I just would like to mention that Rayman's whole arc of being replaced references how Ubisoft was treating the character during the Rabbids Era (before Rayman Legends)
They even got a cartoon show before he was ever put into animated form
I wouldnt doubt the other games were written keeping in mind how ubisoft has treated their franchises
Ok *technically* Rayman did get a show in 99 but it was only like 4 episodes long before it was cancelled. Rayman was even voiced by Billy West!

However it was a total commercial failure and was canceled due to poor grasp on source material, as well as boring and dreck writing and plot lines. The writers wanted to make this show for the money, rather than for the source material and content. It was supposed to have a total of 26 episodes, but sadly it got 4 episodes instead. This show was so bad that it killed Rayman's TV career, but at least he made an appearance in Cartoon Network's MAD show in a parody called "Everybody Loves Rayman", and he made a guest appearance in this recent 2023 show here as a TV personality.
That would explain why Jade and Peyj were done so dirty despite having the most potential in the story(they literally fight an equivalent of New Eden in their game). That's just what Ubisoft did. Now all they have to do is keep teasing like they're going to bring them back but never actually do it.
I love laser hawk because of the clash between animation and live action and pixel art, it’s a good creative method
A perfect amalgamation of the Ubisoft universe.

The fact that the "Niji 6" are a reference to Tom Clancy's "Rainbow 6" and that one of the members is canonically xenophobic is probally one of the funniest bits of self-awareness I've ever seen
I really hope Rex Powercolt shows up considering blood dragon is in the name of the show

Given the timeframe of the show and if it is in the Blood Dragon universe, let’s say Rex does appear-he would most likely be a kid or a teen. Which would be pretty interesting to see Laserhawk be Rex’s mentor.
@@fulcrum6760 what do you mean? Rex was a soldier when the U.S.A still existed, and the game happens in 2007, besides hybrids weren't a thing in the game, and in the series they have been around a while, so the series must be at least 20 years later

Yeah I was shocked at how fast shit hit the fan in this series. Although the villain twist at the end was weird.
This show reminds me of those fan-films and fan-animations that do crazy crossovers of game characters or that puts them in a darker setting (Fitting considering Adi Shankar made a few fan-films like that), it's basically giving one of those projects a larger team & budget, and I dig it
Like the Smash series Matt Mercer made. Which is pretty funny because he plays Ganondorf in that if I recall.
That's the whole Adi Shankar's agenda. He was really inspired by a short film made by fans with Batman fighting Alien and Predator. The whole thing looked like it was made by the exact children who played with their toys of different brands, and so Adi wanted to do this kinda stuff and still does! That's amazing!
It's funny how there's references to tons of Ubisoft games and then there's just actual wrestlers. Just real life people getting caught up in all this.
The best references or adapatations are those that are still enjoyable and well executed without being familiar with them. With that said, I actually had fun with the series. Rayman and Bullfrog are the best parts of it, and I’m not even familiar with the Rayman and Assassin’s Creed franchises. Still, I enjoyed them somehow.
If you are familiar you’d realize how bad the show is 😂

@@Ax_h_Dm_Fn horatio is very likley the guy in dreads and josh is the guy in the beanie also I forgot to mention the other character seen aswell aspart of the gang that you may at first be confused who josh is is actually clara from watchdogs 1 just compare the hair in one of the shots that show a front view of their faces

Apparently in an interview, all of ubisoft's games are in this world, just not visible. They may be seen later, but for the time being, they are some where far off.
We’ll time to speculate. Tom Clancy appearance, voodoo dice. A possible Scott pilgrim appearance (currently releasing next November?) Zombi game. And a-per entry child of Eden game is the name of this city. Would make less sense if I didn’t search this up
I guess that means Buck Bumble is yet to make an appearance.

The Board of Directors are also stand in for AC Templars/Abstergo hence the Red Cross on their masks. Eden is also a stable reference how they created the modern world after orchestrating the world wars in ac lore.
Sahra even straight up calls the Board of Directors out as being the AC Templers in the last Episode.
i can see why... that Eden City has so many issues!!!
for example; how the Board of Directors manipulating poor Rayman(alter) to spread nothing but lies... now that Rayman(alter) is a Vigilante(and nickname himself, Ramon), he will get revenge for what they did to him...!
Another reference, very small, is the phrase sarah says in chapter 2 "you are ghosts. you dont exist" when in ghost recon they usually say the same thing but in the first person.
When they blend in their team name, it's literaly in the font used on the Ghost Recon titles.
They had a little Shin-chan animation in there too
Most people wouldn’t know what Shin-chan was unless they were knowledgeable on anime or remembered it airing on Adult Swim. I was surprised to see it be parodied in this show.

