    These songs just sound so much better when they’re performed by Bruce IMO

      You can hear that this song was written for Blaze. Bruce is an amazing singer but the Song sounds better with Blaze

    The greatest metal band of all time with 39 albums released altogether including 16 studio albums & over 100M copies sold worldwide. And as a cherry on top, Steve Harris is a massive Nightwish fan.

    I've worked with Blaze on one of his solo albums, and he is such a great guy.
    His time with maiden was going to be tough whatever they released, as the old fans don't like to accept new people in. They still have it in for Janick and he's been there 30 years!
    Blazes voice is totally different to Bruces which ment they really changed their sound, which people didn't like, and the two albums did have a number of flops on, but there are some absolute classics on them too! One in particular that gets overlooked is called Como Estai Amigos on Virtual XI you should check it out.

    If you watch Blaze singing it live there's no comparison Bruce brings the song to life.

    when people/fans have long histories with a particular band and the music they/we love becomes attached to memories of that period in a persons life, any change in the band is hard to accept. We compare what they were then to what they've become. Often more times than not those/we people are going to have a problem with any significant change or even minor ones. The best thing I find when I watch your videos is you don't have that history so you just listen, with no history to tint in your expectations. I find it very enlightening to see a person outside the bubble who just wants to hear music and THEN without bias hear the catalog of a bands music all at once, free of the emotion and preexisting passion that can sometimes blind us as fans of a band. I'm one of those people and it's very hard to disconnect the memories and emotions from the songs that shaped my formative years.

    I wore THE SHIT out of this DVD. It was very well done. IMO this is/was Maiden in their absolute prime.

    I think with virtual xi there were a few songs with repetitive lyrics. Which can be great for live performances, but as a studio album not so much. Blaze is a good singer, but I’d take Bruce’s versions of clansman and sign of the cross every time.

    Blaze had very big shoes to fill when Bruce left but honestly the two albums with Blaze were not very good. The band was going through some hard times especially Steve cause he was getting a divorce and his dad passed away so his song writing wasn't that great. Honestly Bruce sings this song with more passion than Blaze if you compare the two live performances you can tell the difference.

  • @similartracks
    @similartracks Před 4 lety +1

    Blayze vocals are great.. but for the tracks.. they kinda fit.. but some tracks it was awkward..
    his live was inconsistent.. sometimes he was good.. other times not so much..
    for fitting tracks.. Bruce vocal is the best.. probably good thing you were given this version not Blayze

    sorry but listening to blaze do halloweed be thy name. great song but ordinary when he does it. he just lacks the voice and stage presence for this band. bruce was born to sing with this band in front of huge audiences and steve has someone who can sing whatever he writes. a perfect match, so is this lineup in music and writing ability.

      What are you referring to ? I know it’s Bruce singing.

    • @johnsurreal
      @johnsurreal Před 3 lety

      Bruce is fine unless he tries Paul's songs or in this case, Blaze's. Unfortunately the energy is way different here than it was with Blaze (seen them 19 times) and everyone for themselves, ok? Maiden rules, singer, guitarist, whatever, the concept and the progression is immaculate.
