Love the remoteness you can get by flying out into the desert. Nothing like isolation for relaxation and a reset. Nice modern taildragger.
Incredible film making skills in this particular video! So cinematic and so many different angles and also the color grading is on point. Well done JP!
Reminds me Herzog + Wenders
Namibia is just stunning!!!! You’ve mastered blending in the science of flight, the mystery of flight, incredible incredible landscapes and cinematic talent to capture it. You are a gift to the aviation community and society and I hope you know how much we appreciate you!
Incredibly beautiful video, there were so many amazing shots! Amazing that you were able to create this all on your own, without a big crew and a million dollar budget! Better than any documentary I have seen on TV ...
This was a fun one! 😁 Enjoyed the shots at night, that’s always hard to capture. Fly safe! 👊🏼
Hey Riley, I’m can’t wait til you start having your own flying adventures in the DarkAero 1!
The worst part of this video was watching your face and hearing you had to leave BLISS and go back to j-burg.
Phenomenal VIDEO! Excellent production! Best video to date! Keep up your wonderful dual work of showing what is and what can be! CONGRATULATIONS!
The quality of these videos is just cinematic!
I love this, JP!!! 🥹
I will be honest, I didn't want the video to end. Great cinematography!
These scenes are beyond incredible! What a place and credit to you for capturing it so well for us here at home to enjoy. Love it!
Morning coffee with Ouma rusks in that landscape, solo, classic!
Amazing video as always! Thanks for bringing us on your adventures. You make it feel like we’re there! Safe travels!
Excellent ! Two especially amazing moments JP - #1 the flyover with the camera on the ground - that would have been tricky to sort out but it worked absolutely beautifully & #2 the 'eye adjustment to the dark' segment...that was inspired, original, technically excellent and very VERY well done. Brilliant !
Thank you for this experience. Nature is beautiful, and the filming is smilla are extraordinary.
Also, that sling high wing might be the best GA plane around. It’s stunning, doesn’t have a wing strut and four seats! So versatile! What a good commercial for them. I would love to build one day
I enjoyed your video very much. I appreciated the cinematic quality of it. I'm looking forward to following you on your round the world trip.
Awesome video man! The cinematography and composition paired with the Namib scenery was everything and more!
Great story. Incredible cinematography that captures magical natural lighting. Nice music too. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see you again JP. Increíble how you are inlove of the desert in África. It's like your soul or heart tells you to be there. Beautiful places Enjoy your trip and take care.
Awesome! I have loved camping in remote spots since I was a kid, and now I also love flying my bush plane (a Husky)...
reminds me of some nights in the mountains. wonderful feeling! thanks for sharing.
Good to see you again and am sure glad you did not sleep on the ground with the snakes but it does seem like one could make it into the cabin with the doors open...a beautiful vlog....thanks...take care and stay safe!
Such an excellent video! That experience would be very high on my bucket list.
What a majestic scene and you have it all to yourself! The video quality is definitely top notch 👍
I got to say that this here is totally amazing JP! After watching countless videos of vanlifers on CZcams and following your adventures since your first world tour with Louis, I never thought you could just land somewhere and sleep in your plane haha. A true vanlifer from the future with your "flying car". Also shout out to your incredible editing, color grading and music matching skills :)
Great video- awesome adventure! THIS is why I follow the channel.
What a stunner! Fell in love with Namibia through your big trip, but this blew my mind once again. Video on a screen can never portray a place in its full scale, but I felt the vibe and being there. Thank you for these videos and sharing your adventours. You always make me smile and have a sweet, soft calming feeling in my body,, after watching your videos. They are the diffrent kind of comfort food and i cherish them! Also, wether on here or on instagram, your music game is impressive. Its a rare occurence when Im not vibing to a song you underlay and adding another artist to my library. ^^
Wow. Such an amazing landscape.
Beautiful video. I found a little usb rechargeable pump on Amazon for my bush refueling. Saves your back lifting plus scratching the paint on the wing with the container.
Love the new Nam colours on the HW JP! Can’t wait.
So very beautiful!! I was blessed to travel in Africa when I was young, and it was an experience that has stayed with me for my entire life. Truly a magical place. I often get to camp in the remote parts of the desert southwest of the US. Usually for a week at a time. There is something special about very remote places. It speaks to some of our souls and we are blessed. As I get older I understand more and more that living and adventurous has so many emotionally healthy benefits. Fly safe. Stay adventurous.
Magic video. Ohh my how this bought back memories. Thanks for sharing. Best you slept inside. Kewl bro!!
