I was waiting for this video ever since I saw the unboxing and it didn't disappoint. Man, I want this plane so bad!! Well done on the video and fighting the elements to fly this plane for us hopeless addicts. And well done to FMS on upgrading the right things and making the Avanti even better than it was. I can only hope they do the same to the Super Viper soon. ;)

Per your CG location, I got mine to balance perfectly with a 4000mah battery. I always try to add more battery versus static weight.

Hello Rich... which jet would you recommend between this one and the Eflite A10 for flying off of grass? My first jet has been the Eflite Viper. Between this FMS Avanti and the Eflite A10, which would be the best second jet for flying off of grass?

Fantastic display of control on landing rich, that crosswind was easily enough to flip that jet on landing.definitely a pocket rocket-but faster than Futura V2???

Flew the Avanti 1st time yesterday, amazing flights... ONly thing noticed the Lipo is HOT after landing... Running RB Voltage 6S 3300mha Has anyone moded the air flow into the lipo area

Would this jet be a good 1st EDF ? I have about a year and a half flying experience and normally fly high wings and mid wing aerobatic style. I also have an Eflite 25e Ultra Stick that has been clocked at 85mph. Thanks Rich
I would advise against this being a first jet. Elite Viper 70 mm would be a better first jet.
You mentioned that it felt more locked in with a more forward CG than the manual states. I'm flyin' mine around 102mm when balanced inverted on my fingers. Where did you finally end up with the CG for this V3? Thanks...
I don't recall at the moment. I usually push the battery fully aft & fly it. I normally use a 3300 to 4000 pack.
Great looking and performing model. Unfortunately, it’s listed as not being available until mid-May 2020. The FMS 70mm inrunner setup is a smooth powerhouse. I have the Yak 130 V2 that uses the same power setup and it hauls azz ! Three more months of waiting .... sigh ....

Great video. Watched each one. My V3 all built & ready to fly but could not get the Reflex gyro to work on my DX9. Flashes & goes to as3x type but will not switch to safe type mode. Any ideas?
I do not use a gyro in it... it flys great without it:)

Rich, looking at jets.Good experience level (high/low wing,warbirds) im stuck between buying the FMS Viper Jet or FMS Avanti S (jet in video).Thoughts?
BD, I prefer the Avanti, although both are really great! You won't go wrong with either purchase. Performance is similar on both.. Go with you personal preference. I like the overall performance, style & capability of the Avanti a bit over the Viper. The Avanti wings are easily removable for transport where the vipers single piece wing is not. Have you tried a 5000 pack in the plane as well?
@@BDTennessee I eyeball mine at about 10°to 15°for Takeoff & 30° to 40°for full landing... I use a 3300 to 3700 pack normally:)

Yes, it may. it should help out at least. I have 3700 and 4400 packs, I will try them in the next demo flights:)
