Same here to, being a heavy truck mechanic, I find these videos on watch repair and restoration really interesting.
Surely a labor of love as monetary compensation alone could not possibly justify the detail of the task . Bravo 👏
Thanks 🙏
@@Vintwatches Well, with price of gold being so high today, I'm sure this was less than a new/replacement bracelet.
No Kidding. When I saw the laser welder I knew this was not a DIY project. Too much equipment required and way too much time. I would rather spend the money to buy a new bracelet that invest the time and effort to do this. And yes, I am a skilled DIY'er.
Some know how much this costs??
@@ROKuberski depends very much upon whether the watch/bracelet has sentimental value or if you just want to keep your watch original. I for sure can appreciate this level of craftmanship.
Great demonstration of why its not cheap to repair a stretched bracelet, but my God is the finish worth every penny.
Thanks 🙏 It worth it!
Pure skill. Love to watch people working to this kind of standard.
Thank you 🙏
thank you for taking time to record, edit, and sharing this tedious but stunning work footages! Greatly appreciate your skills!

Absolutely wow ! That a meticulous job ! Results is amazing and as new !
Thanks for sharing it was really interesting !! ✨👌
Thank you for your comment 🙏
Just wonderful watching such careful, patient, precision work to breathe new life into a classic watch bracelet. Fantastic work, thank you for uploading.
Thank you Chris 🙏😊
@@Vintwatches You're very welcome. Can I ask you, how long did the restoration take you from start to finish?
Dear Chris, it took me a few days because of the filming. Usually 1-2 working days. Best regards from Germany Daniel
@@Vintwatches Thank you for your replies. I was never patient as a young man. The older I got the more I realised that the longer something takes to accomplish, the greater the satisfaction. Having the skill to accomplish what you make look so easy, really would give me great pleasure. I'm sure the customer must have been delighted :)
Excellent work! Impressed at how well the restoration of the bracelet came out in the end....quite a lot of metal removal and finishing, and absolutely meticulous work on each screw back to near original condition.
Thank you very much 🙏😊

@@Vintwatches what is the cost to restore a 1979 model1503 Rolex jubilee gold bracelet?
I am amazed by your lapping and grinding equipment and just holding these tiny parts for it must have been a big problem by itself. However the laser welding machine is superb. Well done, it is pleasure seeing you work. Your entire lathe could sit on my cross slide.
Thank you 🙏
what a great work! :)
Thank you 🙏
Such craftsmanship, truly stunning. I amazed though that seeing the labor intensive process that this could possibly cheaper that buying a new bracelet. I guess this bracelet is more expensive than I think. Again, truly amazing. That laser welder has to be eye wateringly expensive.
Thank you very much 🙏 A restoration like that is less than 1/3 of a new steel/gold jubilee bracelet.
@@Vintwatches wow, I guess the price of a new bracelet is crazy expensive. Very impressive.
Can you do on a presidential bracelet ? And about what is the cost ?
@@knoteasy25I got my Day-date’s bracelet re-pinned and restored in mid-2022 and it cost £1800. I was quoted £13,000 for a new bracelet from Mappin & Webb.
Beautiful job
Thanks! 😊
AMAZING WORK. SUBSCRIBED
Thank you 🙏😊
Sehr Gut!
Danke 🙏
Amazing skill!

Great video; thanks. Just a thought: It would be interesting to make a series of curving bracelet outlines -- kind of a graph or chart -- on heavy paper showing what amount of side-to-side bend in a Rolex Jubilee bracelet is (1) acceptable (i.e., within specs), (2) what amount is borderline, and (3) what amount is unacceptable. If Rolex doesn't have such specs, I would think you could develop them as a watch repair expert. Seeing this particular bracelet tested with such a device, before and after your work, would have been interesting and allowed you to even quantify the before-and-after improvement. I'd love to see you do such a test on a future Rolex repair. Thanks again.
Thank you 🙏 Great ideas, will think about it!
wow , nice work sir
Thank you 🙏
Bravo, good job

I don’t think I have the patience to restore a jubilee bracelet. That’s a lot of work I can only imagine how much it cost for this service.
Thanks 🙏
This is true craftsmanship, first time i have seen your channel i didn't think bracelet restoration was available in Europe i thought there was only a guy out in Hong Kong way, can you share a link to your site or information on how to get in contact?

