Hey Joanna, glad you're liking the content! I'd start with asking your manufacturer what product certificates they have on the products (best to ask multiple factories so you know what is the standard), then I'd also ask if they have in-house testing, depending on the product it may be important that they also do internal testing before production. I'd also verify this information with a 3rd party like Intertek or SGS and ask them what are the legal and industry standards for your particular product you want to import (this will be free information as those 3rd parties also do the testing so they are just quoting you to do the test but at the same time you are finding out what tests are legally required and which ones are just suggestions). Hope that helps 🙏 PS I'm from Edinburgh :)

I have a question and it’s just about every time I try to buy an E bike the bomber style Enduro it shows up as say 1400 then I ask him for how much would be to Canada like for one of these bikes in total and they say well we could do it for 850 then when they write it up it’s 3000 and something are they showing the delivery fee on the bikes not the cost I don’t understand

I would like to ask you if theres any way you can do in the future a video about inspection quality control checklist ? and how to make sure that you create a checklist in a way to get an aqurate evaluation from the inspection ? A good guide are the negative rewievs that help with this process but what if you don't have any reviews and you still wanna make sure that the product is a good quality to avoid pain in the future ?

kian , about scam number 6, does not trade assurance prevents a buyer to get scammed , by holding the money from the seller. I mean, if this is possible, that would defeat the whole purpose of a safe payment mecanism.

• When you say having the contact information of the boss... Do you mean the business owner, the founder, the immediate manager of the sales agent, else?
• Also, since many years I most often only have contact with a single person over a supplier... How to report to an important person over at the supplier company, whenever needed? [And when I do, it often leads to nothing! Not even a reply!]
It is surprising that numerous suppliers have no idea if their agents are competent or not, since no one follows them, etc!..
• And, how to talk (or write) to engineers directly? Usually the sales agent does not have the required engineering skills!..

I think it's safest to just do the payment through alibaba trade assurance so it's protected, if you use cash app or zelle you have no protection. Just select the trade assurance box and it will show all those suppliers who accept payment through Alibaba 🙏

I would always do the first payment on alibaba to make sure everything goes smooth and your goods were fine, once the order was received with no issues you can move to offsite payments for next one, but for the first one it's important to have trade assurance and that payment protection. If doing offsite payment make sure you get a pre-shipment inspection done, I can recommend you a good one by email if you like, if you need it drop me an email to k@sourcingwithkian.com

but what do if suppliers are not inclined to supply through Trade Assurance. The sellers have been given the right to reject the proposal of Trade Assurance given by Alibaba. This is a loop hole in the system
