Story told to my be a friend while serving in VN: An Army L-19, making recon passes along a river landed on a sand bar. In a manner similar to this video, a tire broke seal and deflated. The pilot had tools, but no way to inflate the tire. He constructed an A-frame to lift the wing by kicking in the side supports, little by little. He then removed the tire casing and filled it with wet sand. it held together well enough for the sand bar takeoff and landing back at the field. Ingenious!

JP you are not alone dear! (your little tyre issue showed that)
I feel your elation and joy, Namibia, it's peoples friendliness, generosity, love of their homeland and the scenery are overwhelmingly goosebumpy :)
I'm a 6th gen aussie, youngest ppl holder, got it 1976, travelled for 25+ years around the globe every month, and of all the amazing, out of the way locations I had the pleasure of getting to know Namibia is hands down my favourite - I feel that I was born in the wrong country! On my first arrival into Windhoek I, unexpectedly, whispered to my self "I can / will live here". I had the same uncontrollable smile on my face you had just before minute 15. It was love at first sight....and it got more intense as I engaged more and more with the people and the cultures/s. I now live on Vancouver Island, but will shortly be returning to Namibia for a 'fix'. I, and I'm sure many others look forward to following you over the next days (with clean hands :)....and of course on your next big trip around the block. Peter

Having just done my 9th trip to Nam on my Honda Africa Twin (and twice to the FR Canyon Lodge, we were the first new and old AT’s there) one thing is so clear, one cannot describe Namibia to those who have not been there … yet. Drove down to the end of the strip too on our first trip to the Lodge. Following your trip and build diligently … and I used to fly a C177 in another life. Cheers J-P.

And I used to be ATC at Jan Smuts airport. (Relax it was in the '80's and no danger to aviators lol). Best of luck. Hubby is one of your patreons and a 'wannabe' pilot (flying in SA costs an arm and a leg and parts of your torso).

You can get small battery-powered tire pumps. You can get multi-purpose ones that serve as a battery-backup, a jump-starter, a tire pump, and a work light. You can charge your USB devices from them too. Might be worth picking one up.

Visited your old hangar in Swakop where you did some tiling in one of your previous videos. Always great to go to Namibia! Keetmanshoop terminal is like a walk back in time to the 1970”s.