@Vintwatches thank you I rewatched your video and seen you site right at the beginning on the parcel,
Again what a great piece of work
really nice

Now its wow for my wrist
Always wondered
Very nice 👍
Thx 🙏
Looks great as all your restorations. I've always wondered if the wear to the gold links could be compensated with with pins of a larger diameter in the middle or maybe tubes put over the pins. Would that take out that last little bit of slack?
Thanks 🙏 That’s a very good thought. I’m working with tubes on the old folded bracelet’s. If you do want a almost stretch free jubilee than it is also possible to restore the inner links as well or to change them completely to new ones.
Very very patient
Very good ❤
Thanks 🙏
There should have been a metal sleeve inside the gold links. Not sure if only the newer models have it though.
The old versions of the Jubilee have no sleeve’s.
Fantastic workmanship, iam surprised the gold links don’t stretch / wear .
Thank you 🙏 The gold links wear out as well, at the end it’s only a question of the budget of such a restoration.
No words bro
Thx 🙏
Meticulous Patience, Excellent Workmanship... Hats Off To You!!! I just have one question regarding the Jubilee Bracelet, do the gold links tend to stretch in any fashion?
Thank you 🙏 The gold links wear out as well. It is possible to replace or restore them as well.
Amazing work, very well done! 👍🏻
However, I‘m wondering how the Steel pins can be that worn out but not the much softer Gold Center links???
Thank you 🙏 Actually the gold links wear out too. It depends of the budget of a restoration if they will be restored or replaced as well.
Wonderful job. An excellent complement to the watch restoration. Shame to see such a piece receive such wear and tear. Then again, that's what they were built for.
Thanks 😊
Lube your link removal/installation tool threads with Molybdenum disulfide grease. It shall prolong its life and make your job easier
Funny how Rolex used to use hollow end-links and plain folded middle-links on their jubilee bracelets and now people scoff at Orient, Seiko, Invicta for doing the exact same thing on watches costing 100 times less than a Rolex.
I watch reviews for new cheap watches, like a new Mako, or a new DressKX and I laugh everytime I hear the reviewers saying "the bracelet is absolute crap! Hollow end-links? folded middle-links? Stamped folded clasp? For 150-200 USD they could have done so much better!"
And I'm like "for 5000+ USD, Rolex could have done so much better with their bracelets, too, since the 60's 'till the mid 2000s!"
I agree 💯. Or when they cry about no on the fly adjustment on bracelets on cheap watches but Rolex just started doing a few years back. Everyone other than Rolex was way ahead of the game. Solid links and end links on Rolex came much later.
Please let me know where you got the machine for breaking the from or what it is called
Fantastic work, tools and editing. Can I ask that you keep the captions on screen for a little longer? I like to learn as much as possible, and read every one of them carefully, but they are gone so quickly. Thanks!
Thanks 🙏 Will think about the captions!
Turned out amazing. I love the work. Question, what do you use to steam? Is that a rig you set up next to a faucet? Wanting to do something like what you have as well and not sure if that’s a plug n play item or if you built that yourself. Thanks
Thank you, I use a Steamer from Elma, the machine is under the faucet and a standard machine you could buy on almost every watchmaker or jewelry side.
Incredible work! What do you use for all gold bands? SS pins?
Thank you 🙏 Regular Jubilee takes SS pins, president bracelet are 18k pins.
Is there a way to get the brushing extremely fine? Great work as usual.....
Sure, the grit could be very fine as well.
And then people complain about the cost of having their bracelets restored......
They have NO idea on the amount of work that goes into it and should be shown this video so they realise.
Thanks 🙏
I loved both your video and red dead’s. Thank you for posting such a high quality video of this type of restoration!
I’m trying to just do a simple restoration of my 62510h, by just re-pinning (I already bought the disassembly tools) I’m struggling to find information and a supplier for the pins themselves. Any tips for me? Btw - have the sizes, but ordered some and they just dont fit, so need a better supplier.
Thank you 🙏 Various Supplier do have the matching pins. By far the best quality you’ll get from the german watch parts and watch tools supplier.
@@Vintwatches is there a particular supplier you use? Much appreciated man
As long as i can trust a jubilee its okay if it is sloppy. I actually love it, makes it look more like piece that has lived and belongs to the wrist its on
Very well done Sir 👍🏻 Would you also weld the golden middle links if they were almost broken/super thin?
Thank you 🙏 It is possible to weld the golden links as well, depends on the budget of the restoration.
Cool video! What kind of solution do you use in the ultrasonic cleaner?
