I had to do Donner Pass at night in January for the 1st drive in my bus. Adding to the stress of that inaugural drive was no heat and a failing alternator. I, too, stressed about driving Donner Pass. Turned out to be a nothing burger. Welcome to my favorite state!
So cool that you customized the lock! Way cooler than the $20.00 lock! Love watching your journey 😻. I've been a fan from the beginning, living life thru your adventures 👵💜
I'm happy to see that you have learned the most important part of freedom is escaping the itinerary. Also you know what others call waste land, has it's own beauty if you just take a moment in time to appreciate it. Great video of two people enjoying life as it should be.
Mike was spending a lot of time looking at the weather during our trip over the pass. Thankfully it was in the 50s almost the entire trip over the top.
At about the 13 minute mark, I was like, “this episode is killer, I haven’t seen mamma kitty in awhile, that sure would make this episode another favorite in my National Skoolie Graphic playlist.” And then BOOM there she is...rolling in the dirt. ❤️ And thank you for giving me a reason to visit Love Lock. Y’all are the best. I was hoping this would be a “congratulatory comment” 😉Guess I’ll just have to wait for that episode. Come to Oregon, universal life church made me an ordained minister some 13 odd years ago. Travel safe y’all. Much Peace Much Love
Kerry’s last line of crossing Donner Pass without getting eaten………referring to the Donner Party resorting to cannibalism in order to survive on their journey over the pass. Her facial expression - PRICELESS !!!
Found your site on Tiny House Giant Journey site and had to subscribe. Wow! This is amazing and now I can live vicariously through you and your travels. I’ll be binge watching you guys from now on. Safe and happy travels from my little apartment in Prince George, BC, Canada. It’s not a tiny house but it’s my 600 sq.ft. of heaven 😊
I wanted to let you guys know that they closed the park in Junction, Texas to overnight camping just about 3 weeks after you guys were there. The town just got fed up with all the crap going down. I stayed there about a week before.
used to race in lovelock...years ago...they still have the cat house on the other side of the tracks...lol it had maybe a stop light and or a stop sign lol.
Yes, fuel is outrageously expensive, and in Australia diesel is $AUD 2 per litre. That's $USD 1.50. A US gallon (3.8 litres) would cost us $ AU 7.60, or $USD 5.70 per gallon.
Welcome to my world you two! I drive around Gardnerville, Dayton, and Carson City as work. Doing Grubhub. My family and I have been living in the capitol city since 1991. I was only a half year old or 2 years old at that time.
My daughter owns and runs a Motel in Austin NV called the Cozy Mountain Motel....if you in the area she would love to see you guys. She has parking for your bus across the street and she runs "Grandma's Kitchen" great food and ambiance :-)
I was going to ask how quickly Mama Kitty comes out after you stop so thanks for showing that she can be easily coaxed to go roll around in her element. ❤🐈🐾 -Troy & Aimee
It depends on where we go. Some places she just won't go outside it's usually in areas where there's a lot of people or a lot of vehicles. Some places like the forest she is meowing for us to let her out!
Great video guys , onto the unknown 💫 What a cool journey u guys have been on . 🥳 Coming from a Canadian .. the snow is very pretty… when ur driving past it 😉🤪lol Thanks for sharing 😊
I love watching you guys your so down to earth, don't you sorry about letting your cat out and losing her she's so beautiful and how did she get her name mama? Your such fun happy people and really get on well together.I enjoyed your watching your build and I really love your bathroom mosaic it's totally amazing well done Kerry.I loved watching you on The beach and going fishing with I believe Skylar it was so fun love you guy's❤❤
We were worried at first but she has earned our trust. No matter where we go she recognizes the buses home and doesn't go very far from it. We started calling her mama when she had a litter of kittens and it just evolved to Mamacita.
Hi Mike, Hi Kerry, As always its so good to see you both and as usual looking so good, the padlock idea was a great way to celebrate your visit to Lovelock and your love as well, I wish I could of put one there for you both.. Look forward to seeing you again next time, stay well the three of you, Love you..K.
Sorry we hadn't seen your comments. We have a pretty stiff comment filter and a lot of times your comments end up there for some weird reason. Then we forgot we had a hold comment section for the past couple of weeks because Mike has been so terribly busy! Good to see you're still with us kevin! We love you too!
Hi I have family in Lovelock I'm from California and I'm having vacations now, I see your video before and I went to the city hall to share a picture with you
🤣👍🏻😁❤️ Drove Donner Pass many moons ago, definitely daunting. Another ferocious pass is Parleys Pass going from Park City Utah down into Salt Lake, that one is wicked ! Love the custom lock 👍🏻😁 nice touch for dollar store white trash love. 🤣🥰
I bought our ball attachment at a truck stop. I love it! That said it was a cheap one and I want to get one that attaches to the steering wheel more elegantly. This one has a bolt that kind of sticks out the bottom of it and I find it catches my shirt or my arm sometimes and is uncomfortable.. I would look on Amazon to find one that has a cleaner design.
Sure hope the gas prices go down... could get $$$ :( What's your seat there in the front, Kerry? I thought you had a shoe storage, shelf thing at the top of the stairs. Are you just sitting on that when driving? Or is the couch close enough to sit on?
Told you to get out of California. Stupid prices on EVERYTHING, especially fuel. I wish I could meet you guys, but I'm stuck in Long Beach where you have gold plated food, fuel, house goods and everything else. If you guys get a chance, go to Carson and then sneak over to Virginia City...Mike and you will LOVE it there. Stop in at Bucket of Blood Saloon...so much fun there. Take care.
Hey Mike, I am building up my shortie now and am looking ahead at what I’ll be packing. Like a lot of us nomads I plan to be in the boonies often and want to create a good med kit. Every pre made first aid kit I’ve seen is either too wimpy or filled with sample packs of things and meds that expire in like a month. With you being a first responder and a nomad could you do a video about how we nomads should make our first aid kit. I want to pack the stuff that will help me get to a med center like insta clot and such. But I also don’t want to pack anything that might get me in more trouble instead of helping.
Casey, the best medkit is between your ears. I would encourage you to get some basic or even some more advanced training if you are interested in having a good medkit. For now I would just recommend having something so you could stop a serious bleed like a tourniquet. Get one of those good military ones you can find on Amazon or in some kind of tactical store. Other than that some 4x4 sterile gauze dressings and some roller gauze will handle most of your small traumatic injuries. Other than that, paper towels and duct tape do wonders. Again I put the emphasis on this because it's way more important that you have the knowledge then all the fancy tools in your kit because without the knowledge the tools don't mean anything.
That very so much I couldn't possibly answer it. It just depends on if we are sitting in one place for a long period of time or if we're on the move. Our gas tank is 60 gallons so I'll let you do the math.
i was like 21.00!!!!! dollar general/family dollar HELLO!!!! hahaha and did Kerry and Mike disappoint??? NO WAY McLOVIN!!!!! mike, I have a question for you (probably not shareable on here) i'll try to reach out thru IM/something. but it has to do with "safety" while traveling.... it just dawned on me 2 years ago a husband/wife were killed by some wacko in/on mustang island campground in texas and it makes my mind kick into military mode about your guys security... you seemed to be kitted out fairly well when i saw your retirement video also when riding them bikes/walking in the woods in the moutons a Mtn Lion.BEAR could make quick work of the two of you without some "at the ready" action makers... love ya guys videos! and just thinking about your alls safety.
If you've never been to North Dakota, there is a save for last club... or something like that. And as a Californian, yes we have lost our minds.... quite a while ago actually... but I stopped watching the news 😉
Hey world travelers 👋, Listen, I would like to send y’all a picture of the my place. Y’all are welcome here anytime. You can 110 plug-in and water up. I need an email address to send it to. I’m actually in close proximity to Dallas, and Lake Texoma. My town is called Leonard. Let me know, my gal and I are building a Cargo conversion for some traveling. We’ve been following y’all for a while. Y’all are Our kind of folk’s. Rick & Mary

