❤❤❤ thank you🎉 greetings & kind regards from the Netherlands ❤
I made the cuff tighter by switching to a 7mm hook just for working the cuff.
Thank you for the video! For us newbies it may be helpful to give a run down of the piece before starting. This helps to visualize the construction. Love all your work! ❤❤
Not just newbies..
I found this video was not clear pertaining to sections beginning done. A summary in beginning would have been helpful outlining visually the steps.. and more larger views during the process..
Not an excellent tutorial that is usually done by this designer..
I agree. I had a hard time visualizing what was being done
@truth4ugrace166
Having a diagram of the pieces would be nice. As in sewing patterns.
According to her blog
"The crochet cardigan is worked from the side across in simple half-double crochet stitches in the front loops only, making it a great beginner sweater pattern. The front and back are worked as one piece, and the sleeves are worked separately and seamed to the cardigan. You can easily modify the length by adjusting the starting chain."
Then under Construction "The Cardigan is worked from the side across. Front and Back panels are worked as one piece. The sleeves and pockets are worked from the side across separately and then seamed to the garment."
Beautiful cardigan..lovely pattern and tutorial.
love love this! all your designs are just exquisite
Love this pattern, looks so cosy. It's a must x
Thank you. Your are an amazing designer and teacher ❤️
Good luck!
I taught myself to crochet (from books: this was pre-video, pre-dvd, pre-Internet) when I was around 14, then did the same for knitting several years later. I still prefer crochet, but it’s nice to have both skills (especially when you come across yarns that are difficult to crochet with-like superfuzzy ones-that can be used to knit. I made an afghan last year and had to switch it from crochet to knitting once I hit a section of yarn that was impossible to see!)
Omg I love love it!!! ❤❤❤ I can see myself making one in every color

Beautiful ❤
Magnifique laine et joli gilet😍
I started your color block raglan long cardigan last week it's such a beautiful pattern and I'm using the same yarn it is so soft. This one is absolutely gorgeous to it's on my to do list. You have the most stylish patterns I don't think you have created any that I don't love. Thank you Mj
Wonderful! Thank you!
It is coming out beautiful. I have a question Mj I'm making this for myself in an x-lg I'm short 5'2" so I thought I should shorten the rows you said in instructions if you do that to cut down in multiples of 2 so at row 3 instead of 23 rows I stopped at 19. Now I'm working on row 13 the body so should I do that for every section so for row 13 instead of 24 rows do I need to stop at 20? Or should each section be 19? I'm confused. Thank you Candace
I see what your saying. At minute 5:35 she shows it in detail. It’s fast so you may have missed it. I haven’t watched the whole vid yet. Hope that helps. Don’t give up.
Süper, harika.sizi seviyorum
Bonsoir magnifique
I love the look of chunky cardigans, but the price of the yarn always puts me off! You always have to buy so many balls because you don't get much yardage on them.
Agreed
I just use two strands of a worsted yarn. The outcome is more cost effective, but still chunky 😊
@@sarahstevens-belk9937great suggestion
Mj i really adore your pattern
😅 But i also love the hook your using. Could you please tell where i can get them.
Bulky yarn is too expensive, so I used 2 strands of red heart super saver. I got the gauge right with the L, 8mm hook. I surprised myself😂 I’ve always had to go down a hook size.😊
Love how this is working up. Thank you for all your time you dedicate. One question I have is if starting this cardigan with the foundation stitches, when the pattern calls for the chains do you do a foundation stitch or the normal chain? Thank you.
You can do either.
Beautiful cardigan. I also love your wooden crochet holder. May I ask where you purchased the holder?
Could you please send another link to blocking starter kit. The one given doesn’t seem to work. Thank you so much!
You do beautiful croche I making this one but I don’t understand how many balls of yarn 😊 thanks
XS (S, M, L, XL, 2/3X, 4X, 5X)
9 (10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19) So, for example for size large you will need 13 balls of yarn.
Got to the part where you add the collar. Mine is too short . How do I add length to the cardigan or do I need to start over.
Your work is amazing! You taught you to crochet?🧶🧶🧶 Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
👏👏👏👏
❤❤❤❤❤😊
Beautiful ❤️,How many balls of yarn did you make this sweater from?
Could I do the sleeves like you did the collar and join as I go?
Yes, the ribbing would just be going a different way.
I love the sweater so far. I’m co fused by the attach as you go collar. I don’t see how those 26 stitches will go all the way around. Please help.. ?
The 26 stitches is the width of the collar not rows.
