I put this on helicopter spinning 275mm blades sub 450. I was really surprised at the power spinning about 3700rpm main rotor. The magnets seem weak to me compared to other similar size motors which had no bearing on performance.
@@rcplanepirate One on my Feilun FT009 doesn't even require cooling and the other one on the Volantex SR65 performs well but gets a tad hot even watercooled since the boat is 65cm long
I have thought about getting one of these motors for a good while now to put on a scratch build foamie pusher jet. If I would have known that the actual quality was much better than the pics of it on ebay then I would have pulled the trigger on it long ago. As always, nice video! Keep em coming.
Yes I was surprised just how much power it took. If you do get one use the Turnigy AE esc or a Hobbywing Platinum esc cause they can handle the high rpm and make the motor run cooler. Not sure it would be the right choice for a foam pusher jet though because it only turns a small prop. Maybe better on something more aerodynamic like a pylon racer style plane.
I've been using the Hobbywing Skywalker 60 and 80 amp esc's with good results on the higher kv motors between the ranges of 2200kv to 3700kv that i'm running on a few of my delta pusher builds. The 3700kv motor is similar to the motor in this review. It's a Gartt 450 and i'm running it on 4s with a 4.7x4.7 prop. There are a couple of videos on my channel of a pink and black delta pusher that I designed and it has this setup on it. Very quick with this setup but the motor is hot after a 2 or 3 minute flight. Even though i'm pushing the motor far beyond the rated specs it's still going strong after 20 flights or more. I've heard alot of good things about the Platinum esc. Not very familiar with the AE though. My next esc purchase will be one of those. Thanks for the recommendations.
Heli motors are designed for high torque as they have to move massive main rotors and tail rotors and the collective head that changes the load on command so it has to handle getting how. 45amp Max current draw in the spec is what would scare me away because of the loads it’s expected to handle while spinning at roughly 3100 rpms. I fly helis and was really eyeing this motor for a cheap cheap cheap 450 helicopter build. I literally bought the 450 heli kit for $15.
If you are flying 800 gram 450 size helicopter. You would reach 45 amps draw for a fraction of a second. The hovering amps would be around 25 amps. I have data logged 3s motors on this size helicopters and that is what I have observed. By comparison scorpion motors for 450 size heli are also rated at 45 amps.

@@imranahmad2264 You need to get a longer shaft. Take the motor apart and fit the longer shaft so it sticks out the other end of the motor. If the shaft you get has a groove at the end for a ring clip then just turn it round so that end is where the clip was on the old shaft by the bearing to stop the motor coming apart. You will also need to put flat spots on the shaft where the grub screws hold the shaft the other end. If the shaft doesn't have a groove for a clip you will need to get a grub screw collet to secure the shaft that end. Also I'm not sure if the standard shaft is 3.17mm but only at the end. It might be 4mm where it goes through the bearings. So measure the hole shaft before you buy a new one. Here is a good video explaining how to do it. czcams.com/video/D4UKWvTHX1I/video.html

How much load it can carry?
Is the motor going to burn if i use 80A esc?
No that will be fine.

What amp u use for esc?
It's a 65 amp esc. It's shown at 3:55 on the video.
