I would give him a 9/10 for coming off the bench COLD without any expectation of really starting at all this season, with no 1st Team reps in practice leading up to this, with the stark reality that Aaron Rodgers is probably gone for the season, and shaking off the butterflys and doing a very nice job for the victory.
That throw at 5:53 , that's the kind of weird off-script short pass that Patrick Mahomes does all the time. When I look at this video I think "If Rodgers makes that pass, if Josh Allen makes that pass, what do I think of it?" and in this case I would be saying "nice throw" and "nice completion". Zach will be fine with this OC and this strong team around him, very much different than last season. Jets will make the playoffs, may very well win the division.
@@PlayLikeAJet Yeah its like when someone expects the worse it's going to cloud everything they see from that point forward. I checked out all the plays from the game in slow-motion and what I saw was an offensive line that got shoved back and speed rushed around on a lot of it's pass plays, giving the QB little time to do anything but run, and let's face it, it only took that line FOUR SNAPS to get Rodgers put out for the whole year. Zach will be very good, it's the line I'm worried about. GO JETS.
@@ladistar You are NUTS. Go check out all the plays from the game and tell me that Brown and Becton weren't getting speed rushed around on nearly every pass play. They had Wilson running for his life AGAIN and they got Rodgers put out of the game after just FOUR SNAPS! And you're telling us it ain't the line??? GET OUT!
Lol can we stop with the crazy comparisons?? There's nothing "off-script or Mahomes like about this play.... This is where the ball was supposed to go and the throw was clumsy and lucky. Yes!! It was big-time improvement but lets not get carried away. This was a very below average performance for an NFL QB...
My personal opinion the hero of the game was michael carter. His blocking as a running back was beyond elite. On those plays where we got the big first down he leveled the blitzer After properly identifying.
I can't believe I missed that, because I've watched Michael Carter get trucked trying to pass block guys who outweigh him by 150 pounds, but he still gets up and does it again to buy the QB more time. One of my favorites.
Well done! I tend to agree. I just see his body language SO MUCH more calm especially in the pocket and under pressure. Give him 1-2 more seconds of protection and I think he will shine. He's got the arm, that is for certain. He can move ....just protect him a a little longer and he'll be right there!
Good to see growth. Saleh said he’s a rookie again so there will be some mistakes but seeing him bounce back and not completely melt when the INT was thrown impressed me. Seeing him change plays at the LOS was also encouraging. The game seemed to slow down a bit for him. Hope Rodgers is on the sideline when he’s able to so he can be his QB coach
The pick was in the 2nd qtr. He played a very good 2nd half. The biggest detriment to Zach last year was Mike lefleur and "bad apples" that got traded away. I would love to see Rodgers coaching him up and this team to rally around #2. I still believe we can win. #Jets
@@PlayLikeAJet he got crushed, stepped on and chased for like 60+ yards and still made good decisions and had faith in his teammates. He rallied the troops at halftime and contributed to a team win against a Superbowl favorite division opponent. The kid earned lots of respect that night and in my opinion the opportunity to lead the offense.
Mike Lafluers new team had 450 yards offense with 2 rookie recievers. That means all other QB's have a combined average of over 300 yards a game. Let that sink in . Zach was and will always be the problem. This video shows 3 completions to stationionary recievers, a throw while falling down to a wide open reciever and a TD that was probably top 5 worst ever thrown.
@@TonydaGM what?! He inherited a Superbowl winning offense lead by a 15yr veteran QB while working for the offensive minded head coach that won said Superbowl. Basically you just put a mediocre driver in a very fast car and are hanging your hat on the fact that he drove fast once. LoL
@giovannigarcia8876 Every QB that has run a ML offense the past 3 years has averaged 300 plus yards. How complicated is that to understand. Stafford learned a new offense with 2 rookie recievers and threw for 350 yards. These are facts, your talking 7-10 games without Zach over 300 yards , 150 yards with Zach. This isn't a rookie making rookie mistakes, this is his 3rd year. You cannot run a NFL offense with a QB that cant grasp a one read and dump offense. The playbook is dumbed down for Zach and he still sucks. Let it go , the excuses are unbearable. I root for the Jets regardless, it screams out all over his tape. Every game the same shit. We have people doing cartwheels over a 3rd year QB hitting a stationary open recievers 22 yards down field. I have 2 questions which NFL QB cannot make that throw? Would you draft Zach again?