I just started the sleeves, on the pattern it says to turn and then on the next row ch 1. on the video you say ch 1 and then turn. On the body I was turning first and then ch 1 as the pattern states. Which should I be doing? does one way make a better edge? This sweater is turning out GORGEOUS!!!
It doesn't make a difference.
I have extra yarn (wool ease #6) I would like to use. Would I need to make adjustments besides the length?
I do not suggest using that yarn for this pattern it would be way too thick.
@@mjsoffthehook ... Thank you.
Hi MJ…. Quick ? Is it possible to use a worsted weight 4 for this project? I’d love to start but had a car load of 4 no 5.
So do you make 4 separate panels to make the two sleeves or are the sleeves sewn together shut??
Each sleeve is made in one piece, so you would make two sleeve panels.😊
Güzel olmuş, bir hırkayı kaç günde örüyorsunuz merak ettim (How many days do you knit a cardigan?)
I crochet every evening. It will take me about a week or 2 to crochet a cardigan. I have many projects that I work on at a time.
How many stitches and how many lines should be taken to make 5XL size. If you want to make cardigan in the same way.
Follow the written pattern with the video it will give you all the stitch counts you should have. You can either view the pattern for free on the blog if you subscribe or purchase the pdf pattern links in description.
Hi I have tried to download the pattern from your blog. but it is not showing up. Is it still available? thank you.
Yes it is still available. You cannot download it though, it is for viewing on the blog onlywww.mjsoffthehookdesigns.com/cuddly-as-a-cloud-crochet-cardigan/
Hi ! I need help with the yarn please, Im not able to get bulky yarn, the kind you used ... all bluky yarns are blanket yarns ... and worsted are all medium worsted.. so what can I use ? Thanks ! 🤗
Have you checked out my list of suggested substitutes on the blog? www.mjsoffthehookdesigns.com/cuddly-as-a-cloud-crochet-cardigan/ you can always also put the yarn required into yarnsub.com and see if there are yarns you are familiar with off of their list of substitutes.
@@mjsoffthehook oh ! Thank You so much! 🤗
Toplam kaç gr ip gidiyor acaba 😊
I’m a little confused by the collar. How many rows for collar?
Bonjour bravo très jolie vous avez pris combien de chaînes s'il vous plaît c'est en englais
How many yarns in this cardigan ?and how meter in the yarn?
For the medium size I used 11 balls at 136 yards/ ball
I wish the directions on the collar were a bit more clear! The right side of mine is making an L shape somehow and idk how to fix it 😢
What color is the yarn you’re using?
Seraphim
😍😍😍🙋♀️❤🇩🇿👍
🎆🎊👍🇦🇺👏❤💙💛💚🧡💜🎊🎆
I'm confused about crochet hook sizing. You say an 8mm hook but that hook you're using doesn't look like a UK 8mm hook. It seems smaller.
This is an 8mm crochet hook. It could also be considered a US L-11.
I’ve watch the video at least 10 times and still can’t figure out the. Stitch. I get the first row but in the second row you said to insert the hook in the very front loop, I see after a while that you go beck to the back loop that forms the V. I give up. 👋🏼
It does look like she is going in the back loop. She does explain that it may look like that due to seeing the 3rd loop. When she tilts the row forward you can see all loops. A better camera angle could have made this easier to understand.
Do a swatch for the half double crochet to get a better understanding, of.working in the front loop.
@@gailgodfrey768 thanks for the advice. My yarn is waiting for a while. I must tackle this project. Thanks again 👋🏼
It does look like that because the top of the stitch is tilted away from us and the hdc has a horizontal bar that can look like the front loop. It might help to think of inserting the hook between the horizontal bar of the hdc and the loop above it. The result is a horizontal ridge on the side facing us that is created by the hdc horizontal bars, and a similar but thinner horizontal ridge on the backside that is made from the un worked back loop. Hth
The look of this screams comfy to me! Has anyone made this by doubling worsted weight yarn (4) instead of bulky 5? Eager to make now but have no bulky 😢
If I were you I would just try it. If bulky is a #5 then it should work.
In the UK we don't call it bulky, it's called chunky and then super chunky is the next size up. I get confused with the different terms sometimes! 😁
Hi there…. Did you try with the worsted 4? I have soooo much of it that I’d like to use up.
@@olgalang6341 I haven't tried it but you could do a Swatch and see if it matches up.😊
Can you please put the measurements in inches or centimetres etc.. as of the movements of the stitches will be hard to understand
How do you divide the front and back, would be nice if you could identify the measurements instead of just the stitches