@@nemuiexeyeah there was a dub of Shin Chan, it changed a lot to make the humor more adult oriented (the original Japanese Shin Chan was very boundary breaking but ultimately it was still meant for families),
But the dub of Shin Chan that aired on adult swim is kinda comparable to the Ghost Stories dub, there’s lots of jokes in it about republicans, and other stuff that was just not in the original show haha. It is a good dub though

it's essentially every ubisoft franchise mashed together into the world of far cry blood dragon
This relates so well to the "new audiences".
As long as there's cameos, nostalgia or famous references, they clap.

This show was a pleasant surprise and hope it gets the recognition it deserves.
It was really cool to see Marcus and the DedSec crew play a pretty big role in this.
Would be great that they did a reference to other Ubisoft games like Child Of Light or FC3: Blood Dragon itself.
Lazerhawk himself is a cyber comando like rex powercolt and the concept is base on being a remix of farcry blood dragon
No to mention the spec ops squad they made are ghost like the ghost recon series
Rex would probably be a kid in this timeframe or a teenager if it’s in the same universe.
Loved the series, it is so... Original? Creative? Chaotic? Strange? Good i like these aspects

I think the scene with Rayman knocking that guy out with one of his floating hands better represents the Rayman games.
And him being an icon for Eden while being treated poorly behind the scenes maybe symbolic for whats been going on between Ubisoft and Rayman (and probably some so called fans who just hurt him for humor in fanworks) in recent years.
Eden Corp is also a reference to the New Eden cult from Far Cry 5/New Dawn!

Although it is a bit too short for just 6 episode, but it is still pretty well done series. I like the story, the world building and plot twist on this.
This whole show was a complete fever dream. And tbh, it was pretty good.

Don't forgot the disguise choice scene. There's also a reference of a Globox disguise. And maybe also a Heartless disguise style, but I'm not sure about that last one.
The first episode caught me off guard with the watch dogs reference. Yes I have the pfp and what not but this was before I watched Cap. Lazerhawk and Iike how DedSec became a major point in the story too. I really hope they make more episodes or a new season.

I think Laserhawk might be a reference to Rex Power Colt saying the robo arm and eye even tho its on the wrong side but that could be a stretch

I hope Ubisoft’s more obscure characters make appearances in later seasons, like Ed from Tonic Trouble or Rocket from Rocket: Robot on Wheels or even Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes

Have you noticed that (excluding extras) the only main cast characters linked to an existing brand who die are those who haven't had a new game in years (Sam from Spliter cell, Jane and Pey's from bgae)
I wish in the scene where Sam Meets Marcus he referred to him as "Retr0", Marcus' hacker name from WD2. I would've been a nice reference for those who pay close attention to detail.
sam fisher took me so long to get, and then his daughter, it took me until he put on the goggles before i face palmed and got it. it was one of many of those kinds of references that would fly over your head until they did something related to their origin.

I’m actually glad the references and cameos were more unique and lesser-known from just Sonic or Batman.
This show is amazing. It doesn't sacrifice quality for cameos and references, unlike that one particular cinematic universe

I have several questions, like how was this made, how I've never heard of it, and who made this.
I didn't know any of these characters beforehand when I was watching the show I just know they were from video games and now I wanna know everything about the games these characters came from
I thought Laserhawk was supposed to be a reference to Bionic Commando and the frog was meant to be the frog from Bubble Bobble
It still can be a bionic commando reference... in a roundabout way.
Laserhawk as a character isn't from any game in particular aside of being tied to Blood Dragon... a standalone Far Cry 3 DLC that was a pastiche of 80's action hero tropes.
And the both Rex Powercolt and Dolf Laserhawk are so called "Cyber Commandos".
Also the character from Bubble Bobble was a "Bubble Dragon", but him blowing bubbles might be a reference.
The visions of past and future in his bubbles is mostly an Assassins Creed influence though.