Thanks 🙏 I‘m using a cleaning solution from Elma.
Excelente
Thx 🙏
Great save. I was wondering how to properly adjust the last link that attaches to the endlinks. I have a 6521H that is loose and the endlink pops away from the case as a result. I tried bending the center links closer together but then it becomes tight and rests under the endlink. I imagine the solution is adjust it somewhere between too loose and too tight. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you 🙏 To give an advice without seeing any pictures is quite difficult. The adjustment of the endlinks is done from the backside.
Subscribed immediately, seeing your superb work on @RedDeadRestoration (still think he's @MyMechanics, too, though... my theory is that he's trolling everyone - same mannerisms, style, perfectionism, gestures, film making... everything! xD)
Thanks 🙏
Excellent work and fascinating to watch, how long did it actually take in real time ?
Thanks 🙏 With filming it took a while.
Hi sir, verry nice work how much to get my bracelet fix ? I got a 36mm datejust on a jubelee ovale 20mm with some stretch thanks !
Thanks 🙏 Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
I mean, i don't see where the stretch from the center links was eliminated..
I believe the outer links are supposed to basically touch to firm the bracelet and slow down wear..
Also was a little surprised you didn't polish all the center links together, slid onto a rod.. using the wheel later only got the tops, no?
And lastly.. should the pins have been shortened slightly so the don't bottom out to make up for the lost width of the softer center links?
Anyway, fascinating video. Especially the laser and reworking of the new metal. Thanks!
Dear George, thank you for your comment! As you mentioned there is still stretch on that bracelet because I didn’t restored the inner 18k links. It is possible to restore or change them but depends on the budget of the customer. I shortened the polishing process on the video, otherwise it would be way too long. Your idea to shortened the pins is very good, I adjust every pin to perfect size and fitting for each link. Best regards from Germany Daniel -Vintwatches-
what's the tool to pull the links apart called pls?
Amazing work, as i understand for vintage watch it is pretty reasonable to save original bracelet and restoration in this case make sense.
I really wonder if cost of restoration (same amount of work like on video) higher than the pice for a new origianl bracelet from stainless steel (price for a new bracelet that made from precious metalls might be pretty high)
Thank you 🙏 The price of a new steel/gold jubilee bracelet would be 3 times higher then the restoration.
@@Vintwatchesthank you for your answer
What a beautiful thing to watch. How much does something like this even cost?
Thank you 🙏 Send me an Email or use the contact form on my website for pricing!
Looking at the time required to weld each link, I can only imagine how many hours the whole process took and how much the bill was!
Thanks 🙏
Nice work! How long does the restoration take?
Thank you 🙏 It took it’s time, especially because of the filming.
Great step by step video… How much would this service cost?
Thanks 🙏 Send me an Email or use the contact form on my website for pricing.
What do you do if the pins are to thin and brittle to pull out?
If it is to all links, then the costs would be to high for a restoration, if it is to a few links, I just drill them out!
Nice work! How many Weeks for this work you need?
Thanks 🙏 only days, not weeks 😊
Very nice, funny part…u have the nicest manicure i`ve ever seen at a watchmaker😅
Thank you 🙏
Pls do mine next 😩😂
Great and professional works as always, but the repair cost might not cheap and might be not far form replacement cost of new bracelet
Thanks 🙏 The repair costs are approximately 1/3 of a new bracelet.

Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
And with this amount of work it's still cheaper than buying the new bracelet or at least the pins?
Yes it is a lot cheaper than a new bracelet. The prices of a new Steel/Gold Jubilee is out of mind.
Where can I send a watch in for this process? What do you charge?
Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com
If gold is the softer metal than stainless steel , why do the steel pins wear and not the inside of the gold link ? For a bracelet to be as stretched as this one is , why is there no noticeable wear in the internal ends of the gold links , this is very odd for such a stretched jubilee .
The gold links wear out as well, it is possible to restore or change them. At the end it’s a choice of the budget of the restoration. As you could see at the video, there is still stretch, that comes from the 18k links.
I'd use a dye so you know how deep you've grinded.
Very nice detailed job. I have a 1983 DJ exactly like in this video with the same amount of stretch. How much to restore like in this video?
Thank you 🙏 Send my an email or use the contact form on my website for pricing!
