- It's that time of year again, Billie Flylish is moulting and needs some extra care - when new feathers grow in they are encased in a keratin shaft which needs to be removed. Normally another bird will do this for them with their beak, but when you have one bird it is important that you help them with the pins they can't reach, like on the tops of their heads! Moulting also means they are going through hormonal changes, which makes them more needy and likely to want more attention and affection from you!
Thanks for joining us! Billie Flylish is a 2-year-old blue-fronted Amazon parrot.

Beautiful Amazon, I have a yellow crowned amazon myself and they are really great parrots. Very affectionate, loving, sweet and, at times, a very noisy pain in the bum!!
I spend hours helping my amazon preen his new feathers, he's been going through a really big one and it seems never-ending!
Wouldn't be without him, he's a great little man. Billie really is a sweetheart, a beautiful little lady x
What a wonderful video! It's clear that you and your parrot love and trust each other. I don't think Billie moved a muscle during all 4:43 minutes, he was relaxed and happy! So glad that you shared this!
My Yellow Nape, Lestat, is an ornery molting dragon right now lol but stroking and scratching his head soothes him and helps all that itching!
what a lovely parrot, so cute and friendly
Thank you!
Que bonito nos dan todo su cariño y su confianza.
Beautiful
Wonderful music, too - what is it? Thanks.
