Interesting, but Dr. Muellner your informative video as well as others I have seen about the same subject, I wish could give us details about what kind of TAXES these physicians pay to the government from their ordinary income, as it is called by the government, were this six-figure compensation to be their sole source of income and nothing else. Since their salaries would place them in the highest federal tax bracket of around 37% or higher, taken together with the average state tax of around 10%, social security at 6.2% and Medicare at 1.45% of their salary, it seems to me as though physicians making as much as $600,000 would have to forfeit at least 55% of their income to the government, which amounts to at least $330,000 in this example, leaving $270,000 as their take home pay.
However, since their salary is above the social security threshold, I suppose the 6.2% deduction does not apply, which then increases their take home pay to $309,300. This is what I am interested to know since you have first-hand experience as a physician.
