Had the Staff of Command on my druid from Valthalak back in 06. Sold it to make bag space in TBC. Still sad about it.
I got the Hourglass and Latro's Shifting Sword in the same Black Morass run when TBC Classic launched. Oh and it was my first HC run of said dungeon. I couldn't belive my luck... I remember thinking "this is it... this is the dungeon that I'll have to farm for the next month..." and BAM! :)
It took me 74 runs for getting Hourglass on my fury... It was around one day reallife time and 148 one minute breaks no one ever needed đ„Ž
these swords are rare but they are not 1%, the protector one is around 10% and the other one is about 2% if i remember correct. Had this sword many times in classic and its a beast for lvling a paladin
One level later you already get an ice barbed spear if you can win an AV. It's a bit more tricky as HC, because you have to safely AFK in the cave, but still doable. But yeah, nice flavor item.

i farmed that shit multiple times in vanilla and tbc for my 39 twinks, took me hundreds of hours each time. but when you oneshot a lvl 60 mage with one wf + weapon proc you know it was worth it.

Pendulum of Doom isn't just s good twink weapon. That's actually the second reason why it's legendary. It's one of the rarest items in all of Warcraft. On retail this thing sells for over gold cap. Im not sure if it even still drops on retail.
Was one of those things. Insanely low drop rate + removed from loot tables (i think?) so unequipped BoE versions are super rare

I had the ZF swords on my rogue in retail, didn't realize how rare they were but I just spammed ZF for fun. My dumbass got curious and combined them and was very disappointed you could not uncombine them, my first epic and I couldn't wield it and lost my badass swords :(

I got the other sword on my first run back in Vanilla for my warrior. Second sword took me from lvl 45 to maybe 50. I leveled by doing ZF runs. Good times.

I got one of the swords pretty quick on my warrior and proceded to grind the everliving funk outta zf for the 2nd one. After ALOOT of runs it finally dropped!
....And a freaking hunter ninja'd it because he "wanted an epic". THAT EPIC ONLY HAS CHANCE ON HIT ON IT.

happened to me twice, on my druid and on my shaman, got both swords in one ZF farm. ofcourse can't use them, and when I had to get them on my paladin in TBC I had to be boosted over 60 times to get both swords for the zul'thraze xD
Back in Vanilla my hunter got both of them in one run. I didn't "hunter loot it" no one else in the group could use it. I never combined them. When TBC came out on Illidan we all agreed to kill a Pitlord. As soon as it died I combined and "received" the loot trolling the whole raid into thinking that I got an epic off the boss. The troll didn't last long but while it did it was amazing!

Back when I had no idea what I was doing in vanilla, POD dropped in an Uldaman run. I was on a ret paladin and someone ninja'd it and hearthed. I was devastated. Looking back on it, I had no idea what it was and was just going to use it level, so it would have been a huge waste.
I've heard tales of people transferring servers just to secure a POD.
its always listed for 50k gold on my server. No idea if it ever sells tho.

@@Carterwash3re Hey, do you know if level 39+ blues like the pendulum of doom can even drop anymore from Uldaman after the mob level crunch? I've been farming and highest I've seen so far is Papal Fez which is level 38. I've searched everywhere I could think of and can't find a single screenshot or video of pendulum of doom or any other 39+ blues dropping since the level nerf.

pendulum's proc also procs extra attacks, all wound procs do, so shamans wf can proc off it aswell.
Back in my times i get both too in one run. Lucky me, the other one who wants it had a DC at the rolling. XD Never forget it.
What he failed to mention about the PoD ax is level 39 reck bomb paladins in classic. All the procs pretty much just 1 shot people with stacks

every vanilla player has farmed some item with a 0.01% - 0.03% chance eventually, so thats not toooo rare imo
ofcourse its not the same farming 10000 satyrs than running 10000 ZF, but its not like a once in a life time experience either

Sul'thraze and Sang'Thraze are the easiest 1% drop weapons you can get in any dungeon, in any expansion, in any mmo ever, in any game ever, they are the absolute most common swords with a "1% drop rate" in gaming history. The real 1% chance is being in a party that won't fight you for it

We dropped pendulum of doom once, in a vanilla run, 2019. I was the last one, i could need or greed, everyone pressed greed. I did the right thing, pressed greed and won. Ez 2k gold.
I had pendulum on my 39 Twink shaman... 800+ windfury crits literally 1 shot everyone if it proc'd

I killed steelsnap at lvl 28 or 29 on my warr. Popped retaliation soon as i charged in and by the time i killed him the other 2 were half health so it was easy to clean up. Dont think i even needed to use a healing pot either

I got it in like 4 runs. I got the rarer one first and my guild was like, "Nah we're running until the other drops." It was so nice to have in the plaugelands in my 50's, and yes mines still in the bank to this day.

I never got this sword in the original release, but I got it during burning crusade on my alt pally. It was the most mind blowing thing because a guildmate was running me through ZF and I actually got both halves of it, in THE SAME run. Sadly, weapon sucks.
