- "VERS/US [Demo]"- the final track from the bonus EP addendum to the new album by the reigning master of synthesized retro-futurism. Perturbator's highly-awaited "The Uncanny Valley" and "The Uncanny Valley - Bonus" EP go for pre-order in early March, 2016, with a May 6th release date.
"VERS/US" is an unfinished demo from "The Uncanny Valley" writing sessions. As the album writing came to a close, Perturbator realized this song didn't quite fit in with the themes of the main album. The song was left in a more 'rough-stage' and was included in the bonus EP to give a sense of what Perturbator's writing process is like.

I feel like this is Perturbator's spectacular farewell to traditional synthwave before moving on to a more experimental, "post-synthwave" sound. It's a shame that it never got past being a demo.

I can see why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch but I can't see how this song is in a "rough stage"
+Xfrimz I would guess you're not a producer. There are probably things wrong with it that normal people can't hear during casual listening and certainly not in a YT vid which adds loads of artefacts from file compression. The later stages of the production process involve lots of tiny tweaks that are barely audible to most people but make a tune sound polished and professional. Your average person can only hear changes in volume about 0.5-1dB, whereas an experienced producer/engineer can hear changes as small as 0.2dB if they know what they're listening for.
As a complete layman when it comes to music, the one thing that really annoys me about this song, which I otherwise love, is the salt shaker-like sound that first appears at 0:24 and in ~1 second intervals afterwards... It just doesn't fit in well for me and I can't unhear it, even in sections where it gets nearly completely overwhelmed by other sounds.