When you go up and down Highway 50 in the summertime usually our anxieties are down due to no snow and ice.
Mike was spending a lot of time looking at the weather during our trip over the pass. Thankfully it was in the 50s almost the entire trip over the top.
Omg you guys Look @ The Mountains 😻🙋♀️Ty So Much, I Enjoyed the Ride😂🙏👍🙋♀️

What a pretty lock !!! 🔐 Bussy / Mike & Kerry 😍
Tank swishing adapter video please.
I don't think we recorded anything on that but I would be happy to talk about it in a video as well as give a link to that product.

Mike when are you going to mention the show on blankspace with gutting and building a bus, RV, and a van competition
We just found out a couple days ago that it is going to air on May 20th and we will definitely be talking about this!
My daughter owns and runs a Motel in Austin NV called the Cozy Mountain Motel....if you in the area she would love to see you guys. She has parking for your bus across the street and she runs "Grandma's Kitchen" great food and ambiance :-)

try turning your exhaust up like a semi
Y'all need to put the exact coordinates of the lock and put it in geocaching.

how did ya like Truckee...your close to home....
We really didn't get a chance to explore tracking as we were just passing through but from what we saw it seemed very nice.

Great job on painting the lock. I live in n. California and going up donner pass in our rv is okay. I just don't like the steep downgrades. Thanks Don
Latin! Correct, back when they taught such things in school.
To the right of the steering wheel there's a small, white, square tingum with a wire coming out the back. stuck to the windshield........ What is it?
That is a small Wyze security camera. I use it for miscellaneous things that I want to monitor that are regular security cameras don't point at.
I don’t blame you for spending 3.60 on a lock you may never see again 😂👍🏻🍻
🤣🤣🤣🤣
We actually questioned whether or not we should keep the keys! Lol!
Hey Mike, where can I get a ball like yours? It looks like it would make steering a lot easier.
It can be a labor saver, but if you lose control of it it can break your arm. Knowing that I still have one on my rig. LOL
I bought our ball attachment at a truck stop. I love it! That said it was a cheap one and I want to get one that attaches to the steering wheel more elegantly. Speaking of dumping... Paper. In the compost or separate container?
P paper in the trash and poo paper in the toilet! 😁
£1.72 per liter for Diesel in the UK
$10.15 per gallon equivalent in USA
Ouch! Just Ouch!
I would not drive in those high priced states until the fuel price comes down.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Sure hope the gas prices go down... could get $$$ :(
What's your seat there in the front, Kerry? I thought you had a shoe storage, shelf thing at the top of the stairs. Are you just sitting on that when driving? Or is the couch close enough to sit on?
How many miles to the gallon do u get in your bus? My Van Hool 40 ft bus gets 9 miles to the gallon.
Same
