i remember watching these shows every sunday with my dad. Dad had a gospel group and i was surrounded by the sweet four part harmony all my life. Thanks dad for the blessings.
Mark McClurg I too watched these when I was a child. My parents and uncle were a trio and as my brother and I got older we sang 4 part harmony with my parents. I thank God every day that I was introduced to this type of gospel music. I still get a blessing to this day.
I so agree with Bill about Mrs.Dottie. Such an amazing talented singer and songwriter. my favorite is also Sheltered in the arms of God. Next to that is I will glory in the cross
JD was not just a great bass. He was also a great showman. Not meant in a negative way at all. Those suits were something. and then there was JD's big wide suspenders. He was terrific. Les Beasley did a great job of putting that program together with all the personas to deal with. Big thanks to Les for all he did for Gospel music.
Back in the early 90's I lived and worked on the south side of Atlanta. And there was a discount men's shop called "Barry Mfg." that had some great buys on some nice suits. And one Saturday afternoon I saw the Florida Boys' bus parked out front and the guys were in, shopping for suits. (These guys were heroes to me and in fact, the first record album I ever bought with money that I had earned was by the Florida Boys.) But I still wanted to have some fun with them .. so very sincerely, I walked over to Les and said.. I don't mean to disturb, but I'm a big fan and saw your bus outside.. (of course he grinned) and then I said "Now which one of you is George Younce?" I thought he was going to fall on the floor laughing.. in fact, they all did.. and eventually they caught on that I was joking. But it was a very cool experience, and they couldn't have been nicer. And that's my "Florida Boys" story.
Will Never be Gospel Quartet sounds great like this anymore

EXCELLENT!
Oh love their singing but on backwards glance at those suits!!! I wonder just what they think of the yellow birds = God Blessed them..
"The Jars of Clay are going to burst wide open when the angels set my spirit free"
They definitely do not sing “jars”. Haha
IT'S THE DOORS OF CLAY ARE GOING TO BURST WIDE OPEN!
Yup... that be Donny
Anyone know the name of the guitarist with JD & the Stamps? That was some salty fingerpicking!
His name is Duke Dumas. That was Tim Beatty playing the bass guitar and Tony Brown on the piano.
