Its about a kid being draughted off to war, and not being able to understand the reason for war and why people kill each other. pretty sad and so so useless and unbelievable that it's still going on nowadays. nothing worse than a war.

It might not be the very best song of Iron Maiden but those two melodic mid tempo riffs are among the very best riffs of Iron Maiden. I also love the creativity of changing one of the riffs a little bit in 3:36 and 7:44 instead of repeating the same thing before and after the fast paced part, nice touch.

Ahhh.... I remember this week of Maiden. It was the week that I found you here on CZcams. The memories....😄 Missing my teacher! Sabaton released a proper cover of this song a few years ago. Joakim has a different vocal style than Bruce but he puts his stamp on this great song.

@carloscontreras4655 I love it. One of the better Maiden songs suited for Blaze's voice. Blaze is great. I love his voice on Wolfsbane and his solo stuff and he's great with the fans, too.
I must confess its the first time i hear this iron song because at the time of album Fear of the Dark i did not listen the new iron songs anymore but only the previous great ones of years before, so this video for me is a REVELATION and i like a lot this typical iron song with great guitar riffs , good lyrics and the usual energy and iron vibes you make me feel so well after years and years again !
