  • Lovelock is a little town about 40 miles or so east of Reno, Nevada. There isn't much to this little town and I've driven through it many times on my way to Reno, so I thought I would just stop and see what there was to see in this little town. I was surprised to find that they have quite a museum for such a small community packed full of historical information.

Michel Gross oh, .....thank you. That makes a whole lot more sense than what I guessed. Thank you so very much for watching and I do appreciate people letting me know what things are when I'm not sure. I would prefer to know more about what I'm looking at. Best wishes.

drasticg Thank You! I had another segment of video that accidently got deleted during a "freeze up" in the editing program. But the people in this little town were very friendly and invited me back so they can show me more things of historical interest. A lot of them are descendents of the original settlers.

This video is AWESOME, Cindy. The people were so accommodating. That museum was loaded with interesting items. I hope the caretakers/owners get enough visitors. SUPER

Rhonda Zambernardi The people in this little town were curious about us and super friendly. I am an archaeology buff regarding ancient burial and Native American sites in the West. I shouldn't but I do get a little annoyed when people really don't do their homework when talking about certain archaeological sites out here. But, we were really surprised to see that so much history had been preserved in this tiny little town.

I worked as a truck driver wheat harvesting combines dumped into, in 1968 at age 18. I was on the road from my home of Philadelphia, PA hitchhiking from Reno on I-80 when old Red, a great old man gave me a lift and he drove combines. We both acquired a job on the Demler wheat ranch of 2200 acres in a valley outside Lovelock

That's a really cool story. I bet Lovelock looks really different now than when you were there. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your comments. Did you eventually make it back to PA?

It is true. I was twice on the road all summer at age 17. Made it from Philly to La. The next time I was out there for about 8 months after High School. I finally bought an old jalopy from pay on the ranch which the engine blew up in Cheyenne WY and I took a train back from there to Philly with my last few dollars. Next stop combat in Vietnam and then 3 months in Valley Forge Army Hospital. I am turning 69 years old on May 21 this year. TY for your thoughts.@@burningsandsexploration3711

Jöran Jäderberg Thank you very much for watching. I had a lot more, but somehow 45 minutes of video got deleted when my editing program froze up. Oh, well, it happens. I did meet some interesting people in this little town and plan to stop back by there in the future.

Hi Cindy, How is my “19 year old” friend today?
Another good and very interesting video. You should get a commission from the Nevada Tourist Dept. I’d sign a petition in your favour. 😉
Thanks for taking us to Lovelock. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Wow Cindy, this video is awesome!! I'll keep my eyes far wide open, what an enormous quantity stuff they keep and in a such good condition. I love this kind of videos part also for genealogy and see a few common Dutch names, and then that antique baler! In the past I visit very much cemeteries, sometimes just what is written on the gravestones, like the one in Eastern Holland. There was a part of text what was very small and you have to come nearby to read and stand on the lower stone and read: "If you can read this you are standing on my feet!" Most be a very finny guy that he even be funny after his live. ;-)

I'm guessing not much. I have found some cool quartz and calcite crystals in the canyons around there but no signs of gold or silver.