Excellent review. The TD throw was a bad throw but he recognized that's where the ball should go, that's improvement. AND you are spot on that he hit receivers in stride in the right places they could catch them. He def was not doing that last year. I'm still scared out of my mind he's QB1 but maybe, just maybe he's finally improving.
Excellent breakdown. Zach hasn't practiced with the first team all training camp so I expect the timing - especially on the GW touchdown - to improve going forward. He's made huge strides since last season staying in the pocket. I was a huge critic of Zach past 2 seasons but have to admit he looks much better and is humbler which is huge in the lockeroom. I thought the O-line did a good job as well; I keep hearing everyone bashing them, but the protection was good against a very good defense. With Breece and Cook and the stout defense I think Zach has the tools to lead the team to the playoffs.
Forget the outside noise!Give him time guarantee he'll prove to us he's getting ready n better...he played well enough for the win that's all we need let our playmakers make plays RUN THE BALL!#LETSGOJETS
I'm really hoping Zack can make all the critics (Especially the media who are killing him!) eat a big shite burger, saying he's worst QB ever, and will never be any good! A 22 year old kid that was thrown to the wolves at 20 and still learning the pro game has gotten criticized to no end by the media!
It's amazing how everyone is trying to crap on this kid. Last I checked, only he played after Aaron went down. He played the entire game and only threw one pick against a top level defense. So much is so different than last year (other than the o-line); 1) Even with Rodgers not playing, he can still be a mentor and coach him properly because he would be speaking from experience, mvp experience. He had none of that last year. 2) better receivers who won't drop balls like the squad did last year. Zach just has to get it there. 3) the two headed monster of Cook and Breece. At any given time, he can either dump it off to them, play action, or simply have them run even with that trash line. 3) finally, that defense is top tier and can hang with any offense. Zach just how cut down the turnovers, trust Rodgers’ teachings, and trust his instincts whether it's doing his best to give his targets time or scramble. I still believe in the kid. #GangGreen
Nice breakdown on his passing! It would have been a little more honest if you added his other mistakes. The 20yrd backwards run was forgotten about sense he did in the end toss it out of bounds at the last second and his refusal to slide when running the ball drives me absolutely nuts. We have seen improvement for sure and that's great but here we are again. In a perfect world Zach and company would have more time to refine his raw talent. He's in a do or die situation now, lets hope for the best.
For the circumstances surrounding it, Wilson played well. His teammates were wearing Mike White’s face on their shirts last season, the team and the fans basically told him “we don’t want you” 4+ times over the last 2 years. He wasn’t supposed to play, he had no reps, the entire stadium expected him to lose and gave up hope on the whole season. He rallied the troops and led us to a W playing well (after the dumb pick). Can’t ask for much more than that…but it was immediately followed with “WHO CAN THE JETS GET TO PLAY QB?!?”.
Every Jets quarterback other than Mark Sanchez has been let down by the offensive line. No quarterback in the world could be effective with someone in his face on every pass, and I feel horrible for Zach Wilson.
With this elite defense, Breece and Cook in the backfield and a top-5 WR1 in Garrett Wilson, I believe Zach leads this team to the playoffs as long as he's average or better.
Good analysis. However, two plays. On the TD. The DB jumped the lane he was supposed to throw to. Had he thrown it where he was supposed to. It would have been intercepted. Instead, he threw to give Wilson a chance to make a play. Another was the 20 yard scramble he ended throwing ball away. He saw that Buffalo covered the screen. Receiver could have been blown up, where any bad thing could happen, but he threw it away instead. Last year, he would of pressed his luck. The interception was a no-brainer. He needs to see that better. Considering, he was maybe in shock for being in the game. He managed to recover to help the team win.
The only other catch in NFL history that compares to Garrett Wilson's touchdown was the Antonio Freeman catch on Monday night. Football for the Packers like 25 years ago.
It’s tough to know if optimistic jets/ZW fans like us are making up reasons to stay positive or if it’s real progress. I lean towards the latter due to his comp % being 66% this game, no outrageous hero ball throws, took check downs in a timely fashion, didn’t escape clean pockets for no reason, and the short/med range passes looked easy. Plus he went 9 of 13 for 90 yards and a TD after the int! It’s definitely something to build on!!
I really hope the O-line steps up. Rodgers, Wilson, they are both running for their lives. Fortunately Zach isn't taking off as early as he did last year. He's getting rid of the ball faster which is the only thing you can do with this current line.
