- In this episode, the Motorcycle Road Trip get's properly under way as the port of Ardrossan beckons and with it, the first of the 6 ferry journeys I'll be embarking upon on this road trip - this one being to Brodick on the Isle of Arran, an island that's not entirely as I imagined.

They looked so clean, thick, & extra puffy cumulus clouds ⛅️ The scenery makes me want to transport myself there right this moment! Last episode I had to comment on your superb audio equipment. This episode, it's you're editing skills. They shine. From best I can tell you have at least three cameras. You're having to blend a trip's worth of video from three cameras along with your main audio. The results are seamless when you switch from one view to another. Bravo.

Brings back memories of family holidays sixty years ago.....the palm trees are NZ native, and are actually members of the Lilly family, incredibly tough, live everywhere from swamps to snow (in winter) covered hill sides, the leaves can kill a lawnmower in seconds....
I didn't know that. Just assumed they were for warm climates, white sandy beaches and so on.

Spent a fair amount of time on Arran when I was in the RN, you got some lovely weather, we used to say that summer was around 22nd of May !

Oh wow!! What a thoroughly enjoyable episode and indeed these first two adventures have been captivating to watch and now Fridays just cannot come soon enough for the next one. I am no expert, but appreciate that editing is not a 5 minute job whilst chomping on a meat pie. It just flows seamlessly from front to reverse camera making me feel like I am on the bike with you. I am hoping you will chug your way to where The Silver Foxes are………however there seems to be masses to look at and amuse you. Nice to see a bit of Scotland again. I often wonder why so many pop off abroad in the summer when we have stunning scenery in the UK. It’s a great trip and I am enjoying it through my little screen.

Kevin, My wife and I are planning a trip to Scotland soon, your motorcycle tour gives me inspiration. We travel much like you but on 4 wheels, and stay in hotels or Inn's. Motercycle toured much of the West coast USA through Canada and Alaska, where we live. I know what you're doing is a lot of work but the rewards are Immense; cheers!!

Simply the best way to experience such places - on a bike. Problem is such beauty starts to rival the canals and you start saying - 'yes I could live here' ride safe.

The Caledonian Canal is awesome, Inverness - to Fort William via Loch Ness & the Union Canal from Edinburgh to Falkirk ending at the Kelpies.

Because I can see that you are a lot happier these days...I can't quite put my finger on it but you seem to have left what seemed to be worrying you far behind you now ...
I am still in touch with many people who live on the canals and to be perfectly honest the ones that have met you on their travels have always said that you are a very nice and decent person ..
These people don't lie . this to me speaks volumes about you.. many like myself were born and bought up on narrow boats....
You are never really alone on the canals even if you think that you are.. the narrow boat community always look out for one another .. this is how it has been from the very first time a narrow boat appeared on the canals and I hope that this tradition never stops..
So Kevin staying safe and well mate .. keep making your brilliant videos ..they are a diary of your life on the canals..

I have it say, your editing is very smooth, very professional. Must take a lot longer working from several angles like that. I do notice a lot more lingering shots of you on the bike than we'd see of you on Aslan. Sometimes it breaks up those incredible vistas, maybe trim those down a hair on future offerings? I know, I know, everyone is a critic, and opinions are like bum holes, lol 😂
Either way, absolutely loving these as much as the narrowboat episodes!

@@CountryHouseGent i have a bike, the engine consists of my wee legs. But, with so many (waaaaayyy to many) cars out on the roads these days, i simply use it for work.

Morning Kevin. Saved this video until I could get comfy, cuppa and quiet. WOW!!!!!! simply stunning scenery, fun sing-a-long and commentary and the best half an hour telly all week. We visited the Peak District last year and I was in tears at times at the sheer beauty, this video has had the same effect. You sang Mull of Kintyre! Ooh, are you passing through (did you go)? No canals here so I never expected a visit :-). It always helps me to see where I live through the eyes of other people. Lovely video. Hope you tried a proper wild camp at some point, though the campsite did look wonderful. And a bargain.
So glad you didn't give up on your dream. I remember when when you were kicking the thought around, COVID hit, and the whole world went sideways. You were ready to chuck the whole game, like so many of us. But you didn't. You persevered through some hard bits. Sometimes the dreams that get deferred, are the sweetest when they reach fruition. Continued safe travels. We will be watching from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an ocean away!
