Great vlog! France looks neat, the architecture is so fascinating, I love how narrow streets are………that place has such a vibe! I will say, paying to use the restroom is not cool though! And the Levi’s situation was kinda unprofessional!
I understand what you’re talking about when you say there’s no substitute for being amongst actual people, just hopefully it’s not sloppy, drunken energy that’s being put off! I’m not one for huge crowds (never have been) especially since the pandemic but I think it’s important to mingle with people from time to time!
I see your hip is still giving you problems though it doesn’t stop you from immersing yourself & being present in every opportunity you have! Your will & determination have always be a catalyst!

Actually it's flemish architecture. Before being invaded by Louis XIV in 1667, Lille was flemish. So yeah it's pretty unique compared to other french cities.
There are some nice places like the Vieille Bourse and the old town, but overall the city is not that great and many neighborhoods are just ugly and dirty. The city is very expensive. But worse, people here think as themselves as Parisians.
I live here for many years now and I want to leave now.
A very good video, with honest opinions. I have filmed a lot in that part of France. So much World War 1 history there. So many people died…
Sorry that you felt uncomfortable entering a bar alone, I think if you would have sat at the bar near the bartender men would have not flirted with you too much. And I agree, French service can be a little cold. Your seafood lunch looked amazing and was not a rip off (I looked at the bill 😊). It is good to see you enjoying life and seeing your family. Actually orthopedic surgeons not all that great how you think, and hip replacement technology created 30 years ago and still doesn’t innovate into anything more efficient that plastic thing that has to be replaced every single decade, so - not very nice positivity here, but other stuff is great life is goody good 😍
