  • @ultimatedisneycruiselinefa5112

The part where Tylor scared Ben was really heartbreaking, not only cause it was a flashback to Sully scaring Boo, but because Tylor had a panic attack too. I can tell by reality distortion in his eyes and shortness of breath. First it was Chase in the Paw Patrol movie, then Puss in The Last Wish, then Hunter in the Owl House, Floor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Moon Girl, and now THIS. Man, anxiety attacks are just going around movies and shows these days. Anyways…that moment stung me. He sure learnt about what Sully meant by changing from scaring to laughter. It was even more shocking Randall came back too. If we get a third season, PLEASE let Boo come back!

Personally, It was Tylor's friendship with Ben that got me. I mean of course they now through into kids rooms to make them laugh, but I wasn't expecting an actual friendship to be involved. Especially in the last two episodes cause Tylor being forced to scare him was gut wrenching, especially with Ben sobbing "I thought we were friends". It only made me glad they made up in the end and actually played with him and even hugged him for all of montropolis to see. This I want to see more of in season 3, cause that whole scene is hard evidence that kids arent toxic.

Season 2 is the true genuine sequel to Monsters Inc that people wanted since it takes place after the epilogue of the first movie. I love the ins and outs of the energy industry of how the companies worked, like seeing Monsters Inc’s laugh floor and Fear CO’s scare floor. I honestly thought season 2 would involve the college more as they build up on laugh power, but the story is a nice change that improves on the lore overall. And all the little Easter eggs that connect to the movies also helped build up potential plot ideas for season 3. Like Rosie who was one of the sorority goth girls that worked at Monsters Inc, became a jokester, but somehow left to work at FearCo as a scarer and is now fired from that too (that was a crazy offscreen character arc). The relationship with humans is also a crazy thing to notice as now the kids know about the monsters and is willing to laugh for them, which leads me to hope for more with them a bit, like maybe a return of Boo but with more lines since at this point in time of the story, it’s been 9 months, so she probably has a better grasp of speaking.
I also see some potential story arcs that could happen in season 3, such as Duncan and Declan being potential twin brothers; Fritz and Joy maybe building something of a relationship.
Also what was your favorite Easter egg? Mine in season 2 was the stoop sale where it was revealed that Mike and Sully’s frat brothers Terri and Terry are famous scarers. I also like how Carla is the major vet of the show, was seen in university working at monsters Inc and was able to change her career seamlessly to a jokester. Now she got a scare card and a jokester card

Roger was the best character in the show. It is really hard to add a new character to an iconic group without it feeling too crowded or unnecessary, but from the moment Roger first appeared, he immediately fit into the M.I.F.T. team! He was hilarious, passionate about Monsters Inc. (despite his father's history there), and in the final battle against Randal, it really felt like he wasn't even a new character, but a character we have known for a long time. I like how it was Tylor and Val who convinced everyone Laugh Power is the way to go. Mike and Sulley do their best, but they have to sell it as a business first because they are tied to it as such, not to mention they are practically veterans who are trying to convince the masses their method is better than their reliable method.
Tylor and Val, two young monsters, one of which is a prime scarer, showing exactly why it's a good idea with a live demonstration showed everyone why it works and why it's morally better. They showed Ben having fun, no different from a regular monster child, and tugging everyone's heartstrings at the sight of it. They managed to convince the majority of people that laugh power is viable and more powerful. I doubt it will convince everyone to stop scream power, it's too embedded in their society.

I enjoyed this season a ton, and I agree with pretty much everything you stated, great video ^^
Only nitpick I have personally is...I feel like Johnny Worthington's villain-reveal was semi-forced. Don't get me wrong, there were just enough antagonistic vibes from him throughout the season, but with the way they built him up as this charismatic community hero, family man- err, monster, and supportive figure towards for Tylor, it kinda made the reveal and his actions in the finale feel a bit 180 degrees. 🤨

    @Koopalingfan Před 27 dny +2

That was so good and I do agree. Season 2 was definitely a very good sequel to Monsters Inc and every Saturday I was looking forward to the next episode next Saturday. The plot twists of Roger being Henry J Waternoose’s son, Randall being behind everything and working with Johnny Worthington, and Chet Alexander secretly working against Johnny are well written twists. Randall being at large definitely does hint the possibility of a third season or a third movie being the series finale. If Waternoose does appear he can be voiced by Kelsey Grammer since he was originally going to voice him in Monsters University. Maybe he can be like Yokai from Big Hero 6 of this series. Or perhaps it can just end it here because it’s such a good ending and Randall just remains at large because like Mr Potter from It’s A Wonderful Life loneliness is what he asked for and his karma since he had panty of chances to remain friends with Mike and redeem himself. It would be a unique fate for a Disney and Pixar villain. Pinocchio does show that sometimes criminals get away. I had three possibilities:
    1. Johnny Worthington really did change for the better, but just believes scream power is better than laugh power. Did have good intentions for Tylor.
    2. Roger is evil either on his own or was hired by Worthington to sabotage Monsters Inc and frame Tylor to manipulate him into working at Fear Co. Considering the fake nice person cliche and the telephone conversation sounded like a villain henchmen being afraid to tell there boss they failed and arguing with them.
    3. Randall Boggs was behind everything.

when I watched the series, I could tell this season was most likely going to have Tyler question if he can be a jokester, get back to scaring, only to have to scare a kid that he knew (likely Ben) and then feel bad about that and not want to scare anymore.
I wasn't sure if Roger was a red herring and there was someone else doing the sabotage or a double red herring and they were getting us to believe it was just a red herring.

I know what you mean but the story is about them it’s about Tyler and his friends. I loved having more of them in this series

  • @lulystalgianature2968

Season 2... we didn't expect it, we didn't ask for it, but when it arrived... my goodness! Season 1 was underwhelming and kinda boring. Didn't do the movie too much justice. But then comes season 2 and not only did it redeemed the first season, but did the movie proper justice. Many people were upset that Tylor's supposed character development in the first season was seemingly being wasted in the next one, but it actually made things better. If anything, it was his desire to be a jokester that came in too fast. Thankfully season 2 fixed that by making him have doubts about his decision. You work hard at being something and then suddenly want to change it? Yeah, that didn't convince me, but the second season fixed that. And it was an amazing touch having Tylor go through a similar scenario Sulley did to finally understand what he said about Boo.
Then the characters. Roger Rogers was a very welcoming addition. We were all fooled into thinking he was a secret bad guy, especially when we learned he was Waternoose's son, but not only is he as nice as he first appears, he is NOTHING like his father, and that is a marvelous lesson. Just because some of your family members are bad doesn't mean you're going to be that way too.
And Johnny. Another character that fooled us. We also think he mellowed out and change for the better. After all, Sulley went through that jerk phase too and changed for the better. Johnny however, not only was he the same jerk as before, he actually got worse. And that was another great addition. Some people change for the better when they grow, but others don't and might become even worse than before. It happens.
