Yeah that wasn't a bad joke. Taht was him admitting he or/and his family is racist. And although he is attracted to her, he doesn't own up to or refuses to claim her. That's his subconscious thoughts coming up. It was gonna be an issue sooner or later. Nvm that he already planned on leaving her as & thought of her as if she was a place holder.
