Billie's willingness to be so open about her struggles will likely save lives - if someone so cool, so smart, talented and amazing battles with depression, then other youth who also struggle with depression can see that they also are amazing human beings . Billie is unfolding her genius shrewdly: she started out shocking us and getting our attention. Then she was subdued and mysterious. Now she is "letting" us in and giving us reasons to care. Opposite of most "new" top artists. I think she's onto something.

That's such a weird and cynical way to look at a 18 year old's life. Just because her music is popular doesn't mean her life is a strung-out publicity stunt, she's been the same person since she was 13.
when i was 10 my dad committed suicide and i was tired of life and never thought i could heal from that and in the midst of that, i listened to ocean eyes for the first time and a tear rolled down my cheek and then a little while later i figured out she had depression, and so did my dad and i know that is extremely hard to go threw and i support her 100%. love you billie