Love your channel man! Keep up with the good work
Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹

Such a stunning place for some alone time and life reflection.
big fan, great adventure and film making. sometimes you have to get lost to find yourself. incredible beauty in the landscapes, thank you for sharing. We have similar but different landscape here in West Texas- Please holler if you plan on visiting and i can join you in my Yankee!!
Great video JP!
The flyingman with amazing storytelling skill. I enjoyed a lot your videos. I have came to know about this amazing channel through Dan.
Now on I'm gonna watch your every content for sure.✌️✌️
I want to build a TSI Sling or an RV-10 which I came close to taking over an empennage. Love your channel and extremely jealous. I visited ZA last Fall from the USA for over a month. Spent most of the time in the Cape and also Krieger. We left for the USA from Tambo, but didn’t have enough time to tour the Airplane Factory. Next time!
that was an amazing vid JP
Just superb!
Thanks for the post JP!
Yo! I’m the line service at PSA in concord (big guy with the manbun) !Big fan, but also admire your work as a filmmaker and pilot. I seen you earlier today and when you came in the Rotax. I’m a pilot as well so It was super sick to see such a beautiful bird. Hope to see you again sometime in the future!
Epic my friend! Cheers! 🍻
Amazing!!
JP you are officially more popular than Paw Patrol in my house now. I put Harry and Jagger in front of Paw Patrol this morning and started watching this video on my phone.
Within 5 second of hearing your voice both boys forgot the pups even exist and came over to watch you on my phone with me.
What an adventure man I’m so jealous and miss your vibe at the Sling factory.
JP, this is magnificent!
Very familiar with that area, we flew to Solitaire in August 2019, slept there, then to Rostock and Swakop. Sleeping in the aircraft , I also prefer by removing seats and laying flat, especially in the C206.
No Oryx winked at you at 2am?
Simply awesome
Well done mate!
Good egg.
Australia
Excellent JP, thank you for a very inspirational video. Gruesse aus Deutschland
Stunning.
The happiness I felt watching this video 👏🔥🙌 one day I hope to do this as well😭😭
What a perfect camp spot.
Very Good!
Living the dream.
What an experience!!!
I'm so jealous dude... 😏😏
What an adventure!!!
this is the exact reason I'm getting my pilots licenses, should solo this weekend weather been holding me up. But fingers crossed.
Hey! Found your channel around a year ago from Trent palmer, you make great videos!
top 5 video so far 😍
😄 how many go arounds past that landing camera shot did you do lol? epic scenery!!
Only joking i know you aced it first time 🛩
You are a very impressive and independent human.
great video! do you need to report to air traffic when landing in desert
JP, pleeeease more scenes like 15:06..15:22 with that kind of music. Epic, the whole video, what pictures! A Dream! Did you by the way consider some light astronomical equipment out there in the south? Or is your video setup able to pick it up in a moonless night? The milkyway etc.?
I think desert nature is the only thing that befits this kind of aircraft, and I liked that.yeah
amazing video!! What camera/ setup do you use?
That is a beautiful aircraft. What a great adventure. What is an rx that you mentioned seeing and hearing on the ridge?
Hi, it is frequently called a Gemsbok by the locals / "oryx gazella" = large antelope.
7:50 'yup'
👍 ... 6 Juliet Papa looks amazing though
The phrase; " Sleep like a baby." I don't know where did it come from, but after having a baby we realised that there is something wrong with expression. Awaking every 2 hours wet and/or dirty with 💩 and hungry. Baby sleep isn't easy! 🤣😂🤣
Okay setting up a camera and running a few meters back to get it is one thing. But landing an airplane and the getting up and land again just for the shot is just insane hahaha
2 mre, a little cheek, lol, sounds about right from this Infantrymans perspective! Lol.
Your weather was great, we were literally blown out of Namibia a month ago by the North Easter. How does one describe the place to someone who has not been fortunate enough to visit it yet?
Beautiful
During your flight, I noticed the river below. Is there no landing areas near the river? Are there fish in the river? If possible, that would seem like a wonderful adventure.
JP is the sling you will be flying around in or is it the one that you have had built in your own specific livery i.e the gold, black and white sling?
make sure to deploy a few thumpers away from your campsite :-)
Solitaire International!
At the risk of stating the obvious, the scenery is majestic :)
Word to the wise: many long hours spent with Louis will eventually result in feeling cheeky...
so beautiful
What do you do for a living?
Wow…
Are there mosquitos or other biting insects out in the desert?
@5:45. Landing twice just for the shot. Now there is some dedication.
wow..
