  • Never one to sit behind rods for days on end, Nick Helleur spends an evening and the following morning on a small stretch of river just a rod length or two wide.
    "You never know what the river will throw up with large barbel, chub, bream and carp present in this stretch - that's what excites me."

    Great vid Nick what length rods were they, and what reels. I fancy a bit of river carping haven't done any for years

      The rods are the Wychwood 9ft Extricators and the reels are the P Series 4000 from MAP

  • @1manhisdogsandthegreatoutd777

    what bs dpf is on the reels nick? just read your right up on the link...you mentioned how it disappears in clear water...but how does fair up in muddy murky waters..I've recently just got myself a pair of the cork10ft extricators...and although I'm yet to catch a fish on them must say very impressed with them...was able to hit spots I've been unable to on a water I fish that's full of over hanging trees proper little carpy spots that my old 12fts just made it difficult with...Can't wait hook into something now with them which hopefully won't be to long...big fan of the wychwood products...and it's now getting close to replacing my line and am considering the dpf as my next option..but alot of the waters I fish aren't clear hence why I'm asking how it fairs on more muddy and silty places...

    What rods and rigs?

    • @WychwoodSpecimen
      @WychwoodSpecimen  Před 8 lety

      They are the Wychwood 9ft Extricator rods with a duplon handle, and he used simple blowback rigs to catch on the day

      Extricator rods are the muts nuts for around the £50 mark, mine have been in plenty of good fights for over two years and still going strong💪🎣👍

      It's a fashion thing. Nothing more. It's probably more visible than traditional lines but tackle tarts like to look good.