Really balanced review. Jalen Hurts threw an interception just like Zach but no one is calling for his head. Josh Allen threw 3 shockers, their not looking for a replacement for him. Give Zach a break and give him time. He beat the Bills as he did last year, you would have thought he had lost given some of the critism.
Listen, still a great win for the Jets but let's be honest, they did get a lot of help from Josh Allen being insanely careless with the ball in the 4th quarter. The defense is elite level, but the offense has a LOT of work to do. Especially the O-line and now.....once again....the QB.
The Jets were a play away from winning the AFC Championship game with Mark Sanchez. This defense is better than that and I think Zach will play at a higher level
Zach proved that as an above average, competent game manager this team can go far. And with a whole full week to play to Zach’s strengths ( well..beyond banging milfs) and scheme against Dallas Hackett can earn his paycheck.
The crap tv shows where these washed up football players talk about Zach and one said, "NY is too big for him." Really? The guy played the entire game and threw a td pass to Garret Wilson and the Jets won one of heir few first opening game s in years. These sports personalities just have to say bad things because it is more interesting. Zach is much better than last year and Aaron can be credited with his mentoring.
On one play he was hit and falling down and still somehow made the completion.... the commentators barely mentioned it. If it was Mahone's they would have fallen all over each other about how great the throw was. New York is a fishbowl. The guy has all the talent in the world, leave him develop and mature and he'll make a good QB.
The talent is there if he can get rid of the mistakes. He definitely looked calmer. Baby steps but there are improvements to build upon. We need the O line to have a better game. Dallas D is better than Bills D by a good bit.
Yes, thank you. Yesterday's episode on Play Like A JET - There's Always Next Year, was the 1st time I had to stop listening to the Podcast. The Zach negatively was, too much. It was as if he had no improvement with 4 turnovers. Yes he has a ways to go, but I like what I saw. With the running game we were 5-2.
The "illegal trip" on the return wasn't called because it wasn't an illegal trip.. Watch it in real time. Side official is in perfect position to watch what he's trained to watch for: OB, fumbles, block in back, crack back, and tripping etc. TD's too. When NYJ #55 executes a textbook block, he pushes off and rolls over as he's supposed to. His body and legs complete the roll without intentional leg whipping contact. NFL officials, as Officials in all sports are trained to call what they see, NOT what they think happened or what you think happened. Also, if John Parry was the White hat on the field for this game and not in the replay booth, he never would have questioned his side official on his lack of a call here. This official was the only official able to make any call on that block and have it be accepted by the Referee. No call means that there was no infraction. Benefit of the doubt, if any was in his mind would go to not making the call, as they are trained.
The Jets made the absolute correct decision to stick with Zack Wilson. The Jets added some very good players to their roster, and Wilson didn't look bad at all when he replaced Rogers. Who knows Wilson may turn out to be the Jets franchise Quarterback.
Zach can ball. It's all about his decision making! Psalms 62: Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. God bless! Jesus is the way ✝🤍

A tale of two halves. 40 yards a pick and 0 passer rating, and then 100 yards a TD and a 117 passer rating. Adjustments and overcoming odds
did enough to win. we will have to live with 1 INT a game but the Jets D can overcome 1 mistake
Yep I’m totally with you. There were 3-4 throws that I feel like are being ignored because of who made them
@@PlayLikeAJet Yeah its like when someone expects the worse it's going to cloud everything they see from that point forward. GO JETS.
@@BillySBCthe OL played excellent almost the entire game, you’re overreacting
Yo, your podcast is dope; the delivery is spot on. Fan since Shea Stadium and the Sack Exchange. Ty, bro!
Appreciate that man! Go Jets
Dumping all the CZcamsrs not backing Zach! You’ve got my sub!
I appreciate you man
Well done! I tend to agree. I just see his body language SO MUCH more calm especially in the pocket and under pressure. Give him 1-2 more seconds of protection and I think he will shine. He's got the arm, that is for certain. He can move ....just protect him a a little longer and he'll be right there!
Thanks man. Yep I’m with you there
Good to see growth.
Yep, I hear that. Overall just make subtle improvements and we’ll make the playoffs
The pick was in the 2nd qtr. He played a very good 2nd half. The biggest detriment to Zach last year was Mike lefleur and "bad apples" that got traded away. I would love to see Rodgers coaching him up and this team to rally around #2. I still believe we can win. #Jets
Yeah second half was much cleaner
Zach got to keep doing what he is doing and some more. Its his time now
Has to. Let’s go
@@PlayLikeAJet LFG!!!1🗽✈✈✈
Just a little more growth and chemistry with the 1’s and we can win some games. He’s our QB so I’m rooting for him!
