Nice build, I’ve got a few of the drop blocks “froggy” makes for a couple 2240s I’ve built up. While i like the PCP set up, I enjoy C02 on my 2240s, I use a 4oz bottle, they are about half the size of a 9oz and can be had in aluminum. They are small and compact. Keeps the 2240 nice and tight looking and you won’t have a massive tank hanging off your rifle. With a 21-26” barrel and the larger transfer port and stronger hammer spring you’ll average 630-650fps with some heavier pellets. Get a little more with lighter pellets. PCP you will get in the 800-900fps so if it’s power you want pcp build is the way to go. I get about 300ish shot count off one 4oz bottle. You do any mod work to the Beeman QB78? :)
Thanks John. I've upgraded this pcp a bit more since this video. I haven't messed with the beemans yet so sorry I can't provide any advice on that gun.
FYI , Im going to do a shout out for your channel today when I get home from work I have somewhere around 600 subscribed so it might help your channel grow a bit . Wild idea popped in my head about your build , 2 things you could get a dress up kit for car hoses and cover your airhose choose your color the come in all the anodized colors it looks fine in silver , but in my case my build never seems finished , Im truly satisfied with it as it is now , its dressed up and gaudy but still looks integrally built . The other interesting idea would be to see if you could get your bottle filled with Helium .
Awsome! Thanks for the suggestions Jason and the shout out as well! I have a camera coming in the mail and will be doing a shooting video of it with a chronograph soon. Probably this weekend. Thanks buddy!
I just uploaded a short on the current look of this gun. I still have more mods I want to do, like the trigger and maybe a Donny FL Yokozuna moderator. 😅
Ypu made the better choice using the aluminum buffer tube adapter. The buckrail ones are a good concept but very very brittle. I have the aluminum as well on my 2240 and the buckrail on my 2289 and its wobbly as all hell and the threads in them wear out very fast with barely any handling.
You should check out my safepack build , I have to say your build is completely unique outside the box thinking , I've been contemplating a drop bock build soon , Froggy makes those too , curious about your hammer spring , I bought the set of 3 different power springs and found its quite a bit shorter than the stock spring it acts as a slingshot hammer and eliminated all hammer bounce , just by putting in a stronger shorter spring , is yours the short spring ? The other question or suggestion is have you tried a hollow bolt probe ? I know your grav mag wouldn't fit but I believe from the published data you get a 20fps increase just by having the hollow bolt probe , Alliance Hobby and Melon Air are the only sources I know of Alliance Hobby makes a fine brass version , Thanks for posting very illustrative video.
Thanks for the comment and suggestions, Jason. I'll have to update with another video since the 2240 has changed quite a bit since this video. I'll surely check your build out as well. If you're a member of the crosman 2240 facebook page, you'll see what I posted tonight of how it now looks. The spring I used is .042 diameter, and I'm not sure if it was short or long it's been a while. I got it off eBay. I had a long bolt probe before, but I sacrificed it for the grav mag during the time of this video. I may have to check out the bolt probe you're referring to because the current set up now doesn't really give me room to mount the grav mag on the breech due to the dovetail to picatinny rail adaptors that I installed on it.
Can you please tell me or add link in the description for the bigger tank attachment I been looking for how to make it for the last 2 months im trying to figure it out I'm new to air guns so I have no idea what I'm doing lol if so Thank you so much
@@battleshieldarmament4122 I made this exact same rig, but I’m having seconds thoughts about filling the bottle up to its max because of the on/off valve . I’m also running a carbon fiber bottle

That’s really nice, what are you getting for fps?

You could do with pinning the valve
I have a question! What would be the difference between using a drop block as opposed to the safepac?
A safe pack is valve extention and screws in a drop block its for a bottle mounts to the tube your valve should also be pinned on each side.

Do you have a crosman 2240?
How much are you filling the bottle up too?
This bottle is rated for 4500 psi, but I just fill it to 3000 psi. I don't use this bottle anymore. I upgraded to the Carbon fiber bottles.

@@KiddDaze1 if you have a regulator, it should be ok.
