN make the purchase.

If it is shipped by amazon but sold by a mostly positive rating third-party company is that ok?
Very good video on third party sellers! One thing I have also found too is make sure to check the seller's rating....if it's under 80%, don't buy! You're likely going to have a hassle dealing with them.

This is difficult to follow because, 3rd party sellers sometimes offer a lower price. Sometimes you don't want to pay full price for the same item. I have purchased books by a 3rd party seller. It's easy to get scam then, and your message just tells me to order only from Amazon to avoid getting scammed.
Thatâs the risk you take. If you want a better deal you take the risk of getting scammed itâs pretty much that simple. Of course you can probably get a refund but then you need to deal with Customer Service and that whole hassle

Even products shipped and sold by Amazon are not immune to bad apples working in the warehouse. I've had several negative ordering experiences in the last few years, and almost without fail, the burden of proof is laid on the customer. Also, since the Covid-19 pandemic, ordering anything from a 3rd party seller is Russian Roulette.
Agreed, I think the company is setting themselves up for failure with their recent terrible service, slow shipping etc. Hopefully people will wake up and see there are plenty of great stores left out there besides Amazon, but there wont' be if no one wakes up!
but at least you can get your money back when you return the item that was shipped by amazon.

It depends, most of them are probably legitimate, but there are some who are not. Thats when it really depends on what you are buying. If it were me, I would not buy any high ticket item from a 3rd party seller, unless you know the company / brand who is selling on amazon.

It could be. Although if itâs not being sold directly through Amazon youâre still dealing with a third-party but if they have a good reputation then maybe you can chance it
I found some pokemon cards on amazon that i want (their not in my country) and they cost like 8$ and theres some rare ones that are worth more than that i cannot tell if im gonna get scammed

Hello, I ordered something on Amazon about a digital item. Roblox. I ordered like 2 of them and they did not send the code or nothing. I checked in digital software where you get the code and it is not there. It has been over 3 days and I still did not get my code. What do I do?
First try to reach the seller, if they don't get back to you, you'll have to file a complaint with Amazon customer service and hopefully get a refund

Yes, Amazon does not screen fraudulent products or unscrupulous vendor. They drag resolutions out to an absurd degree in the hope that you will simply give up. I have been boycotting them since the summer of 2023.
I can't tell if I got scammed or notttt, my mother bought me a dress off of Amazon and it arrived today. The fabric doesn't really look like it did on the picture, the fabric seems more costume-y, but other than that it seems fine.
Its hard to know if you got scammed unless you know the original manufacturer of what you're buying and then determine if its fake. But if you don't like it, I would still return itđ

After my order got shipped which is what they say but thereâs literally no details of where they dropped it, the time, nothing. I payed $52 and itâll take a month but after the order thats when i realized i got scammed from âsellerâ who just launched but their prizes were like the original prizes so i dont know and of course it had to be shipped from a terrible companyâŠ

This 3rd party seller sent my order to another state through Fedex, different from my shipping address! Was it a scam?
Sounds more like it could just have been a mistake. But its always possibly a scam when it comes to 3rd party

Does it matter if the seller is or isn't Amazon? The specific product I'm looking at is shipped from Amazon, so will it be safe??
Almost all of them are "fulfilled" by amazon, but you want it to be sold by amazon and if it isnt, at least a legitimate company you have heard of as a lot of legitimate companies do sell on amazon.
I bought 2 cell phones from Amazon and they only gave me a 30 day warranty lol the phone ended up being completely defective, both of them. They gave my bf a new phone because it has problems the first month. However I didn't have problems until 3 months in. The seller won't respond to me and Samsung doesn't know what to do lmao. Spent almost 1k on the phones.

I have found an item sold by 3rd party seller but is ship by amazon. I'm not sure if this is legit, because their rating is very positive but only 3 people have bought from them.
Technically anyone can do that, so you have to be careful. Because if you have an issue with the item, thats when you could be dealing with a headache.

I got scammed like this, on the day my package was supposed to be delivered someone from Pennsylvania started sending money into a account in Washington from my bank account through the app remitly taking out like 3,000 without getting notified or any email from my bank and when i placed my order I specifically checked who it was shipped and sold by to make sure it said amazon, after my package was delivered i seen the box wasnât from amazon when i checked again to make sure it said it was shipped and sold by amazon it had changed and said shipped by amazon and sold by some bs scammer called KUMU this guy had got my card info and tried wiping out my card
And the package had came from Washington supposedly but this supposed companyâs address wich was under their sellers info was from Pennsylvania wich turned out to be a ups store
Wow that is crazy. Sorry you got scammed like that. I think your case is an extreme example of what can happen when buying from the wrong seller.
Comment......One other suggestion is to at least make sure the item is being shipped by amazon that way you have some recourse to getting your money back if it is being sold by someone other than Amazon..

That doesn't mean amazon makes it, just means its their preferred vendor for that item. Probably not a scam in that instance

Itâs not about the reviews itâs about whether or not the seller is legitimate and if itâs sold and shipped by Amazon or someone else

I receive a just shipped email...i forgot to check the seller reviews which are BAD and am being scammed as i speak. I checked the sellers name and address and its a condo in canada that is for sale. skiping town? then amazon tells you to contact seller first before cancel/refund... so i contact seller and tell him to cancel my order and give me a refund or I will report him. He politely says dear blah blah sorry for the inconvenience ...will refund you within 2-5 business days. well amazon usually will protect me just knowing his reviews were psycho bad and I have proof of contacting this nut job.
Yes you have to be careful! Always check the seller ahead of time from now on amazon. Cant be trusted like before

i made my first purchase which is supposed to be delivered in 2 days. The only thing that concerned me and the reason i searched for this video is the fact that the item itself had no reviews. But the company did seem to have reviews on different items. its also shipped by amazon and there doesnt seem to be anything suspicious aside from the fact that the description was written in german which made me confused. Yep everything went fine. one of my orders was delayed just one day thats all. so they were supposed to come one on tuesday and one on wednesday so the one that was meant to come on tuesday came on wednesday and the one on wednesday came on thursday@@LykeArgy