Let’s go 🤝🏼🤝🏼
Excellent review.
Thanks for watching
He’s gonna QB this team to the playoffs. Book it!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the breakdown. Very easy to understand. Cheers 🍻.
Too kind. Thanks for watching 🤝🏼
I really do agree with you.
Thanks for watching
This is great and balanced. Love the comment that "from the online criticism, you would have thought Zach threw 3 picks, not Josh Allen"
Appreciate that!
Me too bro. Let’s roll
Without a doubt.!
He's a bust lol, worse than Russell
Great video!
Ppreciate you
nice breakdown of ZW,, helps alot!
Appreciate you watching
It's amazing how everyone is trying to crap on this kid. Last I checked, only he played after Aaron went down. He played the entire game and only threw one pick against a top level defense. So much is so different than last year (other than the o-line);
1) Even with Rodgers not playing, he can still be a mentor and coach him properly because he would be speaking from experience, mvp experience.
#GangGreen
Let’s go 🤝🏼
Nice breakdown on his passing!
Good breakdown 🔥
Thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks bro. I feel alot better about his growth.
🤝🏼🤝🏼
That 3rd down throw to Garrett while he’s contorting his body was something else.
Big big throw
@@PlayLikeAJetand the reality is for Zach all season , with the run game , all Zach needs to do is make the CLUTCH play/ throw and get tht first down
Just curious where do you get your tape to break down? What software do you use to make these videos? Thanks go Jets!
Great job! Ty!
Thanks man! Appreciate you watching
5:55 stepping up in the pocket got me teary eyed. Thats an NFl QB
Love to see it haha
For the circumstances surrounding it, Wilson played well.
His teammates were wearing Mike White’s face on their shirts last season, the team and the fans basically told him “we don’t want you” 4+ times over the last 2 years.
He wasn’t supposed to play, he had no reps, the entire stadium expected him to lose and gave up hope on the whole season.
He rallied the troops and led us to a W playing well (after the dumb pick). Can’t ask for much more than that…but it was immediately followed with “WHO CAN THE JETS GET TO PLAY QB?!?”.
Been so tough but he showed some balls on MNF
Awesome work Luke , Zach should only get better as the season progresses.
Thanks man! Let’s hope 🤝🏼
Every Jets quarterback other than Mark Sanchez has been let down by the offensive line. No quarterback in the world could be effective with someone in his face on every pass, and I feel horrible for Zach Wilson.
Thank you!!!
He did the same in Detroit last year.
The true test will be Vs belichick in 2 weeks.
Let’s hope he gets through it haha
With this elite defense, Breece and Cook in the backfield and a top-5 WR1 in Garrett Wilson, I believe Zach leads this team to the playoffs as long as he's average or better.
I mean, look how mark played in 2010.
He can play below average and still take us far tbh haha
Succinct. Educational. Fair. Well done. Thanks!
Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching
You are right the TD was a bad throw but that is a timing throw. That should improve with more reps together.
Yeah you’d think so.
My biggest gripe is not getting a TD after an 82 yrd run. It couldn’t have been made any easier for him. Gotta put up 7 after a run like that
Part of that was playcalling. Team was reeling a bit
He clearly the underneath DB with the right trajectory on the throw.
You dont even know, what in the world you are talking about? Beautiful soft touch allowed Garrett to maneuver the football...Shit was ill
We will rally behind Zach Wilson and we will play good football.
🤝🏼🙏🏼
He made those two audibles I knew that ok this kid is learning
100%.
The only other catch in NFL history that compares to Garrett Wilson's touchdown was the Antonio Freeman catch on Monday night. Football for the Packers like 25 years ago.
You’ve gone for a great one there haha
It’s tough to know if optimistic jets/ZW fans like us are making up reasons to stay positive or if it’s real progress. I lean towards the latter due to his comp % being 66% this game, no outrageous hero ball throws, took check downs in a timely fashion, didn’t escape clean pockets for no reason, and the short/med range passes looked easy. Plus he went 9 of 13 for 90 yards and a TD after the int! It’s definitely something to build on!!
