  • Filmed in Jamaica, Roaring Lion charts the growth and development of the Rastafarian Movement and its founder, the former Garveyite Leonard Howell. With interviews from the renowned academic and Rasta scholar Professor Barry Chevannes and several of the movement's leading figures, Mortimmo Plano, Fimore Alvaranga, Dago and Gertrude Campbell, the documentary charts the Movement's growth from a persecuted commune in the foothills of Pinnacle, Jamaica, to an internationally recognized religion.
Roaring Lion is the first documentary officially endorsed by leading elders of the Rastafarian Movement.

Every true Rastafarian or Rasta sympathizer needs to look at this documentary! This is what the Rastafari Movement stood for back in the days, it was and still is geared towards liberation for all sc black people! Stop giving the real Rastafarians a bad name you rastitutes. You Rasta symphathizers should learn that Rastafari is not about smoking ganja, wearing locks, or listening to Reggae Music, its much more than that! Like Bob Marley sang," Movements of Jah People." The Rastafari Movement BEGAN as a Black Liberation Movement, so people need to stop watering it down with their hippie philosophy! I speak from my experience being a student of the Rastafari Movement in my childhood days! Peace and Love to all true Rastafarians worldwide!

To those who are interested in the biblical link of Rasta, I am happy to share some knowledge with you:
There is a religion in the middle east, mostly from Iraq, Syria, Iran, and neighbouring countries, that follow the teachings of John Baptist, and whose priests let their locks and beards grow and wrap it in a turban, as did John Baptist who was a nazarite. This religious group is known as the Mandaeans. They have existed for around 3000 years, and they are very similar to Rasta people. Bless.

if you really want to spread this message you need to change the title of the video to something more generic. the more likely someone is to type the word in youtube, is how they get lots of views, thats why videos of similar genres get spikes of popularity. I believe this is useful knowledge for daily life (whether you convert or not), and your message will spread!

What version of the bible should I read to become rasta? And are there other books I should read? Is the holy piby a bible to rastas?
