Bigger 3DS was part of "New" 3DS line upgrade though... so more than just bigger screen.
@@KpopN_AZN No it wasn't. The 3DS XL was simply a bigger screen. Later came the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. As for why are people surprised, well people were hoping for an upgraded model due to the many switch pro rumours.
@@frishter Well I guess I forgot that model even though I probably have one stashed somewhere. 😅 Last one I purchased was Hyrule Edition which was the upgraded one.

Why do you even want a Switch Pro? The original works amazing! 60 FPS and 4K graphics rlly aren't needed Imo. The only thing that needs improvement, are the Joy-Cons

@@darthorion2002 people thought that since this trailer got taken down on almost every nintendo channel meant that they're about to reveal a switch pro. this uk channel was (i think) the only official channel where they didn't make it private, so i made the joke. it's a couple days later now and all they've shown was a splatoon edition switch oled (which looks awesome btw), but aparently someone leaked that splatoon switch an hour before it was revealed and in the same post they said that there is gonna be a switch pro this year after all. your choice if you wanna believe that or not but one thing's for sure: if there will be a switch pro, it'll definitely be available in the uk lol

@@dotsyt7765 ...if they include bluetooth, there would be third party controllers which more ppl will opt to buy bc it’ll be cheaper. And that’s a big no no for Nintendo. So no bluetooth for that reason. For now, ppl will just have to get a bluetooth dongle for headphones.That’s what the other guy was trying to say.

an oled screen is great for those who dont already have the system though for me personally i cant see myself upgrading without any improvement to the performance.

Well I did need to replace my Switch, now I know I should hold out for an upgrade.
It's just a oled display, the dock can't even output to 4k.

I feel like this switch is some kind of a ergonomic revision of the older one, and the aimed public is those who still don't had buy one yet. As for me, I still prefer the original switch, I don't really like that big screen, but the dock look really cool tho

I really like the white colour scheme. Idk if I’ll get this yet it depends how much I have in the bank lol. I also have the sentimental value of my current switch but this is obviously bigger and I’m guessing the portable screen looks way nicer.

welp, looks like the oled rumours were true. the design aspect - especially the dock - is quite an improvement, along with the kickstand. it's nice that they made the screen a little wider and improved the audio quality, aswell. but i doubt that joy-con drift will be resolved. overall, i think it's good, but i'll probably stick to using my normal switch.
bruh, if the only improvement is something you’ll only notice in hand held mode, and a cable that they should’ve added years ago, with probably the same broken joycons, it’s not good ;-;

i don't i always play in handheld mode i love indie games and being able to play undertale minecraft and enter the gungeon in on the go is amazing

@@charizardoreo no the only game that looks worse on my switch that i play is hitman 3 i bought the switch for switch exclusives and indie games my pc is way to clunky and indie games have horrible steam support on the switch some of my indie games run smoother the xbox and switch versions of undertake run weirdly worse on pc not to mention according to my measurements you could fit 150 switches inside my pc case
I was never a lite fan but at least this is heading in the right direction
The only upgrade from this worth buying for current Switch owners is the new dock with cable ports. But if that’s miraculously Switch OLED exclusive (and I honestly wouldn’t put it past Nintendo to do something like this), then that’s a big fail on their part. And also with no mention of new joycons yet, then this is really just a huge cash grab.
So... what are the differences between this and the older Switch in docked mode? Like if I don't need the bigger screen and better audio on the actual device itself, is this basically a luxury upgrade? Is it really more powerful or is it similar? All I would care about is doubling the performance so that games with unlocked frame rates run a lot better.
Nintendo making a more powerful switch would be as bad as the New 3DS's, some game would be available for the old one and others for the new one, and everyone would have to upgrade to the Newer switch to play newer games so more power doesn't seem like a good idea, more like a nightmare.
It's a shame that the rumours have turned out to not be a pro version... This is full of welcome quality of life improvements, but it really just highlights what should've been in from the beginning. I guess the question now is whether they're worth the price tag of a new console! I think I'll hold out for the next version.
When Nintendo made the newer model of the Switch with the better battery life with the different box, and I think that the old model and the old box can become collectables someday.
Now with the OLED model, it'll be super collectables!

Oled actually is going to be a nice touch, and don’t forget that it increases the picture quality, and brightness, making the screen bigger will really make handheld more exciting! The stand will be a huge upgrade, and I personally am looking forward to this new upgrade for the switch. Thank you for your time.

@SmgUk The Nintendo Switch is currently the 7th best selling console of all time. It also sells quite quickly when stores get stock. They don't need to upgrade the system majorly unless sales dip down.

Great model for new purchasers who want the hybrid aspects of it. Me? I can't be bothered to take mine off my dock. In fact if they had made a cheaper model for home only (a reverse of the lite) I would've bought that.