It’s hard to hide from the all-22 and it was pretty good all around, especially given the circumstances
I really hope the O-line steps up. Rodgers, Wilson, they are both running for their lives. Fortunately Zach isn't taking off as early as he did last year. He's getting rid of the ball faster which is the only thing you can do with this current line.
Where do you get the film from? A website?
It use to be international game pass. But now I’m scrambling to find it every week. It’s tricky!
Some nice throws on third opposesed to last year makes me feel optimistic . Its some of the easy stuff. I need lafleuer to open the O up next week
In a game he wasn’t supposed to see the field in he came through when it mattered.
Yep, I hear that
Great Work Luke. I was ready to call Brady let him where number 12 and finally bury this Curse. Lol
😂😂😂 man it crossed a lot of our minds
Really balanced review. Jalen Hurts threw an interception just like Zach but no one is calling for his head. Josh Allen threw 3 shockers, their not looking for a replacement for him. Give Zach a break and give him time. He beat the Bills as he did last year, you would have thought he had lost given some of the critism.
Thanks man. I totally agree
I love the breakdown. I also thought he played well. Lets Go Jets!
Thanks for watching 🤝🏼🤝🏼
First video, awesome stuff. Now a subscriber!!!
Buffalo's defense looked absolutely atrocious against that mesh play. Except for conklin it looked like our whole team was wide open.
LET'S GO JETS!!!
Given the situation I think he played well and look forward to him improving throughout the srason
Keep making strides
If Mahomes makes that throw falling down like Zach, they talk ab it for years
😂😂 it’s true
It would’ve gotten added to madden as a throwing animation too
LFG ZW!!!!! WE GOT YOUR BACK!!!
God I hope this staff helped him in the off season 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
You and me both haha
lets not forget Brock Purdy almost went to the Super Bowl last year with a great defense
I mean, look at the 2009 and 2010 jets too.
The Int is shit I do when I play Madden 😂.😂
Zach proved that as an above average, competent game manager this team can go far.
And with a whole full week to play to Zach’s strengths ( well..beyond banging milfs) and scheme against Dallas Hackett can earn his paycheck.
Yep, if you can beat the Bills, you can beat most teams in the NFL.
And he’ll get reps through the week now.
It pains my soul that people still watch it when there are so many incredible breakdown channels haha.
Change is coming
ZW showed alot of grit in the 4th quarter. He needs to lean on Garret Wilson it could be something special.
I hear that!
I hear that, man
This aussie knows his football!
Haha thanks
Much better use of his eyes to hold defensive players off too this season
Yep for sure. It’s weird, he did it really well vs the Bucs his rookie season and then it went away for a bit
The talent is there if he can get rid of the mistakes. He definitely looked calmer. Baby steps but there are improvements to build upon. We need the O line to have a better game. Dallas D is better than Bills D by a good bit.
He just needs to be (ironically) Derek Carr level of QB and we’re making a nice playoff run
Yep.
Agree
Didn't think an English guy could analyze American football like this!
Zach year 3 loading 📈
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes, thank you. Yesterday's episode on Play Like A JET - There's Always Next Year, was the 1st time I had to stop listening to the Podcast. The Zach negatively was, too much. It was as if he had no improvement with 4 turnovers. Yes he has a ways to go, but I like what I saw.
With the running game we were 5-2.
That interception was terrible, but I always love a QB who puts a good hit on the guy who just picked him off.
Yeah Zach’s always had that to hom
People love to whinge
Defiantly some great thrown and a few negatives. One the offense is tailored aroind him he willl be successful with rodgers on the sideline
I’m with you man
The Jets made the absolute correct decision to stick with Zack Wilson. The Jets added some very good players to their roster, and Wilson didn't look bad at all when he replaced Rogers. Who knows Wilson may turn out to be the Jets franchise Quarterback.
Agree with that. Best way to roll
God bless! Jesus is the way ✝🤍
he kept his eyes on conklin the entire time on the int, if he was eyeing lazard milano breaks onto him then he can hit conklin, unfortunate play he surely fixes it next time
Quite possibly. Although on 1st and 10, just take 5 yards
We need to see him throwing 3 td 1 int etc. too many of these games he throws 0 or 1 td he’s gotta score more
Sure but being thrown into that environment on no reps, was very tough
His interception are all weird there’s always someone else open or an opportunity to just throw it away. It’s like the moments get to big for him
Hopefully Hackett can help clean that up
1 interception stop crying they won the game
